As a Marketing Communications Manager, I appreciate how CisionOne consolidates all the tools I need for media outreach and monitoring in one convenient platform. It simplifies the process of finding the right journalists, provides reliable and current contact details, allows me to track coverage across various formats, and enables me to measure engagement—all from a single dashboard. Sometimes, the platform feels somewhat sluggish or lacks intuitive functionality, especially when searching for or exporting lists. Additionally, updates about journalists do not always reflect recent changes at their outlets immediately. I appreciate that Cision provides a one-stop shop for all aspects of online brand presence and press. You can connect with reporters, get real-time alerts for tracked keywords, track your press release performance, and merge with PR Newswire so you can amplify your press releases on that platform as well. I love that it has a clean, easy-to-read interface that is easy to use to create simple search queries based on a topic, media outlet or name of a journalist. I also really love the ability to create and save lists within the platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is a bit of a learning curve to figure out how to work this version compared to previous iterations. It can also be challenging to narrow down searches for some topics. There are some filtering options available, but they aren't as intuitive or as helpful as they could be. The in-app email distributions are also interesting. I like the concept, but the execution needs some tweaking.
I also am not a huge fan of the email automation within CisionOne. When journalists receive the emails, it is painfully obvious it is coming from an automated system and it's impossible to get rid of the "via CisionOne" in the sender line. I appreciate the robust reporting capabilities of CisionOne, as it creates detailed and comprehensive reports. I have always liked this feature since using the old Cision platform. The quality of daily reports is a standout aspect for me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The transition from the old Cision platform to CisionOne was difficult, and a lot of reporting data was lost during the process. This was frustrating, as it was not a smooth transition. The newsletter feature has issues with pulling in results that are inaccurate and do not match what was previously obtained with the old platform. The design of the daily reports is hard to read, and they tend to include a lot of small, inauthentic media coverage from smaller sites. This happens despite having set up a Boolean search. The reports need to be more accurately curated to pull only from authentic media sources. Currently, there are ongoing issues with the account that have not been fully resolved, which impacts the likelihood of recommending CisionOne to others. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The measurement capabilities with CisionOne are robust - there are a lot of different widgets, ways to analyze media activity and more. It's a very comprehensive tool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Unfortunately, since Cision upgraded to CisionOne, we've been increasingly unhappy with the solution. While it's quite robust in terms of capabilities, the UX is overly complicated and difficult to navigate. The way Cision is now pulling in results has also declined - it often misses coverage and/or can't pull accurate metrics. For the past three quarters, when it's come time to pull reports, our dashboards have broken or been deleted due to technical errors, forcing us to start from scratch.
The database has also declined substantially. More often than not, when we search for reporters, they aren't in the system.
I've been a TrendKite / Cision user my whole career, but unfortunately, their "upgrade" to CisionOne has created some serious issues that will force us to look elsewhere. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The reports work much faster/better than the old version and the automatic visualizations are a useful touch. Multiple tags work better than before, and recent (within the past few weeks) upgrades to text customization in media releases is a huge improvement. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Shortly after the transition (Cision -->CisionOne) my team delt with some frustrating monthslong issues -- missed mentions, duplicate tags, report complications due to lack of backlogged tagged content transferred into the new platform. It seems as though the missed mentions improved with time, and duplicate tags were sorted with help from CisionOne after much back and forth.
I wish the layout of media mentions was more customizable and that the default view was not multiple streams. There are other features that would be hugely time-saving like de-duplicating contacts on slightly different media release sends at the same time (used often by location, for instance).
The CisionOne account management and customer support can be frazzled, with a confusing mixups and constant upgrade pitches rather than needed support. Quality of support and product is not aligned with cost, in my view. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I enjoy monitoring media for keywords and competitors, and using that information as a form of social listening to identify outlets and contacts covering specific topics. I also appreciate the ability to easily track all mentions, audience reach, and AVE. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

- Slow interface and regularly lags.
- Media database removed descriptions of journalists in place of their X bios, which makes researching more labor intensive.
- Media database filtering is hard to use and the results are often overwhelming.
- Results from media monitoring often have discrepancies -- a publication may mention a company several times throughout the week but not all of the articles will appear.
- Boolean queries are somewhat effective but often requires a lot of filtering, which then omits certain results.
