"Great support for software development, although it requires supervision"
5/5
What do you like best about ChatGPT?

What I value most about ChatGPT is its versatility and ability to help me solve problems in different areas, especially in software development. As a software development engineer, I use it to analyze requirements, explore technical solutions, review code, structure projects, and understand complex concepts related to technologies like C#, ASP.NET Core, React, and TypeScript.

One of its greatest advantages is the ability to work iteratively. I can explain a problem, provide context, evaluate proposed solutions, and request improvements without having to start everything from scratch. It is also particularly useful for organizing development plans, preparing quality tests, researching technologies, and improving technical documentation.

Moreover, its utility is not limited to programming. I use it to draft professional documents, prepare interviews, and analyze different alternatives before making decisions. For me, its main strength is combining understandable explanations with practical assistance, which facilitates learning and allows tackling complex tasks in a more organized manner. What do you dislike about ChatGPT?

One aspect I like least about ChatGPT is that, although it can offer very comprehensive and technically convincing answers, they are not always entirely accurate. In software development, I have encountered situations where it proposes code with errors, misinterprets some requirements, or presents solutions that require additional adjustments before working correctly. This necessitates reviewing, testing, and validating its results, especially when working on large projects.

Another significant limitation is managing context in extensive conversations. When a project requires multiple iterations, it can lose details of previous decisions, repeat recommendations, or generate responses that do not fully incorporate the changes made. This affects the continuity of work and can increase the time needed to detect and correct inconsistencies.

I also consider that the usage limits of some advanced models can interrupt complex tasks, even with a paid subscription. I would like to see improvements in technical accuracy, greater consistency in long conversations, more transparency about the uncertainty of responses, and more flexible limits for those using the tool professionally.

In general, ChatGPT is a very valuable tool, but it still requires constant human supervision to ensure the quality and reliability of its results. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
