What I like best about Carbone is how it brings document design and code management together in one workspace. The ability to edit structured content on one side while viewing the PDF preview on the other makes the whole process feel more controlled and efficient. I particularly appreciate how changes can be reviewed visually, which helps catch formatting issues early instead of discovering them after exporting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What I dislike about Carbone is that the editing experience can feel a little overwhelming when working with raw template code, especially when formatting instructions become lengthy. From the screenshot, the PDF preview also appears to display the underlying code rather than a fully rendered document, which makes it harder to judge the final output at a glance. I would appreciate a more responsive live preview, clearer error feedback, and better guidance when something in the template affects the layout. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Hello, and thank you for your review.
TO help you next time: The Carbone Studio preview shows the fully rendered document, merged with your JSON data, and refreshes each time you save your template. Studio also highlights errors right where they are in your template. For lengthy formatting instructions, the Carbone Agent Plugin (Skill + MCP) lets your AI assistant write and tidy up the tags for you.
The team and I are happy to give you a quick tour on the live chat.
