What do you like best about Carbone?

With Carbone, I can create formatted documents from data feeds without having to format every report manually at Poles Magic. The templating method is preferable for creating documents with JSON data and automating the repetitive outputs. The API interface can be integrated into backend processes and the speed of Carbone's engine is ok for everyday document production provided the templates and inputs are well prepared. What do you dislike about Carbone?

The template syntax can be challenging to learn, particularly when managing conditional workflow, nesting values in array variables and for nested data. Support for formatting issues can be slow and frustrating. Price may become an issue as the number of documents grows. User-friendly samples and prompt support would be welcome. What problems is Carbone solving and how is that benefiting you?

It automates the generation of documents from data. It takes care of the layout formatting that we would be doing by hand as well as the repetition that we would have had to code ourselves in our data pipelines. The templates are relatively easy to learn and manage, although very complex layouts can take me some time to implement. AI assistant to generate and debug code can be helpful, but the output still has to be validated. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
