What do you like best about CAR RENTAL GATEWAY?

I have worked with Car Rental Gateway for more than 12 years, across several car rental businesses where I have been responsible for distribution, connectivity and international partnerships. Over that period, CRG has consistently been one of the most reliable and professional technology partners I have worked with in the car rental industry.

What I value most is the combination of industry knowledge, responsiveness and a genuine solution-oriented mindset.

Car rental distribution can become complicated very quickly. There are multiple systems, brokers, APIs, commercial requirements and technical dependencies involved, and when something does not work as expected, it is very easy for responsibility to be passed between different parties. That has never been my experience with CRG. Their team takes ownership, investigates the issue and focuses on finding a practical solution.

They are also remarkably easy to work with. Communication is direct, professional and efficient, and I rarely feel that unnecessary layers or processes are being added to something that should be simple.

Over the years, I have worked closely with Hannes, Martin and several other members of the CRG team, and the quality of service has remained consistently high. Whether we are discussing a major new integration, onboarding a distribution partner, reviewing an existing connection or resolving a smaller operational issue, they are approachable, knowledgeable and quick to respond.

Another major strength is that they understand the commercial side of the car rental industry, not just the technology behind it. They understand how rental companies, brokers, OTAs and other distribution partners actually operate and what each party needs from the connection. That makes discussions considerably easier and allows projects to move forward much faster.

After more than a decade of working together, I know that when CRG is involved in a project, I have a partner on the other side who understands the objective and will work with us to get it done.

Professional, fast, flexible, knowledgeable and genuinely pleasant to work with.

What do you dislike about CAR RENTAL GATEWAY?

I am extremely demanding and admittedly quite impatient, and I normally have no difficulty identifying things that could be improved.

In this case, however, I genuinely struggle to find anything meaningful to criticise.

Of course, in a business involving integrations, APIs and multiple third-party systems, issues will occasionally arise. What matters to me is how those situations are handled, and whenever I have encountered a problem involving CRG, their team has responded quickly, taken it seriously and worked to resolve it.

So even when I manage to find something that is not working exactly as it should, they tend to remove my reason for complaining fairly quickly.

That is probably the strongest criticism I can offer after more than 12 years of cooperation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is CAR RENTAL GATEWAY solving and how is that benefiting you?

For car rental companies, reaching customers internationally requires access to a large and constantly evolving network of brokers, OTAs and other distribution partners. Establishing and maintaining separate technical connections with every partner would require significant development resources, ongoing maintenance and operational coordination.

Car Rental Gateway helps solve that problem by providing the connectivity and infrastructure that allows us to distribute our rental products efficiently across multiple external sales channels.

Instead of having to build, maintain and troubleshoot every individual connection ourselves, CRG provides a central technology layer between the rental company and its distribution partners. This significantly simplifies the process of launching new partnerships and managing existing ones.

That has several important benefits for us.

It allows us to bring new distribution partners online faster, expand our international reach and reduce the amount of internal technical work required to support each individual integration. It also makes it easier to manage important elements such as availability, pricing, vehicle groups, terms and conditions, booking flows and other product information across different partners.

Equally important is what happens when something goes wrong. Distribution issues can directly affect sales — incorrect availability, pricing, product information or booking flows can quickly result in lost reservations or poor customer experiences. Having an experienced partner such as CRG involved means those issues can be identified, communicated and resolved much more efficiently.

Their understanding of both the technical environment and the commercial realities of car rental distribution is particularly valuable. They are not simply providing a connection between two systems; they understand why the connection exists, what the broker needs, what the rental company needs and how the entire process ultimately affects the customer.

For me, the biggest benefit is therefore not simply connectivity. It is the ability to scale distribution without having to scale the technical complexity at the same rate.

Over the years, CRG has helped make it easier for the businesses I have represented to connect with more partners, enter new distribution channels and manage those relationships efficiently.
