## Canto Reviews
  ### 1. Impressive and Fast Platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jayni L. | Digital Marketing Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 24, 2024

**What do you like best about Canto?**

We have new assets being created daily across a portfolio of 50+ products for 10+ retailers. Having everything in one place, quickly accessible and easy to share has been a game changer for our company. We use this daily.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

I would love to have AI suggestions built in to help facilitate the creation and use cases for portals and tags.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Organization and quick access of all brand and product assets in one place.

**Official Response from Julie Neumeister:**

> Hi Jayni, thank you for sharing your positive experience with Canto! We're thrilled our platform has been a game changer for your company. ### 2. Easy to use, organizational tool for asset management!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 30, 2024

**What do you like best about Canto?**

We use Canto for managing digital assets for several clients and love the ease of use, organization and how we can collaborate. The feature to share is frequently used!

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

I wish we could add more admins but it comes with an additional cost. But by no means a deal breaker.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Canto allows us to easily organize photoshoot images that will be used in digital assets. The tagging and folders features allows us to better organize images by department, most frequently used, mark any as "do not use", etc. We can then quickly go back and search by the tags, creating efficiencies in the way we manage assets.

  ### 3. Best DAM System!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 05, 2024

**What do you like best about Canto?**

What don't I like about it! Its great! Intuitive and well designed.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

nothing, it is a vrey good system and I would reccomend it !

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Organizing 300,000+ photos!

  ### 4. Our company's solution to working with bulk assets, team projects and quick organisation

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Leisure, Travel & Tourism | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 29, 2024

**What do you like best about Canto?**

By keeping all of our company's assets on Canto we have been able to streamline our asset collection as a team and keep tabs on what we have collated. By having everything in one place we have sped up our ability to source assets that support a variety of projects, with an ability to create easily shared folders with external stakeholders.
When we've had issues we've also been able to reach out to Canto support quite easily.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

As I write we still haven't heard of/ made use of any integration features. As we work with Wordpress the dream would be to have a direct link between the platforms so we don't have a part of the process that sees us uploading assets and then having to download it again for use.

I find that little crashes (especially in the upload stage directly on the desktop) are so commonplace that it's treated as part of the process. An example that is "accepted as part of the process" is when editing to an image finishes, the completion wheel keeps on spinning unless the page is refreshed - the edit always happens, but this is not immediately obvious.

Also there have been some complaints from the wider team that their upload link doesn't work.

Currently we also do not have the ability to provide temporary access to freelancers, which would be a great add.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Previously we didn't have the ability to do quick searches of our existing assets, causing a lot of headache and a great deal of time wasted as we had external PR requests, projects that came up that drew upon existing assets and lots of assets getting lost. Now we know to use Canto as the go-to place to update and keep track of our digital assets.

  ### 5. Simple and Everything You Need

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Colin R. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 14, 2023

**What do you like best about Canto?**

The simplicity of Image Relay is exactly what my team needed. With the onslaught of new tech and software to learn, taking on a new DAM was daunting, but IR made the implementation straight foward and worked to customize what we needed. They're customer service was supberb with quick replies. Uploading has been an easy process with bulk uploading and tags along with good speeds. Downloading has been good with the different formats and sizes for images and videos. The overall value for the features was exactly what we needed.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

THe very few little things that have caught my eye have been when bulk downloading there is a lag of up to 5 minutes to get the zip file link through email, though sometimes it's been almost instaneous. The A.I. tags both are great and off. I guess this is to be expected as it is pointing everything out in an image. I'd really love for their to be a A.I. tagging feature for videos, but as you probably know from doing DAM research, that's a time and process intensive feature and so the very few brands that offer it are charging a lot $ for that feature per minute of video.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Storing photo, video, and branding assets. Utilizing them for content creation within my team and sharing them out to users.

  ### 6. Could change the way we work for the better

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 28, 2024

**What do you like best about Canto?**

Most helpful: Easy way to manage and find the right images. Allows good GDPR compliance in terms of permissions and expiration dates. Relating files is a really useful feature. Nice user interface. Very good customer service and always quick to respond.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

All approval statuses should allow for expiration dates to be set so that GDPR can still be followed even if files aren't viewable to all users. It would be easier if files with asset requests and those without could all be in one portal, without having to create more to link through to. A better way would be to link asset requests to specific folders or albums. And the asset request process is clunky - I wish there was no need to create an asset 'collection' as this is confusing to users.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Making our photos, illustrations and stories searchable and downloadable to all staff. Helping us stay on top of GDPR more thoroughly.

  ### 7. More pros than cons, ease of implementation.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 09, 2024

**What do you like best about Canto?**

We have a portal for internal assets for Sales Reps and Customer Service and that has been a great tool for us.
Ease of use and implementation.
Great Customer Service and support.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

Integration with iStock would be helpful.
Cost to include the entire creative team so Adobe CC connector can be used.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has allowed us to have a common repository of assets for numerous teams within the company.

  ### 8. A good general-use DAM

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ken I. | Media Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2024

**What do you like best about Canto?**

Generally a pretty flexible platform - we've used Canto to publish and share content pretty effectively for an international audience. File management is intuitive for backend.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

There are some limitations around amount of "power users" and some workarounds were needed to ensure effective team use (upload and sharing privileges).

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our business needs for Canto include filesharing, content publishing (mass distribution), and asset management for segmented audiences (by language and geography)

  ### 9. Great program for staying organized

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 26, 2024

**What do you like best about Canto?**

I love how quick it is to pull up images, the storing and organization options, and the face recognition AI.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

Some of the user interface is not intuitive. For example, when typing in a search term Canto will often select another phrase or term and remove what I typed. Then instead of 'search' or 'enter' it has a save button which we never use.

Another odd bit is the selection options; when you select an image, it has the option to select all, but no option to deselect. You have to hit select all before the deselect option is available.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Canto is great at pulling up relevant images and content (as long as we remember to tag!) and is amazing at recognizing faces. The AI facial recognition ability is seriously amazing and has been able to pull up photos from albums we would not have thought of or didn't notice the person was in those shots.

  ### 10. DAM Made Easy

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Noah D. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 16, 2024

**What do you like best about Canto?**

Image Relay is the easiest-to-use, high-functioning digital asset management software. Being able to mass upload assets before easily tagging and sorting them allowed for a smooth implementation when preparing to launch.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

One drawback of this software is not being able to name more than one asset at once, in our use case the title/name of the images is also the name of the product and is the same throughout many assets. Unfortunately, that name has to be edited on each asset, one at a time.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Image Relay allows our network to easily access, download, and share useful assets with immediate satisfaction. This is beneficial because it removes any delay and miscommunication from the buying process.

**Official Response from Phoebe Sweet:**

> Hey Noah, thanks for leaving a review! I'm glad to hear Image Relay is smoothing out your day-to-day processes. As always, feel free to reach out if any questions do arise.

Thanks again!

  ### 11. Comprehensive DAM that's easy for the team to use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ronn R. | Director of Content, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 14, 2024

**What do you like best about Canto?**

Search, tagging, URL hosting, link sharing

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

Downloading and accessing/editing asset properties takes too many clicks.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A searchable and easy to use DAM for the whole team.

  ### 12. Creative Manager

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joey D. | Creative Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 27, 2022

**What do you like best about Canto?**

Image Relay has a user-friendly interface and robust feature set. The platform makes it easy to organize, share and distribute visual assets efficiently. Furthermore, the customer support provided by Image Relay is exceptional, with prompt and responsive assistance.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

Overall, Image Relay is a strong digital asset managment tool, there is always room for growth and refinement in certain areas to better meet the needs of users.

**Recommendations to others considering Canto:**

N/a

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Image Relay efficiently solves the challenge of asset organization and seamless sharing. Moreover, its Product Information Management (PIM) feature greatly simplifies the organization of our product data and imagery, facilitating swift distribution to retailers.

  ### 13. Excellent PLM & Sales Tool System

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Don S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 05, 2023

**What do you like best about Canto?**

I love the ability for Image Relay to be able to generate easy to product pages with key attributes for all teams and the degree of modularity it brings. Ease of use with sales cataogs and other visual tools is such a time saver too, gone are the days of doing 4-6 hours of work with creative teams to generate a catalog. Our integration was handled quickly and efficently with a very supportive account rep who handled implementation handidly. We use this tool every day for product launch and reference.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

The downside is Image Relay utilizes a very manual upload process and often the search function isn't narrow enough even when using key words either missing or capturing too many documents without fully displaying the product files attributes to distungish them.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Image Relay helps to consolidate all the teams onto a single source of truth with easy to read and digest PIM pages for each SKU. It helps us immensely as a growing business to capture final sources in an easy to find and read system for all departments to be serviced.

  ### 14. TO INFINITY - & BEYOND!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bailey C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 26, 2024

**What do you like best about Canto?**

Canto is amazing. Once you are working within Canto, it is incredibly easy to use and overall very intuitive. But honestly, my favorite part about Canto? The customer service!! Holy Cow. Hand in hand the entire way, I have never felt more supported. Great suggestions, quick to answer questions.. working with this team is a DREAM!

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

So far, there have been absolutely zero downsides of Canto. We are loving every minute of it and the multiple ways it is serving our business and customers. Thanks Canto!

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Storage
Organization
Collaboration
Offering our customers something valuable
Easy to navigate
Feels like a custom experience for us and our portal users

  ### 15. This is a great resource for photo acquisition and delivery.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matt "Gus" R. | Director of Projects and Asset Management, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 14, 2024

**What do you like best about Canto?**

The system offers a seamless experience with the ability to send upload links to external contract photographers. It is user-friendly for in-house staff, ensuring smooth operation. Additionally, it supports efficient sharing of photos with both internal team members and external partners.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

Not able to view upload links in the app.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gathering photos from multiple sources and distrbuting them thru one venue.

  ### 16. Powerful Digital Asset Management, easy learning curve

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Elicia W. | Digital Marketing Manager, Non-Profit Organization Management, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 29, 2023

**What do you like best about Canto?**

As a user of multiple types of Digital Asset Management platforms, and a heavy researcher into all the options out there, I have been really pleased with using ImageRelay. The way the assets display with the full information panel is really nice, and I like the intuitive organization structure. The advanced search and filters work really well. It's a great solution for our global team and the various players who need to submit or access our assets in different levels.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

I wish if there are "organizational" collections that they would just show up in my Collections tab. I have had to find them via external links and then favorite them, for it to show up there.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a global nonprofit we have huge numbers of assets from our field partners, and ImageRelay allows us to store, archive, and search them, as well as have a solid, sustainable workflow to receive and organize new assets from our global team.

  ### 17. Canto Review August 2024

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 14, 2024

**What do you like best about Canto?**

Canto is a useful photo (+ video) database to store our churches archive of content. It's simple to categorize and use efficiently.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

It does get bogged and can be very slow at times.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It holds our entire photo database and archives the content in a way we can access and recover what we need, when we need it.

  ### 18. Best online D.A.M. system we've used.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ronn S. | Director of Content, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2024

**What do you like best about Canto?**

Ease of use, the search capabilities!, and the ability to share with external stakeholders.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

1) The very limited number of users who can upload and the expense of adding additional ones
2) (if we are nit-picking) The two page clicks required to download assets

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Single source for stoarge and access
Makes searcing for content fast and easy
Makes sharing content easy

**Official Response from Julie Neumeister:**

> Hi Ronn - we're delighted to hear that Canto has been the best online D.A.M. system you've used, what an honor! Your feedback regarding the limited number of users who can upload and the additional cost is noted, and we'll consider this as we strive to improve our offerings. We also appreciate your comment about the two-page clicks for downloading assets and are looking into optimizing this process. Thank you for choosing Canto!

-Julie

  ### 19. Good, needs some tweaks

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michelle J. | Marketing Coordinator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 31, 2024

**What do you like best about Canto?**

It's good for organizing and locating our library of images for various email and social media campaigns. Our team uses it every day!

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

The search function could be improved so it's not case-sensitive and required less precise search terms.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps us to keep our image and video library organized and accessible to our various retailers.

  ### 20. Time Saver Extraordinaire!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2024

**What do you like best about Canto?**

The amount of time we've saved since using Canto is incredible. The search engine is so intelligent, truly a game changer for our small organization. The customer support is top-notch.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

The usability of the backend can use some tweaking. A bit clunky until you get used to it. The customization for landing pages/portals is also a bit primitive for such a powerful platform. Would love some more WYSIWYG functionality built in.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It would take hours to search amongst our thousands of photos to find what we are looking for -- this has solved for that

  ### 21. Greta Platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Denzel P. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 17, 2024

**What do you like best about Canto?**

I love the layout of Image Relay it is simple, easy, and convenient to use and navigate through. This is also a great tool for managers to use who are over entry level positions, as it is super easy to teach and very practical.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

Sometimes if there are a lot of files, if not maed coreectly with the proper naming convention, sometimes content can get lost.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sharing content easily across all departments who have access.

**Official Response from Phoebe Sweet:**

> Hey Denzel!

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review, it means a lot to us when customers take the time to write down their thoughts about our platform. I'm glad to hear that you've enjoyed the layout of Image Relay and found it easy to use and teach. As always, please feel free to reach out with any questions that may arise.

Cheers!

  ### 22. Onboarding and set up is smooth for all

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Trisha H. | Associate Director of Digital Communications, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2023

**What do you like best about Canto?**

We vetted a dozen DAM options when considering the right move for our 30 years worth of digital assets. Canto stood apart because of the combination of consideration of its staff and face recognition and related industry tools being the right fit. Thus far we've been very happy with the move as onboarding and setting up our DAM has been clear and smooth. Our implementation manager is communicative and tailors support to fit our team. And the interface has a very brief learning curve to maximalize on its usefulness.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

We haven't encountered any negatives of note thus far. The biggest issue is understanding the nuances between tags and keywords. While Canto has many resources to help various industries and companies, the Canto-specific terminology baked into the DAM can be a bit hard to adapt to.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Canto is our way of combining digital assets spread out across multiple cloud storage options and physical drives into a single, searchable warehouse. The tagging and other search features will allow us to better share content across our team and position us to better leverage photo and video assets for years to come.

  ### 23. A very robust DAM for organizing a media library.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Henry P. | Digital Art Director, Marketing and Advertising, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2023

**What do you like best about Canto?**

I was hesitant to start using canto when I first jumped in- the dated UI doesn't instill much confidence. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that Canto offers more features than it's competitors. Being able to organize assets by type, date and tags is extremely simple. Creating users, assigning access and selecting roles is a breeze. The approval tags are extremely handy for quickly locating finalized content. Being able to download multiple formats of a particular asset is something we came to rely on. You can quickly watermark items, which saved us having to open up photoshop. The versioning system saved us from multiple stupid mistakes. I love how Canto groups files automatically, saving us time. Canto is a very robust Digital Asset Management system and I would have zero problem recommending it to anyone!

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

The main thing to dislike is that the UI feels dated or unrefined when compared to competitors. When you get past that, there is a lot to love about this platform! This is nitpicky, but I wish sharing an asset link required a few less clicks.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows us to quickly organize approved vs unapproved assets which saves us time!

  ### 24. A lot of bang for your buck compared to other options we looked at.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2024

**What do you like best about Canto?**

File organization is a breeze, creating curated links to share assets with external partners is super easy, and upload links for team members who don't have direct access to our account is great too.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

Sometimes performance can seem a little slow.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Prior to using Canto, our assets were scattered across network file shares, personal drives, and various Sharepoint libraries. With Canto we have a super convenient centralized repository that's so easy to use, that folks don't just drop them in random file shares instead of Canto. Searching is great, and sharing with external partners is great too.

  ### 25. Canto has revolutionized asset management for this marketing team

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 22, 2024

**What do you like best about Canto?**

My asests are finally tagged, organized and accessible to anyone with internet access.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

I wish there was a catchall library for all assets. Currently, Canto requires you to place assets in an album, but I'd like to be able to upload assets without being forced to put them in an album, especially, with AI search features coming on board, albums seem less and less important.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Canto has allowed me to share our digital assets with everyone on my team, division, organization and external partner.

  ### 26. Canto Review!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

  ### 27. A fantastic way to organize photos!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2024

**What do you like best about Canto?**

Canto makes organizing, sorting, and sharing photos with staff, donors, and external partners incredibly easy! I love the tagging capabilities, and the support that Canto staff provide is helpful to learn the best ways to maximize our use of the program.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

Canto is fantastic, but I wish there was a quicker way to move photos in and out of cold storage.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My organization works with thousands of photos on a regular basis, and Canto is essential to maintaining an up-to-date photo library and helps us with searchability. This is a huge asset for our nonprofit.

  ### 28. Finally an Easy Way to Store, Share, and Organize Assets!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Laura K. | Communications Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 28, 2020

**What do you like best about Canto?**

I love how easy it is to search for our assets. We had no asset management system before Canto, so using it is a breath of fresh air. We are very intentional about how we tag and describe our content (mainly photos and videos) so they're easy to look up in the future.

I also really appreciate the customer service. The team is easy to reach out to and are quick to respond to our needs!

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

It's hard to say as they are continually improving and fixing bugs that come up for us.

**Recommendations to others considering Canto:**

Double-check how much space you need and how many people will be using the software. From there slowly build up the content before deploying companywide.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using Canto for saving space with our photos and videos, helping with organization and searching for assets, and document control. It is also great with sharing large documents with outside groups.

  ### 29. Life is more efficient with Canto

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David B. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2023

**What do you like best about Canto?**

What we really love is the ease of use. I use Canto daily to find and share assets both internally and externally. We recently went through a re-implementation to clean up and organize our structure and simplify our process. The support we received from our implementation specialist was invaluable and helped us get even more value from the product. We even discovered several features we are now using to increase our efficiency.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

I don't currently see any downsides to using Canto. With the volume of work we do, having the ability to leverage our digital assets quickly makes life better.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We add 50-100 assets to our library every month. After many years of using Canto, we now have several hundred thousand assets in the system. When we need an asset for a project we can easily find and know the status of an image quickly and easily. Canto saves us time every day.

  ### 30. A Great Photo Organizing & Sharing Tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daisy B. | Marketing Assistant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 16, 2022

**What do you like best about Canto?**

I love how user-friendly the software is. I love how it is cloud-based, so when we are working remotely or in-office I have access to everything I need. I also enjoy how we can upload photos AND videos. It is used by our entire office

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

At times, we have had issues with the loading time for our web browser, I understand this could also be a problem on our end, but I have had the problem on multiple wifi connections which makes me think its canto. At times it is also hard to know if we are uploading a small file or a large file, because canto will lessen quality in image preview regardless

**Recommendations to others considering Canto:**

Make sure to keep your assets organized for optimal usage and navigating

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Canto is helping us solve the problem of sharing photos with others outside of our office, in a safe and secure way where they cannot download them or other access customizations

  ### 31. A powerful tool for Asset Management!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Arnold U. | Graphic Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 16, 2022

**What do you like best about Canto?**

Intuitive User Interface: You appreciate the user-friendly and intuitive interface that caters to users of all technical levels, making navigation effortless.

Robust Organization and Search: The comprehensive organization and search capabilities, including tagging and metadata options, enable you to manage and access digital assets efficiently.

Collaboration Tools: Canto's collaboration tools have greatly improved your workflow by simplifying asset sharing and ensuring version control, enhancing productivity within your team.

Exceptional Customer Support: The exceptional customer support from Canto's team, characterized by their responsiveness and commitment to user satisfaction, is another aspect you like.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

One aspect that could benefit from improvement in Canto's product is its AI integration. While the platform excels in various facets of digital asset management, the AI capabilities appear to be relatively weak. A more robust AI integration could bring valuable features such as automated tagging and content recognition, which would enhance workflow automation and asset insights for users. Although this is an area in need of development, it doesn't overshadow the many positive aspects of Canto's product, which remains an impressive digital asset management solution.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Canto is addressing several critical problems in the realm of digital asset management, and its solutions have been highly beneficial to me and my organization. First and foremost, Canto streamlines the organization and accessibility of digital assets, solving the problem of asset chaos and time-consuming searches. With its robust tagging and metadata features, it ensures that we can efficiently find and manage our extensive media library. Moreover, Canto's collaboration tools tackle the issue of disjointed workflows by simplifying asset sharing and version control, fostering better teamwork and boosting our productivity. Additionally, its stringent security measures address concerns about data protection and asset security, particularly vital when dealing with sensitive materials. While the AI integration could be improved, Canto's comprehensive solutions have significantly enhanced our overall digital asset management, saving time, improving collaboration, and providing peace of mind regarding asset security.

  ### 32. Easy Learning Curve

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Claire M. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2023

**What do you like best about Canto?**

Canto is super easy for beginners to use. It's easy to change settings, create portals, organize, add metadata, upload photos, etc. I like the ability to sync to Box, and I like the easy of workspaces.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

I dislike how only the most popular Tags are ever shown in the filter panel. This is limiting. I dislike how difficult and unintuitive it can be to clear out a search: e.g., when I run a text search and get no results, I have to return to the folder I was previously in, in order to run another search, otherwise I am still in that no results search and nothing will be returned. I wish the slate was wiped clean with each search, so to speak, or that there was a 'Clear Search' button. I really dislike how empty metadata fields display in the portal and how you have to hover to see the full text because the character limit for display is so small.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using Canto to organize hundreds of thousands of images and videos and offer an access portal to them to members of organizations. We also use it to hold and display brand guidelines and assets.

  ### 33. Our Experience (so far) with Canto

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Greg T. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2023

**What do you like best about Canto?**

Canto has allowed us to quickly do away with a mess of shared network drives over which we had very little control regarding access or what was added or deleted. Now everything is in Canto, which is searchable and also filterable using fields that we created and defined. Loving the document control where I can see a history of updates and go back to earlier revs. We've also taken advantage of the Portals tool to create a series of document collections based on our main product lines and the industries we serve. Finally, we have built a customer facing material database (we are a plastics manufacturer/distributor) and document technical library that pull relevant documents directly from Canto, via the Canto API, and display them on websites built on the HubSpot CMS. No more maintaining a separate docs repository for those tools. Very happy with the product and the support team has been very responsive and helpful when we've needed API support.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

We have a big library and it has been a challenge to find some assets via the search tool, but the search itself is very configurable and with some tweaking it works fine. I think the portals could be a little more configurable, visually, and I find the editing tools there a little quirky, but that's really all I can think of.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We had documents all over the place and now everything is in one place, searchable, with just a few people empowered to keep the library up to date. We have really taken advantage of the API to also display the documents in our Canto library on the web.

  ### 34. Great Visual DAM System

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Leyna S. | Photographer/Editor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 13, 2019

**What do you like best about Canto?**

Canto is a very easy-to-use DAM system. It is highly customizable--not only in tagging but in branding--making it feel like your own. Canto has provided our team with an easy solution for storing and searching for our assets. Batch editing streamlines adding tags and keywords. Portals and collection links are great ways to share certain assets with our distributors, retailers, and licensers. We have also had great experiences with customer support; they are quick to help solve any issues and make sure that we are happy with the system.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

Metadata tags from Bridge or Finder are not always imported, so more often than not, assets must be tagged within Canto itself. Tags also do not always carry over after input. Assets in collection links cannot be removed after adding.

**Recommendations to others considering Canto:**

Take advantage of the onboarding period to customize the system to your company branding and get familiar with tagging and keywording assets. Do not hesitate to reach out to Canto customer support--they are extremely helpful with any questions and problems you might have.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Canto has given my team a place to manage all of our approved assets and share them with distributors, retailers, and licensers. It also allows us to have a system to visually search through with a custom made file structure to find assets internally rather than digging through files on our main server or Dropbox.

  ### 35. great digital assets management system

**What do you like best about Canto?**

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

the search function is not that accurate when things are managed into folders.
graphic designers says uploading assets to canto can take a while

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ease of sharing large files to other users

  ### 36. Easy to use and flexible to fit our needs.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2024

**What do you like best about Canto?**

We started using Canto for digital asset management about 5 years or more ago now. It has been essential in helping us manage the image rights for our digital assets. I particularly like the ability to customize the fields, tags and filters to easier sort and track images and digital ressources.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

There is a bit of a learning curve upfront, but honestly it becomes pretty intuitive once you've started using it for your workflows.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's helping our company track image rights usage, which is essential for our operation.

  ### 37. It’s a solid DAM system.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adam R. | Freelance Photographer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 30, 2024

**What do you like best about Canto?**

Canto is a solid DAM system. It manages digital assets well.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

The platform and design feel dated. The lack of customizing external facing sites for clients is a letdown.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It gives us a place to store digital assets that we share amongst our company and with clients.

  ### 38. Great Asset Management Tool!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alyssa W. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 27, 2024

**What do you like best about Canto?**

Canto is an awesome tool. Its user interface is exceptionally intuitive and user-friendly once you start working with it. The support team is there every step of the way, offering fantastic suggestions and responding promptly to any questions.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

We haven't had an issues with Canto so far!

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's helping our team have a centralized hub to hold all of our assets. Before Canto, we all just saved all of our assets to our own individual hard drives. This solution has been amazing to easily access all assets across our team!

  ### 39. The damn DAM you've been looking for...

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2024

**What do you like best about Canto?**

The organization and searchability of assets is so crucial to what I do, I couldn't be happier to find a platform that allows me to do so with such ease and efficiency.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

My biggest thing at this point would be the ability to add review comments to share links, it kind of stinks to have to leave comments through portals if you're a consumer.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The quickness that files are found and able to be used through a one-stop-shop source of truth is awesome, I appreciate that very much.

  ### 40. Roundtable6 - Canto

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tyler H. | Graphic Specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2022

**What do you like best about Canto?**

Metadata tagging. I like that I have complete control over what SEO terms both the client and internally we can use to find a specific project or asset. I also love the portal capabilities and how we can customize how each portal will look for each client.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

So far the only things that's happened with using Canto that I wish was addressed, was I wish there was a way to go to the activity panel and select what user(s) I want to review. Since we have a lot of power seats and external users in Canto, I wish I could see a report on what users were doing inside the portal.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest would have to be that we now have an easy-to-use hosting site for our clients to access all the projects, campaigns and individual assets we've created for them over the years

  ### 41. Great Source for Digital Asset Management for Far Less Cost

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anne L. | Creative Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 31, 2024

**What do you like best about Canto?**

Image Relay gives searchable, shareable functions that are all that most teams need at a fraction of the cost of thier competors. It is easy to use and the team does a great job working with you through the implementation steps. This is the second company where I have implemented this system so I really believe in it.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

They are still refining their integrations but I continue to see inprovement on that.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our team spent hours finding and send things to member of the staff and outside contractors. Now its easy with self service acess for staff and quick sharablity for contractors.

**Official Response from Phoebe Sweet:**

> Hey Anne, thanks for the review! It means a lot to us to hear from customers like you. I'm glad to hear Image Relay is easy to use for your team and you're seeing the positive impacts--like time saving. As always, feel free to reach out if any questions do arise.

Thanks again!

  ### 42. A Superior Photo and Video Repository

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Katherine J. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 28, 2024

**What do you like best about Canto?**

I love the Smart Search feature. It is highly skilled in searching for very specific things within the imagery, allowing me to find just what I am looking for, whether it is tagged or not.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

I wish there was a way to link our rights approval documents and model realeases to a file.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is a great way for our organization to keep all of our photos and video in one place, allow for access to multiple partners, share out links, and allow partners to upload new content.

  ### 43. We use Canto all the time

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ryan B. | Center Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2024

**What do you like best about Canto?**

Lots of grapshics and pdfs we can access for our work.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

Need regular changes to the materials to keep us looking fresh.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Right sizing items to fit the appropriate media channel we are using. For example, Instagram requiring cropping of pics to fit their display requirements.

  ### 44. Canto has revolutionized our organization of our photos and brand materials.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Real Estate | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 24, 2024

**What do you like best about Canto?**

I really like the variety of features, accessibility for our staff, and the ease of adding materials and branding into our account.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

It sometimes has long loading times. It is also buggy at times. It will show me duplicates of files sometimes. I am not sure why.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Canto is making our photos and digital assets easier to organize and tag, which is making it easier for our staff to access and search for files. It also saves on communication. Staff are able to upload photos with descriptions and tags, giving me all of the info I need for social media and e-newsletter content. The style guide makes all of our brand materials more easily available for staff and external partners.

  ### 45. Highly Recommend

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andy L. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 07, 2024

**What do you like best about Canto?**

Image Relay is a very robust media management platform that helps us house all of our assets (photos, videos, documents, design files) in one place. It's an intuitive interface which enables us to stay organized and easily distribute any type of media with just a few clicks.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

Initially, it takes a bit of effort to upload, organize and tag your media, but it's worth it in order to fully maximize the system.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It enables better storage, organization and distribution of our digital assets.

**Official Response from Phoebe Sweet:**

> Hey Andy,

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review, it means a lot to hear from customers about their experience with our platform. I'm also happy to hear that Image Relay is optimizing the storage, organization, and distribution of your assets! As always, please reach out with any questions that might arise.

Cheers!

  ### 46. Canto Compatibility

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2024

**What do you like best about Canto?**

I like that I'm able to upload larger image files, generate URL's, and share said files through the platform.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

Its UX isn't the most intuitive and its browser compatibility is really disappointing. I'm a Firefox user and it is really glitchy and has a lot of trouble running on FF, I end up using Chrome whenever I need to use Canto.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's allowing us to organize and tag all of our company's photos making it easy to search, organize, and share.

  ### 47. Its what every Social Media Manager is missing...

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Paul N. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 19, 2023

**What do you like best about Canto?**

If you are a social media manager you have to use this platform. It out competes all other data management competitors on the market. I've been able to leverage Image Relay to create a process for sourcing user generated content that makes it efficient enough to publish 365 days out of the year.

In the last 2.5 years our brands organic social media has been able to outperform much larger outdoor industry competitors because it minimizes the time it takes to acquire content. It's as simple as sending a link, communicating your objective and executing your plan.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

There isn't an affordable price point offering for smaller buisnesses and independent contractors to buy in at. If you had a larger sample size of social media managers like myself using the platform, i'm confident your buisness would pick up, and your platform would grow. Dropbox, WeTransfer, Google Drive, and all other comparable services make it extremely challenging to aquire content. It's a massive hurtle for someone in my position.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Image Realy allows me to instantly communicate my content aquisition goals, and immediately recieve the content . It's difficult for professional photographers, videographers, or everyday people to send you what they've captured. Whether it's on their phone or on their desktop, Image Relay has changed the game.

The upload link feature is critical. I can easily walk someone through the process and while I'm on the phone talking to them, I can explain the process, and what the content populate in an organized folder. Everytime I walk someone through my process they comment on how easy it is. I struggled with aquiring content through Dropbox or Google Drive before I learned how to use the feature.

  ### 48. Canto is a solid, affordable DAM solution with a nice set of features.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Timothy G. | President, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2023

**What do you like best about Canto?**

The customer service and onboarding manager were very helpful before and during the whole process. They were available to answer any questions, walked through test scenarios to identify solutions for our specific business.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

My least favorite item about Canto would be the mobile app experience. The mobile does work but is not very user friendly, lacks functionality and the UI needs improvement. We often revert to using the browser version versus the app which would ideally be more convenient.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Canto is solving our continual need for additional onsite server space, managing file backups while organizing our assets making them available to all team members both on- and off-site. Using Canto resolves the issues of finding our assets which were spread out across servers, external hard drives, mobile phones, laptops, USB drives, offsite at vendor offices, and more.

**Official Response from Maeghan Durbin:**

> Hi Timothy– thank you for this feedback! I’m so happy to hear that your onboarding experience was so positive and that Canto’s platform has enabled your team to efficiently manage your digital assets. We appreciate your UX feedback regarding the mobile app experience. Ensuring our customers have a top-of-the-line experience is our priority, and our product team is actively working on product updates to enhance platform usability. Your account manager will reach out to you directly to find a solution with the mobile app that best supports the needs of you and your team.
Thanks for being a valued customer,
Maeghan

  ### 49. Comprehensive + Intuitive + User Friendly Interface= Image Relay

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kristina E. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 17, 2023

**What do you like best about Canto?**

There are many helpful aspects about Image Relay, but the few I'd like to highlight are our onboarding process, the customized tagging and the user interface.
Our onboarding process was extremely smooth, welcoming and comprehensive. Image Relay had conversations with us to understand our needs and tailor our membership. They were thoughtful about which features would serve us best and we feel very supported in using Image Relay in a flexible manner going forward.
Being able to tag images and videos is perfect for non profit events and campaigns. It is easy to tag things and come back to them without feeling disorganized. As a member of the communications team, I use Image Relay weekly if not daily.
Lastly, the interface is extremely user friendly, so interns and consultants alike have no trouble accessing shared folders and finding the content they need in a timely manner.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

Honestly, I have not experienced a feature of Image Relay that has not been helpful.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Streamlining the process of keeping digital assets organized, easily identifiable and sharable.

  ### 50. Great tool; great applications
