What problems is Canix solving and how is that benefiting you?
Canix recently rolled out an MCP connection, and within the last month I connected Claude to Canix. Since then, I’ve been able to create tailored reports.
Before the MCP connection, producing an inventory report was a very manual process. I’d export the item availability report, drop it into a pivot table, and then figure out which products were out of stock (since anything out of stock doesn’t appear on the item availability report). From there, I’d manually review inventory to look for aged material, and manually calculate available weeks on hand based on sales figures that also had to be entered by hand. All in, it took about four hours per state. Because of the prep work required, we only did this once a week, which meant we were planning around—and reacting to—information that was already outdated by the end of the week.
Now I have Claude projects set up for each state, and I’ve turned a four-hour, once-a-week task into a 10-minute daily task. I run the reports every day just by typing “Ready for today’s report” into the Claude project. I’ve also been able to evolve the report to capture more content and measurables than ever before. Within two weeks, we achieved the best mix of available inventory I’ve seen in my two years as Inventory Manager, simply because we now have easy access to real-time information.
