## BuiltWith Reviews
 ### 1. Great for Tech Stack Insights, but Hard to Work with at Scale

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 10, 2025

**What do you like best about BuiltWith?**

It’s great for uncovering what technologies different companies use. We use it to identify websites running our competitors’ tools and to understand the tech environment of companies our sales team is meeting with. It’s especially useful for building profiles and segmenting by technology type, which helps with sales conversations and ICP analysis.

**What do you dislike about BuiltWith?**

The level of detail in the technology data is impressive. It’s one of the few tools that gives you a clear view into a company’s tech stack across thousands of websites. Working with BuiltWith data at scale is not easy. The CSV exports are large and often need a lot of manual cleanup. The integrations work, but they’re not as smooth as they could be, and you often need to manage the data manually to keep things accurate.

**What problems is BuiltWith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

BuiltWith helps us discover which companies are using specific technologies, including our competitors. It also lets us create profiles of companies before meetings so our sales team understands their tech environment. This context helps us tailor our conversations, target accounts more effectively, and spot new opportunities based on tech adoption patterns.

Sometimes it provides wrong information , customer support services to be improved

**What problems is BuiltWith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps me to scrap information about any website.

 ### 9. Find out what the website is using in ONE SECOND

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sam L. | Sales Development Representative, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 20, 2022

**What do you like best about BuiltWith?**

The best thing about BuiltWith is that It can instantly tell me what the website uses in just one click. As someone who works in sales, I find it very helpful to know what software the website uses, whether it is HubSpot, Google Ads, or any Lead Generation platform.

**What do you dislike about BuiltWith?**

BuiltWith is an ideal software for cold calling. However, if I were to be picky, I would say I wish the paid subscription was a little bit cheaper or that they allowed credits for the premium version. Maybe a free trial to test it would be great.

**What problems is BuiltWith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

BuiltWith is an excellent tool for preparation. From my experience in Sales, nobody likes going into a call with very little information. In just one click or one second, while the phone is ringing, I can see everything a company is using, allowing me to know what to say the moment the prospect answers.

 ### 10. Accurate and powerful tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 26, 2023

**What do you like best about BuiltWith?**

Builtwith is an accurate tool for lead generation as it helps you to know correctly about what your prospect companies are using. It makes easier for you to target your prospect with better knowledge about them.

**What do you dislike about BuiltWith?**

Builtwith could be better if it does not collapse as it sometimes does. Plus, it could be more cost effective so that more companies could use it to enhance their business growth.

**What problems is BuiltWith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is helping me to accurately mine data about my target companies. It is a powerful tool. I can give more detailed information about the prospect which further helps in business growth directly or indirectly.

 ### 11. An Amazing Prospecting and Monitoring Tool for Revenue Organization

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 28, 2022

**What do you like best about BuiltWith?**

BuiltWith provides extremely critical information for your prospects and clients. It helps in Competitive Analysis, Monitoring, Business Intelligence, Lead Generation and Nurturing. Being a plug-in it is as simple as a click-and-function tool. The information provided along with paid or unpaid subscriptions of the entire tech stack of an enterprise helps us evaluate our outreach in a more personalized manner. The data gets updated almost immediately so while demoing or POC to a client, we get to know what all other options are being considered, helping us propose a valuable offer to them. It adds details under Tech, Detailed, Meta, Relationship, and Redirects.

**What do you dislike about BuiltWith?**

Some of the details like company address, employees under Meta tab, like Contact Information etc are not updated and can be checked and populated correctly. Also website information may not be accurate for some websites.

**What problems is BuiltWith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

BuiltWith is helping the entire revenue organization from sales to marketing, to customer success to account managers in providing all details related to a customer website which are extremely critical to our success.

 ### 12. The best internal communication tool!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Madhav S. | Merchant Success Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 07, 2022

**What do you like best about BuiltWith?**

Helped a lot in scouting potential customers by analysing their tech stack. Also helps when you can see their revenue as well to accurately estimate their purchasing power and approach accordingly.

**What do you dislike about BuiltWith?**

Not really useful for smaller websites as the data was sometimes unreliable. Would have been better if they could get the contact information or personas associated to the business.

**What problems is BuiltWith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The best feature was obviously the tech stack analysism you could see if the prospect is using some other tool similar to yours and to see if your existing clients have started using your competitors.

 ### 13. So cool, so smooth, so helpful!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael A. | Senior Sales Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 28, 2021

**What do you like best about BuiltWith?**

BuiltWith is a super easy tool that provides a ton of valuable information for prospecting and qualifying. The information provided is straightforward, and their target account list generation is smooth and easily imported into HubSpot or other CRMs/Outreach tools. I always check it before I make contact with someone new! I love it!

**What do you dislike about BuiltWith?**

What is there to dislike? Maybe automated syncing with CRMs would be nice, but I'm not afraid of a little work to hit my sales quotas.

**What problems is BuiltWith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are pre-qualifying and filtering target accounts to have more effective outreach and not embarrass ourselves by getting on a call with someone we can't support.

 ### 14. Super helpful extension for Sales Person

None that I recall of. had a great experience using it

I have used it when i was working for an Optimization company and this came across as a very user friendly tool

 ### 15. Good platform, just ugly data and pricy

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jonathan K. | Sales, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 05, 2021

**What do you like best about BuiltWith?**

The plug-in extension made evaluating companies' websites super easy and efficient. Most of the time they had accurate information that allowed for me to leverage said information to create personalized outreach. When I was leveraging the builtwith platform, it allowed for me to confidently make statements regarding a companies software usage, thus being able to sell more specifically into that organization. Additionally, Builtwith provides historical data as well, so it serves as a great method of measure if they had previously been a client of my current company. I am a huge fan of the information and insights that Builtwith provides, and I would love to continue using builtwith. They have a google chrome extension that is absolutely fantastic and I have really enjoyed using it. I just hope that they can cleanup their current data exports so that BuiltWith can be used at scale.

**What do you dislike about BuiltWith?**

The platform is very very expensive. Beyond that, the data outputs I get from the lists they generate is so unorganized that it is almost impossible for me to ingest it into my CRM. Its a whole lot of awesome data, but nothing I can really do with it since its so dirty. I struggle to understand why the output of builtwith cannot provide data in a clean and understandable fashion. Especially considering they leverage URLs, but then display obscure URLs in the exported data. Just simply pulling the companies name, rather than their URL to categorize them could be a very simple fix to this issue.

**Recommendations to others considering BuiltWith:**

Builtwith is an excellent tool for companies to leverage when focused on selling into a specific set of users. When prospecting/reaching out to prospects, having the information Builtwith provides is incredibly useful and directly leads to sales. But, when trying to generate large amounts of data to enrich your current data, Builtwith falls short. With a highly confusing layout for their data, Builtwith does not make importing data an easy task (I wonder if this is done on purpose). If I were to ingest all the data provided by BuiltWith, it would likely result in an extensive data cleanup project that someone in my role cannot focus upon. If Builtwith could decrease their current price of almost $500/month or created more ingestible export data, then I think this is a must-have tool. But until then, Builtwith needs to focus on improving their data export to allow users to leverage their product confidently.

**What problems is BuiltWith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Understanding what softwares companies are leveraging that directly integrate with the offering we provide. BuiltWith has done a great job addressing these issues on a singular basis, ie. when I am on a companies specific website. But, when it comes to list generation, BuiltWith has created more problems than solutions, since they provide 0 integrations with outside platforms, and do not provide their data in a clean ingestible fashion.

 ### 16. Knowing what is working behind a website.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Taguchi Y. | Managing Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 09, 2022

**What do you like best about BuiltWith?**

Builtwith technology profiler is my essential chrome add-on to audit technology-rich websites. It helps me uncover the technology stack implemented for digital marketing as well as the platform that supports the website. There is no trick or knowledge required. Simply hit the button and you will have a holistic report of the subject website.
If you are working in an agency, you would love playing with the Reports feature, in which you can set particular technology and list up websites that are using it.

**What do you dislike about BuiltWith?**

I would love to have a data export feature.

**What problems is BuiltWith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm using Builtwith to run a quick audit for the competitor study. It provides an overall understanding of the system behind the subject.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2020

**What do you like best about BuiltWith?**

I enjoy that you can easily put in the criteria you are looking for and see a list of companies with the different types of software they are using for their business. For example, If I want to target every single company that is using the Shopify Platform, all I need to do it generate a report for it and I will get thousands of potential leads that I can reach out to. I love the simplicity of it and would recommend other people to try it out.

**What do you dislike about BuiltWith?**

This can be a bit expensive for a monthly subscription if you are looking to do a test run.

**Recommendations to others considering BuiltWith:**

Give it a try. I think they let you signup and test the platform pretty quick and you can see some sample data to see if this will get you what you want.

**What problems is BuiltWith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was trying to figure out which companies were using certain software so I can outreach to the right prospects.

 ### 23. BuiltWith - Great way to quickly find the eCommerce platform of the URL

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Evan A. | eCommerce Strategist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 05, 2019

**What do you like best about BuiltWith?**

I love that I can use the free account and still be able to view which eCommerce platform the site may be on today. It helps us do a small amount of research prior to discussing an website with the merchant.

**What do you dislike about BuiltWith?**

I can only view 5 detailed pages on the free account per day. As my pipeline grows, I could definitely see me upgrading to the paid version.

**What problems is BuiltWith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's great to see some underlying softwares being used by eCommerce merchants. Even if the BuiltWith results may be slightly outdated, it helps us continue to ask the relevant questions right from the start of the conversation.

 ### 24. Great tool for seeing what sites are BuiltWith

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joshua S. | Account Manager, Marketing and Advertising, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 21, 2019

**What do you like best about BuiltWith?**

BuiltWith is a nifty Chrome extension that has a great freemium offering. You can pay to get detailed analytics on every site's building blocks including start and end dates for each plugin being used. For someone in tech sales, it helps me identify if prospects currently use our vendors, if they use a competitor, or if they don't have any system in place at all.

**What do you dislike about BuiltWith?**

Because it is free, not all sites are have a list of the tech they use, or it's a partial or outdated list. There is a paid version that you can subscribe to that grants you access to more detailed information, but this does not fill in the blanks left on some sites' results.

**Recommendations to others considering BuiltWith:**

Definitely give it a try if you need to know your prospect's website building blocks. So far I've been happy with the free version, but the paid version seems very powerful and I may ask my company to buy a subscription.

**What problems is BuiltWith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use BuiltWith for sales prospecting to identify if a prospect's website has a need for our services.

 ### 25. Useful tool for knowing how a website is built

**What do you dislike about BuiltWith?**

In its premium version is a bit expansive

**What problems is BuiltWith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I used it in order to suggest possible integrations to my leads

 ### 26. Essential to my prospecting research

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 01, 2019

**What do you like best about BuiltWith?**

BuiltWith was essential to my prospecting discovery. Being able to have the insight into what platform potential customers have built their web sites on let me know whether or not we would be compatible. Finding out if a company is not compatible with our Solution let me pull them from my list and saved me a lot of time on dialing in and then finding out there was no reason to prospect there in the first place.

**What do you dislike about BuiltWith?**

Some of the information was inaccurate. I'm not sure how often the free version updates or how the specifics of that all works, but it would be frustrating when I would make determinations based on the information provided that turned out to be wrong.

**Recommendations to others considering BuiltWith:**

Great tool, easy to ease, benefits are real and the cost is nothing.

**What problems is BuiltWith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This saved me a lot of time. The benefits when BuiltWith is accurate greatly outweigh the time lost when it might be wrong. I would say it was accurate about 80% of the time within the free version.

 ### 27. Very useful to analyse website

The chrome extension of the tool is super cool. With just one click you get all the technologies a website has and it helps me prepare well for my call with the customer. By just looking at the data I am in a much better position to give the custom integration solution to my customer.

**What do you dislike about BuiltWith?**

Sometimes it does not work on a couple of websites. I think it's because the websites are too new or I don't know.

**Recommendations to others considering BuiltWith:**

It's a one-click solution for someone who wants to know all the technologies used on a website. Amazing to use.

**What problems is BuiltWith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The customer website identification.

 ### 29. BuiltWith review

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ryan C. | Senior Manager, Account Management, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2018

**What do you like best about BuiltWith?**

I like that BuiltWith generally is more accurate than the competitive tools that I have used in my technology searches.

**What do you dislike about BuiltWith?**

I dislike that there is no indication as to how much a company is spending on the technologies as it just shows what tech they use.

**Recommendations to others considering BuiltWith:**

Adding a feature that shows the estimated dollar amount of tech spend would be great.

**What problems is BuiltWith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

BuiltWith allows me to research companies with a click of a button rather than spending time on the web hunting down technology information.

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 05, 2019

**What do you like best about BuiltWith?**

When evlauting this system, it seemed very easy to use and intuative. I was excited to learn about this since I follow up with and qualify leads.

**What do you dislike about BuiltWith?**

I didn't use long enough to determine issues because I left the company before a decision was made to purchase, not purchase, or go with a competitor.

**What problems is BuiltWith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

lead generation & analysis when I was under Marketing Department

 ### 34. Builtwith Review

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 14, 2018

**What do you like best about BuiltWith?**

Since I do a ton of prospecting, Builtwith helps me open up conversations and identify worth while accounts of targeting. A lot of the time, tech stacks are hidden which makes it really hard to reach out to companies who might have an actual need for Datadog.

**What do you dislike about BuiltWith?**

I dislike that some times the information is inaccurate.

**What problems is BuiltWith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am trying to appropriately outreach to companies who are hosted in the cloud. To do this I need to have an understanding of what their tech stack is and what their company is built on so I can appropriately reach out for the right reason.

 ### 35. Very helpful to find out what the company's site and applications are written in

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 14, 2018

**What do you like best about BuiltWith?**

Great insight with a lot of information about what the company is using to build their sites and their applications

**What do you dislike about BuiltWith?**

Does not include how much they are spending and often include a lot of the same tools or competitors

**What problems is BuiltWith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gain more insight into what companies are using and has helped be able to get a foot in the door and start to shorten the amount of research time needed to prospect companies

 ### 36. Great chrome extension for valuable insight regarding technologies that a company uses

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jayme M. | Corporate Account Executive - West, Computer Software, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 24, 2018

**What do you like best about BuiltWith?**

I have used several plug ins who offer a similar solution and have always found that BuiltWith has the best data and is easiest to navigate

**What do you dislike about BuiltWith?**

At this time I haven't ran into any problems with the tool

**What problems is BuiltWith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's critical in software sales to understand the technologies that companies are using to tailor my conversation. BuiltWith is easy to use and quickly gives me the information necessary to be successful.

 ### 37. Insight to the Unknown!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniel J. | Sr. Account Executive | Mid-Market, Internet, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 19, 2018

**What do you like best about BuiltWith?**

I can have warm conversations with prospects already knowing what their entire website was built from.

**What do you dislike about BuiltWith?**

Honestly, nothing. The plugin is what I use primarily.

**What problems is BuiltWith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gathering all data/insight before outreach to a prospect.

 ### 38. Best Technology Profiler - for the price and convenience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Taylor F. | Sales Development Representative, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 26, 2017

**What do you like best about BuiltWith?**

The convenience to use - there is no signup, no "free account" where you are constantly being asked to sing up for Premium features. It loads the Tech Stack of the website you're on, plain and simple. And that is all that is really needed from a tool like this.

**What do you dislike about BuiltWith?**

It isn't able to have pop-up notifications, and sometimes doesn't pull crucial Tech services that I am targeting user bases of, but hey, it's free. It gives you an idea of the type of Tech Stack at a glance, all I am asking for.

**Recommendations to others considering BuiltWith:**

It is the most simple and streamlined of the Tech Stack Profilers on the market. It is for teams looking to better identify prospects in the SDR to AE process.

**What problems is BuiltWith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Identifying ATAM and new prospects for Sales Pipeline. I have been able to confirm Tech is in use, or even combat folks claiming to not use it as an objection. No harm is saying you did your research. Removes some blind outreach.

 ### 39. Excellent BI tools for websites

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** James O. | Director of Sales, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 04, 2018

**What do you like best about BuiltWith?**

the deep analysis of tools embedded in a website especially companies I compete with.

Ability to judge a companies upcoming renewals based on the time something was added to their site.

**What do you dislike about BuiltWith?**

occasionally does not load on certain sites or pages of sites

**What problems is BuiltWith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Intelligence on a company before entering a meeting simply by looking at their website.

 ### 40. Great resource for company data

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 17, 2018

**What do you like best about BuiltWith?**

Their dataset is very robust. Easy to filter the data down by what technologies, geo, size etc. Make searching for specific or broad technologies easy.

**What do you dislike about BuiltWith?**

The data that comes back can be a bit of a mess. Even while filtering for a certain country I find a lot of the data can be international.

**Recommendations to others considering BuiltWith:**

Great tool for filtering companies based on the technology they use (ie magento, shopify, ruby on rails). Make sure you review the lists you receive back and that all of the data matches your search inputs.

**What problems is BuiltWith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Finding companies and what technologies they use. Filtering those companies by size, get etc.

 ### 41. A must have for superficial glances at technology

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chad B. | Solutions Director, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 19, 2017

**What do you like best about BuiltWith?**

BuiltWith and the BuiltWith Chrome are fantastic tools that allow the user to see all technologies used to build the frameworks of a website. When qualifying potential clients, I use this tool to see the platform they are currently built up on.
The option to use either the full-fledged web app or the browser extension makes for a great user experience.

Being able to build a list of prospective clients based on technologies used is a feature I've only just discovered, but I'm now using regularly.

**What do you dislike about BuiltWith?**

Honestly, there is very little I dislike about this tool. It's a quality, well-designed product.

If I were to make a suggestion, it would be to simplify the user experience of building lists based on technologies used on websites.

**Recommendations to others considering BuiltWith:**

Take time to explore both the full web app and the Chrome extension. They both offer a great overview of the technologies used in the site build.

**What problems is BuiltWith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm working with clients to see what tools they could be using, or what platform they should be on, to optimize load times and user experience.

 ### 42. Decent tracking

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 04, 2018

**What do you like best about BuiltWith?**

I like when I'm able to see what tools various companies are using through BuiltWith when on the company's website.

**What do you dislike about BuiltWith?**

It does not always pick up all softwares that it should

**What problems is BuiltWith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm able to see if my prospects are using competitors and make my calls to them more personalized and efficient

 ### 43. Great for quick info

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 27, 2017

**What do you like best about BuiltWith?**

Gathers quick information about a website and its technology stack.

**What do you dislike about BuiltWith?**

It is not always accurate and can sometimes not display technology that is very prominent.

**What problems is BuiltWith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to customize our solution to the technology a client/prospect is using.

 ### 44. Extremely useful tool for websites

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 03, 2017

**What do you like best about BuiltWith?**

Very quickly shows you the platforms on each page. Very accurate and provides some background information.

**What do you dislike about BuiltWith?**

Doesn't work on every website depending on security settings.

**What problems is BuiltWith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Using this allows us to see how our product is being used, and with what other products developers are using with it.

 ### 45. Great Technology

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 30, 2017

**What do you like best about BuiltWith?**

It gives me a full breakdown of all the ins and outs of a page I'm searching for.

**What do you dislike about BuiltWith?**

It isn't as descriptive as I'd like it to be. I wish it gave more of a breakdown.

**Recommendations to others considering BuiltWith:**

It's a great resource for competitor analysis.

**What problems is BuiltWith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Understanding what others in the industry are using.

 ### 46. Very useful tool for doing market research and competitor analysis

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Santhosh G. | Product, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 19, 2016

**What do you like best about BuiltWith?**

Reports based on frequently used categories. Simple and intuitive way to know the current product's usage, customers, and the competitor products. The icing on the cake is the API to know the tech stack of any website. If you want to improve user onboarding and personalization based on the user's website, BW is a must-have tool.

**What do you dislike about BuiltWith?**

The sorting in the reports page is quite cumbersome. If want to sort the websites in an ascending order of Alexa ranking, it shows all the websites without the ranking first and I have to patiently comb through and scroll down to find the relevant data.

**Recommendations to others considering BuiltWith:**

If you are a Product Manager or a Data Analyst of a SaaS product, you can get the full value of competitor research and market analysis exercise by using BuildWith. I have used it and it has immensely helped me. I highly recommend it.

**What problems is BuiltWith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Competition Analysis
- Market Research
- Lead Generation

Helps me to track the usage of my SaaS tool across websites. This has been never easy. APIs to know the tech stack of any website is a nice add-on for my SaaS tool's onboarding process.

 ### 47. LOVE this tool!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Sporting Goods | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 12, 2017

**What do you like best about BuiltWith?**

It's almost too easy to use and provides so much information with a simple click of the plug in. Almost always is correct.

**What do you dislike about BuiltWith?**

Rarely this tool is inaccurate or misses tags.

**Recommendations to others considering BuiltWith:**

Double check for additional or broken elements that BuiltWith may not pick up, but this is very rare.

**What problems is BuiltWith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helps me identify the platforms that my clients are using so I can request the appropriate log in credentials since they rarely know what their site is running on. Makes communications much easier. Also I can see what tagging or markup they may have from previous versions of site development tools to help clean up their code.

 ### 48. BuiltWith For Targeted Listbuilding

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kyle A. | SEO Expert & Digital Marketing Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 12, 2016

**What do you like best about BuiltWith?**

This allows you to build a list based on the technology that the site is running. Great for targeting software that you prefer to work with or platforms that you would prefer to migrate or whatever.

If they add a few more functions they could really be an essential marketing tool. After a few closed deals from the trial and you should be able to see enough of a return to get the paid version and keep the whole thing rolling.

**What do you dislike about BuiltWith?**

It is limited at the free level but it's a good value for a paid subscription.

**Recommendations to others considering BuiltWith:**

This is great to generate a list to use with other products, like an email newsletter or CRM. Make sure to follow all applicable CAN-SPAM laws but it's an easy way to build a targeted list.

**What problems is BuiltWith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps narrow our marketing and outreach.

 ### 49. Great prospecting tool

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Wilson L. | Mentor, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 04, 2016

**What do you like best about BuiltWith?**

Being able to see what technologies companies are using is great as an SDR. My main goal is to look for marketers who are using certain tools. When I see those tools, it gives me an indication they would be a good fit for the product my company is building.

**What do you dislike about BuiltWith?**

I dislike the inability to run a report on a trial, it's easy to use on a surface level, but seems a bit harder to use on a deeper level.

**Recommendations to others considering BuiltWith:**

We're not using a paid model, but the free version seems to do similar things to ghostery and datanyze.

**What problems is BuiltWith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to see what competitive or complimentary software companies are using when visiting their websites. It's helped me resonate with prospects when reaching out.

 ### 50. Not very user friendly but good data

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 16, 2016

**What do you like best about BuiltWith?**

The amount and quality of the data is very good and consistent. The amount of filters that you can use is almost infinite and the customer service is very friendly.

**What do you dislike about BuiltWith?**

Since there are a lot of options, I think it's not very user friendly. It took me a while to understand some things and for me it was not very "logical".

**Recommendations to others considering BuiltWith:**

Try it first before you buy, and investigate if it's the right fit. It's not a cheap tool, so you have to be sure.
However, on the good side, it's a monthly payment, not like similar vendors, so that's a good thing: you are not bounded to year contracts.

**What problems is BuiltWith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was able to generate very helpful reports that I am currently using on a daily basis as a foundation for my activities.
