What I liked best was how little I had to learn or change on my end. I knew nothing about automation and honestly didn’t even want to try it because it felt completely foreign to me. All I had to do was record a video of myself doing my normal payroll process and talk through the steps, the little rules, the things that annoyed me, and all the details I normally keep in my head.
That was especially important because my payroll has so many specific rules that I never felt comfortable handing it off to someone else. Build Simpul was able to learn the process from that, ask me the remaining questions it needed for clarification, and remember those details going forward. My biggest dislike is honestly that I didn’t know something like this could be this easy sooner. I wasted so much time doing things manually because I assumed automating a process this specific would be complicated. The only real downside was that there was some upfront time needed to explain and clarify all of my payroll rules, but once that was done, I didn’t have to keep explaining them.
