What do you like best about BrightHR?

What I find most useful is having everything I need in one place. From ongoing HR tasks such as holiday requests and absence management to payroll and advice, it brings everything together in one system.

The BrightHR interface feels modern and is very user-friendly, whether I’m processing payroll or assigning training courses through BrightSafe.

The payroll software integrates with our pension provider and HMRC, which makes the monthly submissions straightforward and has saved me a lot of time when completing payroll.

We also use the BrightHR app, along with the Pop and Blip apps for expenses and time tracking/clocking in. Everything is straightforward to use, even for the less tech-savvy members of our team.

We’ve had no performance issues with any of the software, including when importing information during the initial setup and onboarding process.

The support we received from BrightHR during onboarding was invaluable. They ensured everything transferred smoothly and helped make sure our first few months of payroll were accurate.

While the monthly cost may be higher than some other providers, particularly if you’re only looking for payroll software, I feel BrightHR offers good value for money because of the wider functionality and level of support included.

Lastly, Bright Brainbox+ is really handy for those quick questions. It’s the built-in AI chat function, where you can ask questions relating to employment law or health and safety. If it can’t provide a definitive answer, it recommends contacting the relevant advice team and provides their phone number, so you know exactly where to go for further support. What do you dislike about BrightHR?

One improvement I’d like to see is greater integration between expenses and payroll. We reimburse expenses, including mileage, alongside employees’ monthly pay, so it would be useful if approved expenses in the Pop app could feed directly through to payroll. Currently, these need to be added separately, so having this integration would reduce duplicate data entry and make the monthly payroll process even more streamlined. What problems is BrightHR solving and how is that benefiting you?

BrightHR brings our HR, payroll, absence management, training and employee records together in one place, reducing the need for separate systems and duplicate admin. The integrations with HMRC and our pension provider, along with the employee apps, have helped streamline our processes and save time each month.
