Brightflag takes manual invoice review off my plate. Bills come in already flagged against our billing guidelines, so I can approve or query them and move on. I can see what each matter is costing while negotiations are still open and raise it with business affairs if counsel time goes far beyond what we scoped. Support is worth a mention too: when I needed a new firm set up mid-negotiation, I got a proper answer back the same working day. Setup was smoother than I expected once our billing guidelines were loaded in. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Reporting falls short of the mark. The standard views are fine for a general picture, but when I want spend broken down by counterparty or agreement type, I have to export to a spreadsheet and build it myself. I’d like to be able to save my own layouts. Matter setup is also more rigid than I’d like, so fitting our deal types into the available categories takes some improvisation, and I’d like more granular notification settings.
