I love how Brightflag helps me get a proper grip on outside counsel spend by enforcing rate cards and billing guidelines automatically, so I catch block billing and out-of-scope work easily. Having matter budgets tracked in one place is invaluable when finance asks for accruals or during panel reviews. It's also great that invoices move smoothly from submission to approval in just two screens, with a clear layout that doesn't need a cheat sheet. Plus, the straightforward setup meant our panel firms could start submitting within the first billing cycle, which was a relief. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
My one gripe concerns the language used in places. A few of our smaller regional firms have a single practice manager handling billing alongside everything else, and terms around adjustment codes and rejection reasons do not translate well for them. I have found myself writing short explanatory notes ahead of onboarding calls. A glossary in plain English would spare everyone that step. The one improvement I would ask for is plainer language across the platform, particularly a built-in glossary explaining adjustment and rejection codes in everyday terms, so the smaller firms on our panel without dedicated billing staff can resolve queries themselves rather than coming back to me for an explanation.
