I have been regularly logging hours and expenses as part of my daily work. I love the app version where I can take a picture of my receipt and discard it immediately, this has saved me a lot of time by passing the expenses directly to the accounting team. Tracking billable hours is also quite easy and there are a couple of options to do it, from using project timers that you can pause and resume to the old manual entry method. I generally use the app, and inputting time and expenses is very easy to do. It is easy to modify, edit, and submit time especially when traveling for work. **What do you dislike about BQE CORE?** The app has an issue of updating the correct project. When I add time for the whole week at once and use the 'next cell' after submitting a time for a day. The app changes the project. So I have to exit out of the menu screen and manually click on each day for the same project. It would be nice if I hit ''next cell' it would stay on the same project. This is really not a big deal but a flaw I'd like to see fixed eventually. **What problems is BQE CORE solving and how is that benefiting you?** The app use to be very buggy and difficult to use (about a year and half ago). It is geting better and moving in the right direction. There are still things about ArchiOffice that I miss and would be very helpful to the team. The price went up 80% in 7 years, and I didn't notice any improvement. BQE Core is even more expensive. As a very small company, it's untenable. Also, there are all the extra fees and charges. BQE charges $595 to export your own data after expiration/cancellation. That's more than what it costs to renew for another year, and export it yourself. Even QuickBooks gives their users 60 days of free 'read only' access to their own data after expiration/cancellation. Also, if would be great if you could copy an expense and modify it for recurring monthly expenses. We can use our own project names that are already in our system, furhter integrating our work into this app. We are able to split these subcategories into common tasks that are simple to review for the manager at the end of each week. **What do you dislike about BQE CORE?** The timecard, while user-friendly, does not offer display-friendly optimization. While working on even a few projects, the interface of the timecard sizes each project with an overbearing amount of space. I have been reguarly logging hours and expenses as part of my daily work. I really love the app version in which I can snap a picture on the go from my receipt and toss the receipt away immediatelly. It has saved me tons of time of collecting receipts and then balancing my credit card account. Tracking billable hours is also pretty easy and there are couple of options to do so for each personality from using project timers that you can play and pause to straight old-fashined type of plug-in. Overall, I am very happy of this software. **What do you dislike about BQE CORE?** There were some glitches before when pugging time from the time card, but now it`s all resolved. No current issues with this platform. **What problems is BQE CORE solving and how is that benefiting you?** It`s saving tremendes amount of time when dealing with expenses. Some colleagues of mine are still keeping receipts, then spending 7-8 hours per month to have those reviewed and plugged in. I like how you can literally create "layers" within a project and client. Time cards have never been easier to complete. **What do you dislike about BQE CORE?** I have found that when I create a "task" if I unfortunately make a spelling error within the title, once I hit "save and done" you can not update the data entered. I literally have to delete the entire entry and start from scratch. When this happens, it is time consuming. I really like how easy it is to add and track projects, especially the ability to add multiple phases and sub-phases to projects, each with their own fee structures. My FAVORITE part of the system is instant feedback on time cards when billable time for a project has been exceeded. Core also makes creating invoice and tracking payments very quick. I can get my monthly invoice done in under an hour. The system has paid for itself a few times over with the time I have saved on invoicing. Customer support has been great as well. I really like the function and filters of billing, ePayments, and project management as well as managing of vendor bills. It has really helped streamline our practices and organize ourselves efficiently. Their customer support was absolutely terrible 6 or so months ago, but since having their new CEO things have really turned around and i feel as though I can get the help I need when I need it. **What do you dislike about BQE CORE?** they are still working out frequent glitches that will hopefully end once they complete their move from one interface to another. the invoice collections area is minimal use at best. I'd like to see it built up more like the CRM with the ability to store the information of the emails sent and direct connection to the contact information of the client for ease of follow up. One really nice thing is that Core is project based and not client based, which for our consultning business is much more in tune with how we conduct business on a day to day level. For the cost, much more user friendly than Deltek products and much more useful than QB. **What do you dislike about BQE CORE?** Previously the interface was sometimes clunky and slow especially around end of month when lots of users are processing invoices, over the past two months this has been an absolute non-issue. Additionally, previously encountered random errors or glitches which reset immediately past progress (setting up a project, applying a payment etc). This has also virtually disapeared from the interface and have had no issues in a few months. There are still some simple items, such as more clearly grouping projects and having a single easy to read and mail out invoice/bill that Core is missing without some major customization interactions. **What problems is BQE CORE solving and how is that benefiting you?** It serves as our timesheets, expense sheets, project management software, and our main form of invoice generation. Integration with financial software is a plus, but I purchased the financial option from BQE, because I've had too much truble with Quickbooks. Some featuress are not as intuitive as that could be, and some are just wierd. (ex. late fees will only process as a seperate invoicie). While it does an excellent job of tracking time & expenses, etc. it is still developing its accounting knowledge. There are some very simple things they could change to address the accounting departments needs. And in my opinion, that is what this software is for the most, tracking time and expenses for projects but mostly accounting for the company. If they wish to compete with other accounting software, they really need to make the focus on functionality and customization options PER user.
