## Box Reviews
 ### 1. Secure, Free Storage with Seamless Setup

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David W. | Managing Principal, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 05, 2026

**What do you like best about Box?**

I like that Box is free and provides me with a good amount of storage, which means I don't need a paid cloud service. It's also secure, so I know that when I put something in Box, it's not going to fall into the wrong hands. The initial setup was very easy, and it has a mobile version that I use as well. I really don't have any complaints about Box; it's there when I need it.

**What do you dislike about Box?**

Maybe if anything, making it easier to search for certain types of files.

**What problems is Box solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Box gives me extra cloud storage for large videos, freeing up space on my computer. It's free and secure, so I don't need a paid service.

 ### 2. Unlimited Storage and Seamless Collaboration

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sara Y. | Digital Campaigns Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 26, 2025

**What do you like best about Box?**

I appreciate that Box offers what feels like unlimited cloud storage, as well as signature features through Box Sign. It also promotes collaboration both within departments and among different teams.

**What do you dislike about Box?**

At first, it can seem a bit clunky or awkward to use, especially because it's so large—almost like managing your own database or network. Sometimes, finding the files or information you need for a project with a tight deadline can be challenging.

**What problems is Box solving and how is that benefiting you?**

At our digital firm, the HR and operations teams can access all of our documentation in a secure, centralized location using Box. In my position, I frequently handle requests for proposal, media plans, and advertising memos. Uploading the final versions to Box provides me with peace of mind and helps me stay organized, as I no longer need to search through multiple drafts to locate the approved copy.

 ### 3. Frequent Errors Are a Problem But I Understand It's a Good Solution for Orgs That Must Use MS Office

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alanna H. | Founder and Teacher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 05, 2026

**What do you like best about Box?**

It integrates with Microsoft Office and has desktop integration. That's about all the positives I can give about Box, unfortunately.

**What do you dislike about Box?**

Frequent errors prevent you from actually using Box as a fairly regular basis. Sync errors, access issues, and sometimes it is unavailable. It prevents work from being done, a literal un-productivity tool sometimes.

**What problems is Box solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Collaborating on documents and deliverables remotely using Microsoft Office is a necessary solution for organizations that can't use Google Docs/Google Drive/Google Workspace.

 ### 4. Great for File Sharing, Needs Better Live Collaboration

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** James H. | Director of Strategy, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Box?**

I use Box for sharing files across teams and keeping historic files on projects with multiple work streams. I like the version control and the ability to easily keep a shared folder where I can restrict and allow access to different folks, both internal and client, even though we're not on the same company internal platform. The initial setup was pretty easy as it auto-loaded on my computer. Box is super easy and great for collaboration across systems.

**What do you dislike about Box?**

I would like to have live editing so we can edit a document simultaneously. It would also be good for Box to have an AI tool that shows redundancy or gives recommendations on organizing better based on size, file name, or people using it.

**What problems is Box solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Box for sharing files across teams and keeping historic project files. It helps with version control and access management, allowing me to easily share folders and restrict access, even with external clients. It's great for collaboration across different systems.

 ### 5. Box Makes File Sharing Fast and Easy for Remote Teams

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adam W. | Associate Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 11, 2026

**What do you like best about Box?**

Box is a great file-sharing platform. I use it daily to support my projects, and it lets us upload and share documents quickly, which is especially important for our remote team.

**What do you dislike about Box?**

Box can be a bit frustrating at times, especially when it comes to moving files around and keeping them in the right order. It also sometimes struggles when I try to download large batches of selected files.

**What problems is Box solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It completely solved our team’s remote work problem. We couldn’t easily share project files with people onsite and at home, and these seemingly endless storage options allowed us to do exactly that… efficiently.

 ### 6. Secure Collaboration with Integration Challenges

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Oswald C.

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2026

**What do you like best about Box?**

I like Box for its strong enterprise-grade security, granular permission controls, and built-in compliance foundation. Unlike many consumer-grade cloud tools, security and governance are designed into the platform from the start. It also stands out for secure external collaboration, allowing us to safely share sensitive files with clients, vendors, and external partners while maintaining full visibility and control. The deep integrations with Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and other business apps create a smooth, unified workflow that cuts down on app switching and saves time. For small teams or individual users, the onboarding flow is intuitive, making it easy to set up and get started quickly.

**What do you dislike about Box?**

I don't like the steep learning curve for advanced features. While basic file storage and sharing are intuitive, configuring advanced workflows and complex permissions needs a significant time investment. New admins often have to rely on Box’s documentation or paid support for these features. I also find the limited offline functionality frustrating. The desktop app’s offline mode is clunky, and files marked for offline access sometimes fail to sync reliably when reconnected. There's also no easy way to bulk-select folders for offline use, which creates friction for teams in low-connectivity environments.

**What problems is Box solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Box provides secure file sharing, eliminating risky methods and ensuring only authorized access. It streamlines collaboration, reducing version confusion and review cycles, and simplifies compliance with built-in governance and retention tools, lessening the legal and administrative burden.

 ### 7. Robust Compliance and AI, But Needs Faster Sync

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Una D. | Sales & Client Relationship Manager, Newspapers, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 08, 2026

**What do you like best about Box?**

I really appreciate that compliance is a core feature of Box, not a paid upgrade. It's the reason so many Fortune 500 companies trust it, as U.S. and global regulatory compliance is built right into the platform without requiring manual IT setup. This is crucial for regulated industries, as it greatly reduces the risk of accidental non-compliance and the substantial fines that come with it. Box's AI capabilities also stand out for transforming unstructured content into actionable, searchable data. Furthermore, Box’s setup process is streamlined and easy, balancing user-friendliness with the necessary security and compliance features essential for businesses, especially those in healthcare, finance, and legal sectors. The initial setup, even for enterprise teams, is much simpler compared to other platforms. Also, the integration with Asana is seamless because I can attach Box files directly to Asana tasks, and any updates sync automatically, ensuring everyone always accesses the latest version.

**What do you dislike about Box?**

I don't like the glacial upload/download speeds for files over 20GB, even on high-bandwidth connections. It's frustrating to deal with frequent upload failures with generic error messages and limited resumable upload functionality. There are sync delays with Box Drive for large folders, sometimes taking 1-2 hours, which can lead to version conflicts and outdated files. Plus, there's no way to prioritize sync jobs or throttle bandwidth, which can cripple local office or remote user networks.

**What problems is Box solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Box eliminates content silos, providing centralized, secure storage with seamless access from any device. It supports compliance, reducing audit prep time by 80%, and transforming unstructured content into actionable data with AI-powered insights.

 ### 8. Box Mirror Function: Useful but Needs Improvements

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Fiorella C. | Operations Analyst, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Box?**

I liked the mirror function in Box, which allowed me to upload documents from my computer as if it were a folder, and it automatically reflected in the cloud. This saved me many steps compared to other applications where I had to use the browser. Additionally, this function did not take up space on my computer, which was very convenient. The initial setup process for Box was super simple.

**What do you dislike about Box?**

It was lagging a lot when I was uploading to the mirror folder from my computer.

**What problems is Box solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Box had the mirror function that allowed uploading documents automatically to the cloud without taking up space on my computer, avoiding several steps and simplifying the process.

 ### 9. Easy File Saving, Smooth Syncing, and Simple Sharing

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Box?**

It’s easy to save files and identify them later. It also syncs well with local folders, and the application can access the files without any hassle. Many times, it becomes simple to share files from Box with multiple people.

**What do you dislike about Box?**

Nothing so far. It seems straightforward and easy to use, but we still need to explore all the features and then identify any that we might not like. We’ll continue exploring.

**What problems is Box solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It’s easy to access all files stored in the Box folder, so when the application is deployed it can quickly find what it needs, process the files seamlessly, and stay on time.

 ### 10. Secure Cloud Storage and Smooth Collaboration with Box

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Box?**

The best thing I like about Box is its strong cloud-based file storage and collaboration features. It makes it easy to store files securely, share them, and access them from anywhere. The UI is clean and simple, which helps me keep documents organized. I also like the permission controls that let you set different access levels for team members. Integrations with other tools like MS Office and Google Workspace make collaboration smoother.

**What do you dislike about Box?**

Box can feel a bit slow when uploading or downloading large files. The pricing is also a little high compared to some other cloud storage solutions, especially for smaller teams or individual users.

**What problems is Box solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Box solves the problem of managing files across different devices and teams by centralizing everything in one secure platform. Support is also good for the pricing. Earlier, I had to rely on multiple tools for storage, sharing, and other tasks, which made things more complicated. Box brings these needs together with multiple integrations for file storage, sharing, and version control, which makes workflows easier and more consistent.

Team collaboration has also improved. The AI integration has made it easier to search across documents, and it can even answer questions about them, summarize files, and help me find what I need faster.

 ### 11. A Powerful Tool for Organized and Secure File Management

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Manufacturing | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 31, 2026

**What do you like best about Box?**

What I like best about Box is its excellent balance of security, simplicity, and collaboration. The platform makes it incredibly easy to store, organize, and share files across teams while maintaining strong access controls and compliance standards.

I especially appreciate the seamless integrations with tools like Microsoft Office and Google Workspace, which allow us to edit documents in real time without switching platforms. The version history and file recovery features are also very reliable, giving peace of mind when working on critical documents.

Overall, Box has significantly improved our document management process by making collaboration faster, more secure, and more organized.

**What do you dislike about Box?**

What I dislike about Box is that it can sometimes feel slower than expected, especially when uploading or syncing large files. The desktop sync tool isn’t always as smooth or intuitive as other cloud storage platforms, which can affect productivity during heavy usage.

Additionally, some advanced features and storage limits are locked behind higher-priced plans, making it less cost-effective for small teams or individual users. The interface, while clean, can also feel slightly complex for new users and requires a learning curve to fully utilize all functionalities.

Overall, while Box is powerful and secure, performance consistency and pricing flexibility are areas that could be improved.

**What problems is Box solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Box solves the challenge of securely managing, sharing, and collaborating on documents across teams and locations. Before using Box, keeping files organized, controlling access, and tracking versions was time-consuming and risky.

With Box, everything is centralized in one secure platform with clear permission controls, real-time collaboration, and automatic version history. This has greatly reduced confusion around document ownership, eliminated duplicate files, and improved overall workflow efficiency.

The strong security and compliance features also give confidence when handling sensitive information, while integrations with everyday tools make work faster and more seamless. Overall, Box has helped us stay more organized, collaborate better, and work more securely with far less manual effort.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ankush P. | Mid Roto Artist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 30, 2026

**What do you like best about Box?**

I like how Box allows me to store files and documents in the cloud, so I can access them from any device anywhere. It solves many common problems related to file storage, collaboration, and data security. Box helps me store files securely in one place, access them from anywhere, and share them easily without worrying about data loss or version confusion. It improves collaboration by keeping everyone on the same file and protects sensitive data with strong security controls. What I like most about Box is its secure and easy file sharing. It keeps all files organized in one place, allows smooth collaboration, and lets me access my content anytime from any device with confidence in data security. I also like how Box integrates smoothly with other tools like Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace. The version control, activity tracking, and mobile access work especially well and make collaboration simple and reliable. The initial setup of Box was easy and quick. Creating an account, uploading files, and setting sharing permissions was simple, and the interface made it easy to get started without much learning time.

**What do you dislike about Box?**

Sometimes file syncing and notifications can be slow, and a few advanced features feel complex for new users. Improving speed consistency and making the interface a bit more intuitive would make Box even better. Improving background sync speed, especially for large files, would help a lot. Real-time or more reliable notifications would also improve responsiveness. For the interface, clearer icons, simpler menus, and better onboarding tips for advanced features would make it more intuitive for new users.

**What problems is Box solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Box to store files securely, access them from any device, and share them easily, keeping collaboration smooth and data protected with strong security controls. It solves common issues of file storage, collaboration, and data security, eliminating version confusion and data loss worries.

 ### 15. Effortless File Storage with Intuitive Features

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 10, 2026

**What do you like best about Box?**

I use Box for storing files because it's easy to access them. I really like the branding of Box. It's the features like categories and filters that stand out for me, and it's better than Google Drive. The interface is really good. The initial setup was really good, and I even found it fun. Box is built on a great platform and works well as an enterprise tool.

**What do you dislike about Box?**

I feel like Box could really improve by adding features like AI summarization for files and maybe some kind of prioritization feature. It would be great if there was a way to have files sorted and prioritized automatically according to my account settings.

**What problems is Box solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Box for storing files, and it makes accessing them easy.

 ### 16. Secure Enterprise File Storage and Collaboration Across Devices

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Todd M. | Team leader, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 02, 2026

**What do you like best about Box?**

It’s ability to securely store, share and collaborate on files in a single enterprise grade content management platform. Allows users access all their files directly from a desktop or phone without using local hard drive space

**What do you dislike about Box?**

It’s less helpful for small teams due to rigid pricing and a tendency to feel overbuilt for simple life sharing. Slow sync delays limited file size

**What problems is Box solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The Unstructured data problem

 ### 17. Clean, Simple UI with Great Pricing and Strong Developer Tool Integrations

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 06, 2026

**What do you like best about Box?**

I like the clean UI and the overall simplicity of the product. It’s easy to use, and the pricing is great. I also appreciate the integrations with developer tools like Bitbucket or GitHub, along with the support, seamless onboarding, and solid documentation.

**What do you dislike about Box?**

There are many tools out there that are the same or even better, so there’s nothing particularly distinguishing about this one. Especially with the help of AI, new companies are emerging that offer better pricing and more unique features.

**What problems is Box solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Storing files, obviously. It also helps me collaborate with colleagues at work through access controls, supports knowledge transfer and presentation sessions, and overall makes my day easier.

 ### 18. Curated Workflows and No-Code Apps Make Customization Easy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Fenil S. | Investment Representative, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 10, 2026

**What do you like best about Box?**

Specific products for different tasks and curated agentic workflows. It also lets you create apps without any coding experience, which makes customization very easy.

**What do you dislike about Box?**

As of now, I haven’t noticed any major downsides to using Box. Occasionally, I find the automation workflow can be a little slow when there are too many outputs.

**What problems is Box solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As I mentioned earlier, with Box it’s possible to create apps without any coding experience. As a result, it’s very easy to customise our workflows and apps.

 ### 19. Effortless Document Management with Handy Features

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sambuj D. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Box?**

I really like the feature in Box that allows me to save my most important files under 'Favorites'. It helps me save time when I'm looking for critical documents because I don't have to spend time searching through all my files. I find the initial setup pretty easy.

**What do you dislike about Box?**

Maybe add a feature through which we can get notifications via mail or phone. Let's say we are working on a project. Whenever a deadline for an action item comes up, Box can automatically send it to the relevant person. Of course, this may be allowed once we let Box track those deadlines.

**What problems is Box solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Box for saving pictures, docs, recordings in an orderly way. The 'Favorites' feature helps me save critical files, making it faster to find important documents.

 ### 20. AI-Powered File Insights That Save Time

The use of AI in box is useful to understand what’s in the file
And the folder before opening the files and checking one by one. It will very helpful to see what’s in the file

**What do you dislike about Box?**

Storage speed is high and the AI chat is so useful. Speed of execution is really night. And connotes to all agentic platforms and application access to mobiles

**What problems is Box solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Few files are getting missed when uploaded via box application and unable to move a huge file and the upload fails when uploading the Hugh’s data in app

 ### 21. Box’s AI Workflow Transformed Our Productivity

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Darshan M. | Product Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 28, 2025

**What do you like best about Box?**

Well, Box takes my management from 0 to 1 with it's AI Powered hassle-free workflow. The work used to take days now move in hours. The desktop sync and mobile apps makes files available where people actually work which has noticably reduced " Where is my latest file"? questions during busy projects.

Another thing is I can build a custom box agent and put it to work, which really helps me and my team to move faster than ever. +1 for this feature!

**What do you dislike about Box?**

Box is overall great and helping us in our day to day work. But one thing, I've noticed while onboarding an admin to workspace. An admin onboarding checklist or a simplified setup wizard would have shortened the rollout time. This has caused us multiple issues and wasted time going through it.

**What problems is Box solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Simple AI based workflows let us move fast from days to hours. With files available, where people actually work rather than switching tabs which reduces delays. Customer agents has simplified our work way more easier, we just focusing on shipping instead of wasting time in handling files, content management, etc.

 ### 22. Effortless File Sharing and Collaboration for Remote Teams

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Srikant V. | Staff Software Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 29, 2025

**What do you like best about Box?**

What I like best about Box is how easy it is to use and set up. The interface feels simple and clean, so getting started doesn’t take much effort — everything just works out of the box (pun intended). Implementation was smooth, and our team didn’t need any special training to get going. The customer support has also been responsive whenever we had questions, which really helps. I use Box almost every day to store and share files, and it’s packed with just the right set of features — not overloaded, but everything you need for collaboration. The integrations are also seamless, especially with tools like Microsoft Word and Slack, which makes daily work much more convenient.

**What do you dislike about Box?**

What I dislike about Box is that syncing large files can sometimes take longer than expected. The desktop app also feels a bit heavy and can lag when starting up or refreshing folders. Occasionally, permission updates or shared links don’t reflect right away, which causes a little confusion among team members. It’s nothing major, but I wish the performance and responsiveness were a bit smoother, especially when working with bigger projects.

**What problems is Box solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Box helps me keep all my project files organized, versioned, and accessible from anywhere. I no longer need to juggle between different storage tools or worry about outdated attachments in emails — everything stays synced automatically in one place. It’s great for securely sharing files with teammates, clients, and even external partners, thanks to its flexible permission settings. The best part is how it supports smooth collaboration — multiple people can view, edit, or comment on documents at the same time without version confusion. Whether I’m working from the office or remotely, Box keeps the workflow consistent and reliable. It really cuts down on small hassles and makes teamwork feel much more seamless.

 ### 24. Secure, Seamless Box Hub That Streamlines the Document Lifecycle

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 30, 2026

**What do you like best about Box?**

What I like most about Box is its strong security and how smoothly it integrates with our existing solutions. It’s more than simple storage; it feels like a secure central hub where Box AI and the native e-signature tools help streamline our entire document lifecycle.

**What do you dislike about Box?**

The structure can feel too rigid for more complex workflows, and the pricing gets expensive once you start adding the modules you actually need. On top of that, desktop sync can occasionally lag when you’re working with large volumes of data.

**What problems is Box solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Box solves the challenge of managing sensitive content at scale. It benefits my workflow by centralizing all our documents into a secure environment that integrates perfectly with our existing tools, allowing us to collaborate safely with external partners without losing control of our data.

 ### 25. Intuitive Collaboration Meets Enterprise-Grade Security

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vineeth K. | Sr. Multimedia Designer , Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Box?**

Box achieves an impressive balance between a straightforward, user-friendly interface and robust enterprise-level features. The folder organization and sharing capabilities are intuitive, allowing team members to begin collaborating right away without needing extensive training. I really like the fact that I can upload music files and organize them in such a way that the music files are able to play one after another without me manually clicking on each music file after each file plays. **What do you dislike about Box?**

I dislike that I can't manually adjust the order of the music files. I would have to delete each file and then re-upload in the order that I would want the files in. I also am not a big fan of the look of the files and the interface. I also dislike that you can't download files offline from the app like other similar file storage and sharing applications.
