What do you like best about Boldo?

The metamodel offers a solid, well-structured foundation that keeps the overall model highly generic and adaptable. It supports a wide range of use cases without forcing us into rigid, predefined structures, and that flexibility is a real strength as needs evolve.

On top of that, Boldo aligns with ArchiMate, the enterprise architecture standard from The Open Group. With native ArchiMate support on the way, it’s reassuring that the modeling approach is grounded in an established standard rather than proprietary logic. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Boldo?

Beyond adoption, the main gaps today are around reporting and analytics, which remain fairly basic, limited visual customization, and integration with existing or legacy systems, where more advanced API-based connectors would help. What problems is Boldo solving and how is that benefiting you?

Boldo solves three problems for us. First, it gives the organization a common language: business and IT teams finally name and describe applications, capabilities and data the same way, which removes a lot of ambiguity. Second, it acts as a reference baseline linking business capabilities to the means the IT department provides to support them, so we can see where we're covered and where we're not. Third, it lets us master our data and application flows, which is essential both to steer and validate our target architecture and as a shared knowledge base for the whole IT department on day-to-day operations. The concrete benefit is that architecture decisions and impact analyses are now grounded in a single, shared source of truth rather than scattered documents and individual knowledge, which makes trade-offs faster and reduces blind spots.
