I like BMC AMI Data’s high-speed utility engine, especially BMC AMI Reorg and Copy. They run fast without locking database tables or slowing application response times, and use less CPU than native utilities on high-volume tables. The automation and threshold-based utility execution save time by running maintenance only when it’s needed, and the smart triggers mean I don’t have to manually script and schedule checks. I also find the SQL performance tuning and index recommendations make complex queries easier to optimize. The web-based UI and REST API integrations make Db2 easier to manage without relying only on green screen, and integrating database administration into our CI/CD pipelines has streamlined schema changes and migrations. The automation also reduces DBA interventions and frees DBAs to focus on higher-value optimization and database modernization. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I find the initial setup, configuration, and threshold fine-tuning quite complex and they require deep mainframe and Db2 expertise to get right. The licensing and tiering model can also be steep for smaller environments, and junior engineers still face a learning curve with the newer web interface. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
