What stands out most is that Bexio is built around Canadian accounting practices, which fits our firm’s work perfectly. The built-in tax modules follow CRA rules strictly for GST/HST and corporate tax work, cutting down on manual number-crunching and lowering the chance of compliance mistakes. The role-based access controls are another major plus. We can set different permission levels for every team member, which keeps clients’ private financial information safe and helps us stay compliant with PIPEDA. Its bank reconciliation feature works seamlessly too, making our monthly account reviews far less time-consuming. Having all core accounting tools in one place also lets us easily manage our retail, construction and tech clients across multiple provinces. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are a few aspects that hold back our workflow. The default reporting templates are quite inflexible, so we have to spend extra time reworking layouts to create custom year-end reports for our construction and tech clients. It also doesn’t offer solid native connections with popular Canadian tax filing software, meaning we have to manually export and reimport data before CRA filings. During peak tax periods, customer support responses tend to be slow. Our team members working remotely across provinces sometimes run into interface lag, and we could definitely use more advanced filters to sort through large volumes of client financial data more quickly.
