As a volunteer manager for Our Daily Bread Food Pantry, I rely heavily on BetterUnite’s volunteer management and recurring monthly signup pages. Since transitioning exclusively to BetterUnite in May 2026, I’ve seen tremendous improvements in the platform, particularly in the volunteer module over the past couple of months.
Several features have made a significant difference in our workflow. The AI anchor date feature is a huge time-saver when creating our recurring monthly schedules. The bulk update functionality is fabulous, reducing repetitive work and helping minimize human error. I also love the drag-and-drop functionality, which makes managing and organizing signups much more efficient.
The customization options are another major plus. Being able to personalize the graphics on our signup pages and marketing emails helps us create a more engaging, professional experience for our volunteers. The marketing email analytics are excellent, giving us valuable insight into how our communications are performing.
What has been especially impressive is the pace of innovation. We’ve seen meaningful improvements in functionality and usability, and the team has demonstrated a genuine willingness to listen to customer feedback and implement suggestions quickly. That responsiveness makes us feel like partners rather than just users of the software.
BetterUnite has made managing a large, recurring volunteer schedule increasingly efficient, streamlined, and professional. I’m excited to see the continued evolution of the platform and look forward to what’s next. It’s refreshing to work with an innovative company that listens, adapts, and works to meet its customers’ needs! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
BetterUnite has made impressive strides in improving its platform, and the team’s responsiveness to customer feedback has been exceptional. Several issues we raised have been addressed in record time, which is greatly appreciated. As the platform continues to evolve, I see a few opportunities to make the experience even better.
Proactive communication about new features: I frequently discover new functionality while performing routine tasks. While innovation is exciting, having to stop and investigate what has changed can interrupt workflow and create uncertainty. I would love to receive notifications when new features are released, with a direct link to a support document explaining what’s new, how to use it, and—most importantly—how the change may affect related features, existing settings, or connected workflows. Because so many functions within a platform are interdependent, understanding the downstream effects of an update is just as important as understanding the feature itself. Proactive communication would help us take advantage of improvements without disrupting established processes.
Reliability and consistency: Although several issues have been resolved quickly, consistent behavior across the platform remains important. Features and settings should function predictably across different signup pages and workflows, particularly when managing volunteer registration, notifications, and scheduling. Continued attention to quality assurance and consistency would build confidence and reduce the need for troubleshooting.
Volunteer self-service: A centralized Volunteer Resource Hub button within the existing BetterUnite Volunteer Portal would be a tremendous improvement. Having one convenient place for step-by-step guides, FAQs, portal instructions, signup procedures, and other helpful resources would empower volunteers to find answers independently, reduce administrative questions, and make onboarding easier.
Workflows and long-term organizational continuity: I am beginning to explore workflow automation, which initially feels like a substantial undertaking. However, once established, these automated processes could be transformational. In volunteer-run organizations like ours, where leadership and management roles may change every few years, documented workflows and automation can provide a consistent operational foundation. They help preserve institutional knowledge, standardize processes, and ensure continuity rather than requiring each new group of managers to reinvent the wheel. Better guidance and resources for setting up workflows would make this powerful functionality more accessible to organizations like ours.
Support accessibility: Your team has been remarkably responsive (including during weekends), and I appreciate how quickly you’ve addressed our questions and implemented suggestions. One additional consideration would be the option to speak directly with a support representative by phone. I recognize that the staffing costs and time involved in phone support must be weighed against customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. However, for certain questions, a brief phone conversation could resolve an issue in minutes that might otherwise require multiple written exchanges. This would allow us to get clarification quickly, minimize interruptions to our daily workflow, and get back to serving our volunteers and community. Even an optional callback service for questions that are difficult to resolve through email would be a valuable addition.
Overall, I am very encouraged by BetterUnite’s rapid development and willingness to listen to its customers. With proactive feature communication, continued attention to reliability, better volunteer self-service resources, and accessible workflow automation, I believe the platform can deliver even greater value. These improvements would not only make daily operations more efficient but also help organizations build sustainable systems that support their missions for years to come.
