Additionally, the initial setup was very easy, thanks to the BetterCloud onboarding team, who helped get us up and running quickly and explained all of the functionality and how to use the system. **What do you dislike about BetterCloud?** There are some integrations with certain SaaS platforms that are limited in their functionality and don't have some functions that we would prefer to use. It's far more customizable than any othe platform that we've looked into, and easier to use. Native integrations exist with so many apps, and you can create workflows that manage user accounts and create other triggers. It does, for us, also require some use of Google Apps Script, but their onboarding training is very extensive. **What do you dislike about BetterCloud?** There are a couple things it can't do. Some employee changes can't be managed this way. This bit of planning can help save you from carpal tunnel on dull repetitive actions and also from the heavier efforts of building a full script with API calls yourself. **What do you dislike about BetterCloud?** The interface could definitely be better, especially for the Google Administration module. There are plenty of useful reports and functions, but they can be hard to read or use at times when the titles are truncated or fields only display a small number of characters. **What problems is BetterCloud solving and how is that benefiting you?** Today we primarily use it to overcome the operational limitations of the Google Workspace Admin console, particularly multi-step processes like user offboarding and account security. But for the sake of being as objective as possible, it would be nice if they had open API available so I could map the fields of my choosing to Google Workspace. Example: pronouns. All my users want pronouns included in their signatures. I can create a custom field in Google Workspace to account for this. But the formal staff signatures are managed in bulk via BetterCloud. And presently BetterCloud does not account for custom fields and there are no options for me to map the fields myself. It's a very small thing. And i'm only including for the sake of being objective. **What problems is BetterCloud solving and how is that benefiting you?** Streamlined workflows and ease of reporting. We are a small team. I am able to manage 84 active users with ease in large part thanks to BetterCloud. ### 22. The time it gives back to work on projects is amazing. Even when something is not natively supported we can use google groups to control certain apps. Edit 1/14/25 Adding onto my review, through 2024 they were a major factor of being able to link our HRIS to our Google workplace by leveraging their project teams. Huge help and able to upkeep dynamic groups way easier now! **What do you dislike about BetterCloud?** The organization is significantly lacking some times. I will say they have listened to feedback and implemented some very good changes, but for example, there is still no way to organize workflows into folders or labels. Edit 1/14/25 Although their search funtion has improved, I'd still like to say that we cant group workflows and everything is based on a naming convention for us. **What problems is BetterCloud solving and how is that benefiting you?** They are saving us time. It allows us to set up automations and workflows between apps that we normally wouldn't be able to do. For example, a manager wants a Google Group containing users with a specific job title (eg. "SDR") and for membership to automatically update when new hires join. This wouldn't be possible without BetterCloud which monitors the Okta groups for membership changes and then adds that Google user to the group. We also use BC for our offboarding workflow which is pretty extensive and would take up to an hour per person to do manually. Update: A while back we moved away from BetterCloud in favor of Okta Workflows since we were already paying for that, even though it's not as user friendly. Recently, I set up BetterCloud again in Okta after they acquired G2 Track, and the SSO setup was super easy, so I still recommend BetterCloud even though we're not actively using it anymore! **What do you dislike about BetterCloud?** Sometimes the interface is confusing to navigate but going through the BetterCloud training videos helps you familiarize yourself with how all of the sections work. **What problems is BetterCloud solving and how is that benefiting you?** Speeding up our offboarding tasks via Workflows, updating Google Group membership based on Okta changes, adding users to Slack groups automatically, and setting managers in Slack based on Okta. These help our apps work more efficiently together and take a huge load off of our IT team members. ### 26. What we like the most is being able to onboard and de-provision users faster, create and manage groups, licenses, signatures, apps - all in one place. Setting up delegation access is simpler (for employees who are in training, for example - their supervisors can share emails for a time and that's really helpful). You can create email addresses in bulk or individually. You can run scripts on google drive and track ownership of documents, set up and monitor alerts and audit logs, control roles and priveleges (that's great for security). You can create workflows. That's just the bare minimum. Customer service is very responsive. **What do you dislike about BetterCloud?** I really dislike nothing. They do a great job. It syncs every night, but sometimes you need to use it in the middle of the day. When creating groups with external email addresses in the interface, you have to do each one separately. You can upload a spreadsheet to do many at once, but doing it in the interface is the way I like to use it. The spreadsheet way is powerful, you just have to make sure you have everything correct before uploading. **What problems is BetterCloud solving and how is that benefiting you?** BetterCloud is making Google Workspace management way more simple and allowing me to create rules to automatically do things for users or groups based on actions I've made. It would let me fully automate things, but I prefer partial automation to keep an eye on things. It allows me to create signatures for faculty and staff and apply them easily. It lets me create users and groups from an uploaded spreadsheet. It lets me download spreadsheets of everyone in a group or OU. All of these things come in handy often for me. I also love the automation tasks. You can set it to do pretty much anything you want based on triggers you choose. ### 28.
