What do you like best about Berkeley DB 12c?

Our team used Berkeley DB Java Edition in the past for a highly scalable middleware product. The product quality was outstanding. The team left largely intact after the Oracle acquisition provided phenomenal support. The user forum is also very active and often we could get a response on the forums from architects on the team. What do you dislike about Berkeley DB 12c?

Occasionally we ran into some regressions. At times, the database format changes requires some extra cycles to work around in our application. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Berkeley DB 12c:

Familiarize yourself with the documentation and APIs first to get a good grasp on how easy it is for developers to use this database

Keep up with new releases and schedule time to make version changes to reduce the risk of regressions introduced by the library
