**What do you like best about Basecamp?**

The interface of Basecamp is straightforward. The platform makes daily collaboration with the team simple, allowing us to share all types of files, communicate effectively through group chats, and keep everyone updated on project status. Its straightforward setup and essential features help our team stay organized and on track, making Basecamp a part of our workflow.

**What do you dislike about Basecamp?**

It offers limited integration options with other tools, especially those that myself being part of in digital marketing, like social media platforms. While it covers the basics well, it lacks some advanced features and seamless connections with external apps, which can be a drawback for teams needing more activities to be performed here as scheduling posts, etc. Additionally, although implementation is generally easy, new team members still need some guidance to fully utilize all the functionalities. But it's used in our day-to-day activity for collaboration with each team member, the team member just gets used to it anyway.

We would love if Basecamp would partner with a AI company to use AI agents in their software.

Managing our R&D, ongoing marketing, and task management were difficult especially as we onboarded more remote workers. The collaborative environment of Basecamp allows us to talk about projects while avoiding long meetings.

  ### 17. Great for some teams, but not for all

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Basecamp?**

Pricing model is great for teams that have a lot of users... or that change users a lot. They are always improving and have created a really solid and valuable product. It is easy to use, Easy to implement for a team (totally customizable) and easy to integrate into other products through Zapier. Support is fantastic, but not needed much.

**What do you dislike about Basecamp?**

The tool is very flexible, but that means if it is set up for one persons working style, it may not be as easy for others

**What problems is Basecamp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being the one true source for information in the company

  ### 18. Great for Small Businesses

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lauren G. | Project Coordinator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 29, 2025

**What do you like best about Basecamp?**

Basecamp is one of the few project management solutions to offer built in chat, multi project folders/views, and file storage all in one. When I was building my small business, Basecamp was a no brainer for myself and to recommend to clients.

**What do you dislike about Basecamp?**

Larger teams would definitely lack the type of intense automation capabilities of Basecamp and the notifications can be a little too overwhelming and niche but I believe you can adjust this.

**What problems is Basecamp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It’s a great all in one solution for us. We don’t need to expand our tech stack to get basic work management and portfolio management that makes sense at scale. But, I would say 100+ employee teams might need more in the way of team visibility - we have a great set up right now and the simplicity makes it great, but for about 10 employees or less.

  ### 19. Basecamp is good for small teams, but it can be limiting for larger projects with complex needs.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pradeep T. | SOftware engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 10, 2025

**What do you like best about Basecamp?**

Switched to Basecamp a while back to manage projects for our marketing team (5 people). Sold on the simplicity and clean interface. Perfect for basic task management and keeping track of conversations.

**What do you dislike about Basecamp?**

Needed features like time tracking and built-in reporting, which Basecamp lacks. Everything felt siloed, forcing us to use separate tools.Adding new clients and projects became messy. Basecamp's structure felt rigid for our growing needs.

**What problems is Basecamp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a front-end developer, I collaborate with UI/UX designers and clients on projects. Once the UI/UX is approved, our client relations team adds the client, designers, and me to Basecamp. I use Basecamp to interact with designers and clients, set tasks, and establish timelines. This allows our client relationship team to track the exact timeline for front-end development work. Basecamp also facilitates easy conversations with clients and UI/UX designers, eliminating unnecessary discussions and delays. This has significantly improved my working efficiency, making our workflow smoother and helping us complete projects on time.

  ### 20. Great Project Management for Tracking and Finishing Tasks

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

Project tracking. Helping me in prioritising the most important and urgent tasks

  ### 21. Great for organizing big events

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rae T. | Substitute teacher, Arts and Crafts, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 31, 2025

**What do you like best about Basecamp?**

I have found that Basecamp keeps everything quite organized, even from year to year.

**What do you dislike about Basecamp?**

The only downside that I don't like is that for marking something done with multiple people is that if it is marked as done by one, even if not everyone is done, it's essentially completed. It would be better to have it where individuals could mark themselves as done their part, then when all of the names are checked off, it could be marked as complete.

**What problems is Basecamp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Everyone is all over the east coast, so connecting this way makes everyone on task.

  ### 22. Effortless Project Control and Collaboration

**What do you like best about Basecamp?**

It is very much efficient in team collaboration and is very easy to use.

**What do you dislike about Basecamp?**

As of now, I haven’t encountered any issues, everything appears to be good

**What problems is Basecamp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps in team collaboration, making it super easy to communicate between team members. Another great feature I like is the Message Boards, which allow everyone to see the important announcements that have been made.

  ### 26. Great And Simple Project Management

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 18, 2025

**What do you like best about Basecamp?**

Basecamp is a great tool for getting everyone in a company on the same page after years of struggling with disparate emails, text messages, etc. And as project management software goes, it's relatively simple and easy to use, which is nice when your employees are tech-averse. It's also a flat price for an unlimited number of users, which makes budgeting easy.

**What do you dislike about Basecamp?**

Using Basecamp most effectively (it seems to me) requires that you already have a process/procedure in mind for how things should be done and why, along with employees who are on board with using it and can reason their way to deciding where to put things, who to notify, etc. In this sense, Basecamp is almost too simple; it doesn't offer the little automations that would constrain and lubricate use by employees who just want to check off tasks and move on without having to do anything further. This is less a criticism of Basecamp than my own organization, admittedly.

**What problems is Basecamp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It provides one source of information for most employees rather than trying to organize everything through texts and emails, cloud services, etc. Its interface is friendly and relatively simple and mostly doesn't intimidate our older employees who would rather lie down in traffic than learn new software.

  ### 27. Everything you need to stay organized is here!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** sakshi s. | Customer Success Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 05, 2025

**What do you like best about Basecamp?**

Basecamp functionalities really kicks in for collaborative teams. It helps to coordinate and share information among team, and keep record of everything at one place. Handling different teams under a single platform really works for us. You can easily create different projects, assign tasks to your teammates, and manage your day to day task at work really easily. Support is readily available to assist in case you are stuck somewhere.

**What do you dislike about Basecamp?**

Everything works well. Mobile interface can be improved though.

**What problems is Basecamp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problem of collaboration among team and storing data or information or even documents at a single place so that everyone in the team can access it. Other than that, even communication platform among the team is really handful.

  ### 28. Helpful Email Notifications, but Project Chats Are Hard to Find

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consulting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Basecamp?**

Ping have a distinct sound, also getting the notification on email helps

**What do you dislike about Basecamp?**

Projects seem to get confusing, especially how to get all the project chats individually. I believe there is need to make a section to stores all the chats for easy access. (if there already is, it is not visible)

**What problems is Basecamp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

alternative to google chat, projects can go through fine as well

  ### 29. Every time I need him, he’s my co-worker!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ryan H. | Social Media Manager, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 11, 2025

**What do you like best about Basecamp?**

I was very relieved when Basecamp came into my working life; the intuitive interface ensures that even those with no knowledge can understand it. Making to-do lists allows me to organize my day, delegate work to my team, and check items when they are finished. Crossing those items off the list is a wonderful sensation! His ability to consolidate discussions, documents, and assignments in one place is priceless. Thanks to the campaign function, I can organize the development and deployment of content initiatives in a methodical way, which keeps my team on the same page. We can keep ourselves informed without being overwhelmed by customizing notifications.

**What do you dislike about Basecamp?**

The user interface seems a bit old to me; compared with other tools today, it lacks modernity and aesthetic appeal. I hope you will soon be able to add more frequent updates.

**What problems is Basecamp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It was like finding the anchor we needed in a sea of chaos when we started using Basecamp for business. It was a complete disaster when we used to use separate programs for tasks, chat, and files. Thanks to all your work, each of us is aware of our own responsibilities and when they should be fulfilled, thanks to the common lists of tasks. We can keep track of important events using the calendar and all our discussions in a central location with the message board. No more communication errors or misplaced emails, nor disorganized tasks, and unable to achieve our goals.

  ### 30. Great for Centralized Communication, But Lacks Advanced Features and Is Pricey

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cristian R. | Logistics Ground Operations, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 16, 2025

**What do you like best about Basecamp?**

It helps a lots to centralize the communication between all the parties involved in the project/s.

You can share docs, schedule stuffs with Google calendar, etc.

**What do you dislike about Basecamp?**

What I don't like is that you don't have a bunch of functions when it comes to create difficult projects,

Lack of strong reports, also the tool is kinda expensive allowing just a small team to use it.

**What problems is Basecamp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Collaboration with customer more directly, shows a complete landscape about how's everything day to day.

  ### 31. Keeps teams aligned and projects on track

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 10, 2025

**What do you like best about Basecamp?**

I really like how easy Basecamp is to use — even for someone who isn’t very tech-savvy. Everything is in one place: tasks, messages, files, and chats. It saves us a lot of time and avoids confusion because everyone knows where to find what they need.

**What do you dislike about Basecamp?**

basecamp has been a great tool for me. I don’t dislike anything about it
It’s intuitive, reliable, and helps me stay organized and productive.

**What problems is Basecamp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It keeps all my work, tasks, and team conversations in one place, so I don’t have to use email, chat apps, and spreadsheets separately. For example, instead of sending long email threads about a marketing campaign, we just use Basecamp to share updates, assign tasks, and check deadlines. It makes everything more organized and less stressful.

The To-Do system of setting assignments with dates and notifications for team members is extremely helpful for keeping production timelines on track. The ability to integrate Everhour for time tracking ensures we stay in budget or if our estimates need to be revised for future projects.

**What do you dislike about Basecamp?**

While easy-to-use and implement with little training, there are undocumented intricacies to using Basecamp's interface quickly and efficiently that can only be learned through frequent use.

**What problems is Basecamp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Basecamp keeps tasks from slipping through the cracks in a hectic and fast-paced production atmosphere. Our accounting department relies on Everhour reports that are integrated into our Basecamp tasks.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Govind T. | Software developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 07, 2025

**What do you like best about Basecamp?**

Basecamp is a simple, no-fuss project management tool that works well for small teams. It focuses on easy communication, with tools like message boards and group chat that help teams stay in sync without relying too much on email. It’s very beginner-friendly and keeps things organized.

**What do you dislike about Basecamp?**

Customization is limited: There aren’t many options to tailor workflows or automate tasks compared to more feature-rich competitors.

**What problems is Basecamp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Basecamp keeps my team organized and on the same page. Instead of endless emails and scattered files, everything—from chats to tasks—is in one place, so it’s easier to track what’s going on. It really cuts down confusion and keeps things moving smoothly.

**What do you dislike about Basecamp?**

The UI is a bit confusing at times and takes some time to learn.

**What problems is Basecamp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Basecamp helps us collaborate effectively and manage tasks in a way that the whole team can see and visualize.

  ### 41. Basecamp - a great way to collaborate

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michele Y. | Executive Director of Operations, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

The best feature is that Basecamp is "clean" and allows for user-friendly organization of projects and tasks.

  ### 42. Simple To-Do List for Individuals, But Limited for Complex Workflows

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 29, 2026

**What do you like best about Basecamp?**

Simple to-do list, great for individual use. Easy to implement.

**What do you dislike about Basecamp?**

Not great for complex workflows. When multiple people are working on a job or workflow, it is not efficient and does not let you know progress being complete.

**What problems is Basecamp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have moved from basecamp to Karbon. Basecamp was great for individual to-do lists.

  ### 43. User Friendly Task / Project Managment Software

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jaymin J. | Director of Quality, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2025

**What do you like best about Basecamp?**

Basecamp does a great job making it easy for others to complete tasks and network. It significantly cuts down on meeting time and creates transparancy where silo's often exist in a manufacturing and production environment. Implementation is simple and straight forward. Customer support has always been great. We use the software on a daily basis for items that would normally have been done with pen and paper.

**What do you dislike about Basecamp?**

There are few downsides to Basecamp.
If a person forgets to assign the next to-do, projects can remain open as there is no way to see if a project is not assigned to anyone.
It would be helpful if there was a language option to easily convert between English and Spanish for employees that are better suited for reading and writing in Spanish as opposed to English.
Older verisions of Basecamp you could assign persons to tasks in templates. This feature is missed and it would be great if it could be brought back.

**What problems is Basecamp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Basecamp reduces silo's amongst departments. It helps to create accountablity.

  ### 44. So easy to use

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Market Research | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 30, 2025

**What do you like best about Basecamp?**

Very easy to use platform to send files and messages. No instructions needed, very intuitive.

**What do you dislike about Basecamp?**

Just that an admin has to add users. I cannot as a user add my colleagues as users myself.

**What problems is Basecamp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Basecamp makes it easy to transfer large files to our client. We can also include a message about the file. It is very easy to use and much more so than other file transfer platforms that I have experienced.

  ### 45. Effortless and Calm Project Management with Basecamp

**What do you dislike about Basecamp?**

I haven't felt anything to dislike about basecamp so far.

**What problems is Basecamp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Basecamp helps fix the issue of work being spread across too many tools. Instead of juggling task trackers, emails, and separate file sharing apps, everything for a project in one central place.

  ### 46. Basecamp helps you keep your team on the same page

**What do you dislike about Basecamp?**

Navigation between different threads could be faster

  ### 47. Basecamp managed to put our projects in order

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ellie H. | Graphic Designer, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 29, 2025

**What do you like best about Basecamp?**

Basecamp came as a solution that I didn’t know we needed until we implemented it. The first thing that caught my eye was its design: clean, visual, and very easy to understand. The whiteboards are great; it allowed us to organize everything at a glance, and we were able to customize them as we wanted. Automation takes things to a new level: tasks that once took hours to complete now resolve themselves. And I can’t help but mention how it integrates with Slack and other utility tools. That made my team better connected and work more closely. It serves as more than just a project tool; it's akin to having a proactive assistant at your disposal, requiring no expertise to operate.

**What do you dislike about Basecamp?**

Although it has been great and error-free, when we work on very large projects with many real-time updates, sometimes you notice that the platform slows down a bit. It hasn't slowed us down, but optimizing it for those cases would be ideal.

**What problems is Basecamp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before using Basecamp, our project management was a disaster. No one could properly follow the endless spreadsheets and email chains used for everything. It was effortless to get lost in the process and even more so to cause delays. Since Basecamp came, everything changed. Visual charts help us see what everyone is working on, and automations save us a lot of time. A clear example was during the recent year-end project launch: we had a thousand things going at the same time, and Basecamp helped us keep everything under control. Being able to make adjustments on the fly was key to not getting lost in the chaos. Today, we can’t imagine managing projects without this tool.

  ### 48. Basecamp Helps Us Stay Organized and Connected on All Our Projects

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Karen M. | Administrative Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 28, 2025

**What do you like best about Basecamp?**

I love that every tool I use is all in once place. I love having our information centralized and easy to find. I love that I can search for whatever I'm looking for and it comes up; the search works! Once we signed up, it was so easy to get up-and-running and get everyone on the same page. I use this tool every single day and I don't know how I would continue to do my job without it. It's really centralized all of our information and communication into one easy-to-use and easy-to-search place.

The one time I had to reach out to customer support they responded quickly and answered my questions in a friendly, helpful manner.

**What do you dislike about Basecamp?**

There is nothing I dislike about Basecamp.

**What problems is Basecamp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

All of our business and project communication was fragmented before Basecamp. Some things were emailed, some things were in Google Drive, and it was frustrating to have to search for pieces of information in multiple locations. We had tried tools like Trello and Slack, but neither of them quite solved the problem.

Basecamp gives us the functionality of Google Drive PLUS the functionality of Slack PLUS a task manager all in once place. I can still store things in Google Drive, but sharing them in BC makes them easier to find for the whole team. It's allowed us to communicate and keep information in one central location so that everyone knows where to look - in one place.

Basecamp also improves their services and adds or improves functionality all the time. When they update things, they send the best messages explaining them. It feels like the people who run BC understand how my brain works. It's very intuitive for me.

Plus BC has a super simple subscription model. You pay one monthly fee and you get unlimited projects and users. I don't have to do complicated calculations about who or what can be on BC: I can add everything and everyone.
