### 2. KPI visibility made simple with basecamp

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Krista R. | Senior engineer, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 06, 2025

**What do you like best about Basecamp?**

Basecamp simplifies project management while still giving me the depth i need to stay on top of complex workflows. The platform feels intuitive yet powerful enough to handle the technical rigor of my projects. On of my favorite features is the ability to track the key performance indicators and baseline assessments throughout the entire project lifecycle. I often work on multiple projects simultaneously and having a centralized view of KPIs helps me quickly identify if i'm on track or need to course correct myself.

**What do you dislike about Basecamp?**

While alerts are helpful, they can sometimes become noisy. I easily get flooded with notifications that aren't always critical.

**What problems is Basecamp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managing dependencies and task flows was a problem, with basecamp's drag and drop flows and dependency management, i can map out processes visually and ensure nothing slips through the cracks. My projects need structure but also flexibility. Basecamp's customizable activities and templates strike that balance letting me standardize processes while adapting to unique project needs.

 ### 3. Effortless Collaboration and Organization with Basecamp

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Keah M. | Webmaster, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 23, 2025

**What do you like best about Basecamp?**

Basecamp makes it easier for me to collaborate with external vendors on creative projects. It keeps all the files well organized and ensures that everyone receives timely notifications.

**What do you dislike about Basecamp?**

So far, I haven't found anything I dislike about Basecamp. It has been helpful to me.

**What problems is Basecamp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The people I was collaborating with were not on campus, and this made it much easier for us to work together. They could let me know what they needed, I was able to send them files, and we could mark tasks as completed as we progressed.

 ### 4. My experience and insights on basecamp

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** suresh n. | Solutions engineer, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 05, 2025

**What do you like best about Basecamp?**

What I appreciate about basecamp is how seamlessly it brings everything together in one place. The integrations are a huge win for me, being able to connect with CRM tools, marketing platforms and even customer service softwares. On the back office side, the ability to integrate with accounting software and ERP systems keeps operations smooth and aligned. When it comes to content and documents, basecamp really shines. File sharing is straight forward, notes can be shared internally or externally and the search functionality saves me time when i need to find something fast.

**What do you dislike about Basecamp?**

I dont dislike anything about basecamp. It works perfectly for me always.

**What problems is Basecamp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With basecamp, everything is centralized- tasks, discussions, files and announcements are all in one place. The ability to involve external users in discussions is a huge benefit for me because i can collaborate with clients without resorting to separate platforms. Another problem basecamp addresses for me is the version control and document management. I no longer worry about working on outdated files because versioning keeps everything tracked. The search feature saves me from digging through endless folders.

 ### 5. Effortless Project Management with Seamless Templates

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nicole D.

**Reviewed Date:** December 03, 2025

**What do you like best about Basecamp?**

I appreciate Basecamp for its ability to keep all of my team's projects organized. It's a fantastic tool for sorting client information and ensures we don't forget to accomplish necessary tasks throughout the day. The means of communication it provides is invaluable to us. One of the standout features for me is the ability to apply templates into projects. This functionality makes notation much quicker and more seamless, saving me from the repetitive task of retyping the same information for every project. This not only simplifies the workflow but also saves me a lot of time, making it an indispensable tool for our operations. Additionally, the initial setup of Basecamp was easy, which facilitated a smooth transition for our team without any hassle.

**What do you dislike about Basecamp?**

I wish there was an improved scheduling feature in Basecamp. It needs to include a more detailed scheduling option with greater ease of use and improved features.

**What problems is Basecamp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Basecamp helps my team stay organized, track tasks, and communicate effectively. The use of templates saves us time by reducing repetitive typing.

 ### 6. Customizable Dashboard with Easy Setup, Perfect for International Teams

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stacey Leveille-Casseus S. | Ecommerce Specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 16, 2025

**What do you like best about Basecamp?**

I like how I can customize my dashboard and create announcements by team or select few. It's handy being able to reference back or pin conversations. I enjoy changing the color scheme for project card layout, home screen personalization, and the ability to enable and disable tools and schedule. The navigation layout was easy to view and flow through to set up tasks and chats. Basecamp helps with organizing and being more aware of deadlines, and I'm able to go back quickly to an old task to reference.

**What do you dislike about Basecamp?**

It's difficult to create a recurring task. The flow setup has limitations. Not ideal for complex projects. No, because of the pricing model structure there are limitations.

**What problems is Basecamp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Basecamp for communication with my international team, organizing tasks with visual timelines, and being more aware of deadlines. It also helps me quickly reference old tasks.

 ### 7. Simplifies Project Management, Room for Improvement

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** charles cardin N.

**Reviewed Date:** November 25, 2025

**What do you like best about Basecamp?**

I use Basecamp to streamline project coordination, team communication, and organization, all within a single platform. The biggest advantage I experience is how Basecamp consolidates various scattered tools—emails, chat apps, and file-sharing services—into one clean, centralized space. This comprehensive integration saves me significant time and mental effort. Each project on Basecamp benefits from having its own dedicated space for to-dos, files, messages, and schedules, which simplifies tracking and reduces time spent searching through email threads. Basecamp's message boards and group chat (Campfire) make discussions transparent while minimizing chatter and avoiding information getting lost in tools like Slack. The to-do lists are straightforward, allowing me to assign tasks and set deadlines clearly, keeping all team members accountable. Automatic check-ins are a standout feature that eliminate the need for frequent meetings by asking important questions like “What did you work on today?” and help maintain alignment within the team. I also appreciate the feature that allows for easy collaboration with clients while keeping internal communications private. Basecamp's design is impeccably simple, meaning there's no steep learning curve, which eases quick team adoption. Communication is organized effectively through message boards, providing a permanent and clear record of decisions, which is beneficial for remote or asynchronous teams. Our team experiences fewer meetings thanks to automatic check-ins that enable sharing updates asynchronously, thus contributing to a calmer workflow. Basecamp's task management, with easily assignable tasks and visible deadlines, drives team accountability and keeps projects on track without micromanagement. Basecamp minimizes unnecessary notifications, which promotes focus and a less disruptive work environment. Lastly, the platform excels in client collaboration by offering project access to clients while maintaining the privacy of internal conversations, enhancing transparency and organization without overexposure.

**What do you dislike about Basecamp?**

While Basecamp has many strengths, there are a few areas where it doesn’t fully meet every team’s needs. One limitation is advanced task management. Basecamp’s to-dos are simple and effective, but teams that rely on subtasks, dependencies, recurring tasks with complex rules, or built-in time tracking may find it lacking. For multi-phase or highly detailed projects, this can mean relying on additional tools to fill the gaps. Another area for improvement is its project overviews. Basecamp offers schedules and summaries, but it doesn’t provide a comprehensive dashboard or Gantt-style timeline view. For teams managing multiple overlapping projects, it can be harder to get an at-a-glance understanding of workloads or spot potential bottlenecks. While Basecamp excels at asynchronous communication, real-time collaboration is limited. It doesn’t have live document editing, collaborative whiteboards, or dynamic chat rooms. Teams that need frequent, fast-paced interaction may need to supplement Basecamp with other tools for brainstorming or rapid iteration. The platform’s notification system is intentionally minimal, which helps reduce distractions, but it offers limited customization. Teams may want more control over which updates trigger alerts, especially for critical tasks or deadlines. Integrations are another area where Basecamp could expand. While it covers core project management needs, it doesn’t connect with as many third-party apps as some competitors. Teams using CRMs, analytics platforms, or specialized workflow tools may have to perform manual workarounds. Finally, file management within Basecamp is functional but basic. There’s limited version history, search, and folder structure options. For larger projects or teams handling many assets, this can make finding or tracking files more time-consuming.

**What problems is Basecamp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Basecamp to centralize project management, reducing scattered communication, missed deadlines, and meeting overload. It's a single source for tasks, communication, and file organization, enhancing transparency and collaboration with both team members and clients.

 ### 8. Basecamp: Streamlined Collaboration and Outstanding Value for Non-Profits

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rachel S. | Senior People Operations Generalist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 25, 2025

**What do you like best about Basecamp?**

As a board member for a growing non-profit organization focused on community development, I've seen firsthand how communication clutter can slow down critical decision-making. For us, the challenge wasn't a lack of tools, but a surplus—we were drowning in email threads, scattered documents, and multiple chat platforms. Implementing Basecamp solved this problem, offering a single, clean, and distraction-free environment that is perfectly suited for the rhythms of board and committee work.

Our organization opted for the Basecamp Pro Unlimited plan, which, at a flat rate of $299/month (when billed annually), is exceptionally cost-effective for an organization that regularly brings in new volunteers, committee members, and external consultants (all of whom can be added at no extra charge). For non-profits, Basecamp also offers a 10% discount, making the value proposition even stronger.

**What do you dislike about Basecamp?**

Basecamp's intentional simplicity can be a limitation for operations-heavy tasks that require detailed tracking.

Limited Reporting and Analytics: For our core staff, Basecamp's reporting is insufficient. It is not designed to track workload capacity across the organization, measure detailed time spent on tasks, or create complex custom reports on project metrics. Staff relies on other tools for deep operational analytics.

Missing Task Dependencies: You cannot easily set up task dependencies (where Task B can only start after Task A is complete). While this is rarely needed at the board level, it complicates larger, interdependent work streams for the staff.

**What problems is Basecamp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Centralized Context: Every major initiative, campaign, or committee (e.g., "Annual Gala," "Finance Committee," "Strategic Plan 2025") is set up as its own "Project." Inside, we have dedicated sections for Message Boards, To-Dos, Schedule, and Docs & Files. This structure instantly eliminates the need to dig through email or shared drives. All context is self-contained.

Message Boards Over Email: The Message Board is indispensable for structured, asynchronous discussions. Instead of 20 replies in a massive email chain, Basecamp keeps replies organized beneath the original topic. This is ideal for formal announcements, proposals, and decisions where historical context needs to be preserved.

 ### 9. Organized Project Management, Needs More Integrations

**What do you like best about Basecamp?**

I like the shared workflow -- it's a great way to house content that multiple collaborators are working on at the same time with the ability to track events and status

**What do you dislike about Basecamp?**

It uses a lot of RAM and memory, and it sometimes slows down my computer. As someone who usually has a lot of tabs open, this becomes an issue for me.

It’s a powerful group workflow tool at an affordable price, especially for large media projects.

 ### 15. Effortless Collaboration, But Lacks Advanced Tracking Features

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 19, 2025

**What do you like best about Basecamp?**

What I like best about Basecamp is how it brings all project communication, files, and tasks into one simple, organized space. As an account manager, it helps me keep both my internal team and clients aligned without endless email threads. The message boards, to-do lists, and automatic check-ins make it easy to track progress and stay proactive on deliverables. It’s a clean, reliable platform that makes collaboration feel effortless.

**What do you dislike about Basecamp?**

What I dislike about Basecamp is that it lacks some of the advanced project tracking or reporting features found in more robust project management tools. It’s great for communication and organization, but for teams that rely heavily on metrics or timelines, it can feel a bit limited.

**What problems is Basecamp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Basecamp is solving the problem of scattered communication and disorganized project management. Instead of juggling multiple tools or long email threads, everything from client updates to task assignments lives in one place. This helps me stay on top of deadlines, reduce miscommunication, and keep projects moving smoothly. ### 16. Reliable and user-friendly project management tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mrudul P. | Product Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 28, 2025

**What do you like best about Basecamp?**

I really appreciate how intuitive the interface is; it’s straightforward to set up projects and add team members without much hassle. The messaging and to-do lists keep everyone on the same page, and I like that it combines communication and task tracking all in one place. The simplicity helps teams focus on getting work done instead of wasting time figuring out the tool.

**What do you dislike about Basecamp?**

Sometimes the notification system can be overwhelming, especially when the project gets busy with lots of updates. It would be great to have more granular control over what notifications you receive. Also, while Basecamp covers all the basics well, it lacks some advanced features like deeper reporting or integrations with certain specialized tools we use.

**What problems is Basecamp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Basecamp helps us centralize project communication and task tracking, which used to be scattered across emails and different apps. This consolidation saves a lot of time and confusion, making team collaboration much smoother and deadlines easier to manage. It also provides transparency across teams, so everyone knows what’s prioritized and who’s responsible for what.

**What do you dislike about Basecamp?**

What I dislike about Basecamp is that it can feel a bit limited compared to more advanced project management tools. Customisation options and reporting features are fairly basic, which can make it harder to manage complex projects or track detailed progress.

**What problems is Basecamp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Basecamp solves the problem of scattered communication and disorganised project information by bringing messages, tasks, schedules, and files into one central place. This benefits me by reducing confusion, saving time switching between tools, and helping the team stay aligned and accountable on projects.

 ### 23. strategic enabler for resource driven project success

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vidhya G. | AI Research Engineer, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 29, 2025

**What do you like best about Basecamp?**

As someone who oversees multiple teams and projects, i appreciate tools that reduce noise rather than add to it. Basecamp is one just tool which does a great job of centralizing communication, tasks and files in a way that is easy for everyone to adopt from engineers to non technical management. The tool's resource management capabilities bring structure and visibility to complex project environments without overwhelming the team.

**What do you dislike about Basecamp?**

basecamp tool helps me to stay organized without overcomplicating things. It is not overloaded with features and that is exactly why it works so well.

**What problems is Basecamp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With basecamp's resource management features, i can define and allocate human and material resources based on skills, availability and project needs. ### 24. Basecamp is great for team flow

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** pooja k. | Marketing Director, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 28, 2025

**What do you like best about Basecamp?**

Basecamp gives me a bird's eye view of everything that is happening without having to search through threads or chase updates. It is not just a project management tool, it is a culture enabler. I especially appreciate how basecamp encourages asynchronous communication. It reduces the need for constant meetings and slack pings, which means my team can focus more on deep work and creative thinking. The automatic check-ins are a game changer for visibility without micromanagement.

**What do you dislike about Basecamp?**

basecamp's flat structure while great for transparency can make it harder to manage complex and multi phase projects with dependencies. It requires me to bridge these gaps manually. At the same time, I appreciate basecamp's minimalist approach, but that same simplicity can sometimes feel limiting.

**What problems is Basecamp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Basecamp's automatic check-ins replace many of my status meetings. My team members can respond on their own time which cuts down on calendar clutter. The platform lets users pause notifications, set work hours and unsubscribe from threads. That means more control over when and how i engage.

 ### 25. A solid tool for managing projects and teams

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

I love the task management ability. I can create to-do lists, assign tasks and set deadlines in just a few clicks. It is easy to see who is responsible for what and i don't have to micromanage because progress is visible at a glance. That saves me time and keeps the team accountable without adding stress. I don't have to dig through endless threads or juggle multiple tools, everything is right there, organized and easy to follow.

**What do you dislike about Basecamp?**

Notifications from the application sometimes is overwhelming for me. I sometimes feel like I'm drowning in updates or missing important ones because there is not enough granularity in how alerts are managed.

**What problems is Basecamp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When i started using basecamp, the biggest hit for me was task management. It changed everything that was exhausting for me before. I can create clear to-do lists, assign tasks and set deadlines in minutes. Everyone sees what's expected of them in my team and i can track their progress without micromanaging. The automatic reminders i set help keep deadlines on track without me having to chase people constantly. It is accountability without awkward follow ups.

 ### 26. Keeps projects organized and the team connected effortlessly

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Walter H. | Gerente de recursos humanos, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 11, 2025

**What do you like best about Basecamp?**

What I like most is how simple it is to keep everything organized in one place. I can assign tasks, share files, have group discussions, and track progress without jumping between multiple tools. The to-do lists and automatic check-ins save me from having to chase people for updates, and the notifications are clear without being overwhelming. It’s also super easy for new team members to get on board since there’s hardly any learning curve.

**What do you dislike about Basecamp?**

While it’s great for keeping things simple, sometimes I wish it had more advanced features for project tracking, like Gantt charts or time tracking without needing third-party apps. The interface works fine, but it feels a little dated, and customizing the layout is pretty limited. Also, when managing multiple complex projects at once, it can get tricky to keep a high-level overview without extra tools.

**What problems is Basecamp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Basecamp helps me avoid the chaos of scattered emails, endless chat threads, and missing files. By having tasks, conversations, and documents in one place, I save time and reduce misunderstandings with my team. It keeps everyone accountable, so deadlines are clearer and projects move forward without constant follow-ups. This means less stress for me and more focus on actually getting work done.

 ### 27. Effortless Project Organization with Intuitive Drag-and-Drop Features

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Thomas L. | Operations Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2025

**What do you like best about Basecamp?**

Basecamp keeps my projects structured without being overly complicated. with grad and drop features, i can quickly move items between lists, reorder priorities and upload documents just by dragging them into place. The calendar view in basecamp is incredibly useful for planning and execution. This visual timeline helps me anticipate workload, manage deadlines and ensure nothing slips through the cracks.

**What do you dislike about Basecamp?**

It is hard to get detailed insights into team performance or project metrics without exporting data elsewhere.

**What problems is Basecamp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The calendar view maps projects to a clear schedule with day by day deliverable so i can plan ahead and avoid last minute surprises. The project mapping feature gives a high level view of dependencies and milestones helping us spot bottlenecks early. The workflow management tools keep tasks organized and ensure accountability while the drag and drop feature makes prioritizing and reorganizing work effortless.

The all-in-one simplicity is what I like most. It puts message boards, to-dos, and files in one place, which reduces app fatigue because I don't have to jump between different tools all day.

It lacks advanced project tracking features like Gantt charts or built-in time tracking. While it’s great for general collaboration, it can feel a bit too basic for very technical or complex projects.

**What problems is Basecamp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solves information fragmentation. Instead of project details being lost in chat apps or emails, Basecamp provides a single source of truth that keeps the whole team aligned and reduces the need for status meetings.

There is almost no learning curve leading to faster adoption and less time spent on training. The way basecamp structures to dos, messages and schedules keeps projects moving without micromanagement.

There is not native time tracking and robust analytics which makes it harder to measure productivity or forecast resources without relying on other tools.

**What problems is Basecamp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Now, i quickly see what's assigned, what's pending and what's done. It gives me clarity and accountability. It also improves team's transparency which means fewer status meeting and more time spent on actual problem solving.

**What do you like best about Basecamp?**

I have been using Basecamp daily because of its unique and easy-to-use features, like its simplicity and easy integration that brings together to-do lists, message boards, file sharing, schedules, and team chat with ease of implementation. It Promotes clear communication and accountability by keeping everything organized and transparent. Basecamp is by far the best project management tool I have used. I wish I could have my own Basecamp to just organize my personal life. It is so intuitive to use, the team is so responsive in rolling out better features, and it is not overwhelming for clients to join me on. I use Basecamp on a daily basis, it is so nice that our work platform does not cause friction in my daily work life.

**What do you dislike about Basecamp?**

The only thing that I would love to see on Basecamp is the ability to sort the to-do lists in a project by due date automatically.

**What problems is Basecamp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Basecamp has made it to easy to organize projects for each client I am responsible for. It keeps things clear for me and for the client. It allows me to feel connected with my team even though we are remote, and makes real time collaboration easy for everyone.

 ### 40. A simple yet powerful hub for engineering teams

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ramesh K. | Lead engineer, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 30, 2025

The message boards keep discussions organized and searchable so decisions dont get lost in chat threads. I also appreciate the built in scheduling and hill charts for visual progress tracking, they give a clear picture of where the projects stand without micromanaging.

**What do you dislike about Basecamp?**

I dont see much of downsides to basecamp. It is a well though out platform that supports both collaboration and autonomy.

**What problems is Basecamp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The charts feature is particularly valuable my engineering team, it provides a visual representation of progress that goes beyond binary done and not done tracking, helping identify bottlenecks early in complex development cycles. Automated check-ins replace synchronous stand-ups reducing meeting load while maintaining accountability.

 ### 41. A great tool for communication and collaboration with customers

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 01, 2025

**What do you like best about Basecamp?**

Basecamp is an excellent tool for improving communication between customers and businesses. I really like that it allows you to manage different types of content and decide what information your customers can see. It also provides direct communication channels, which makes collaboration smoother and faster. Another great feature is the ability to create calendar events, notes, and documents all in one place, making it a strong repository for project-related information.

**What do you dislike about Basecamp?**

The biggest drawback is the lack of a search bar. When you need to find something specific, you have to manually browse through folders or threads, which can be time-consuming and frustrating, especially if there’s a lot of information stored. A robust search function would make the platform much more efficient.

**What problems is Basecamp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Basecamp helps us centralize communication with customers and keep all important documents, updates, and schedules in one place. This reduces miscommunication, saves time, and makes collaboration much more transparent and organized.

 ### 42. Absolutely Love Basecamp

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Xiomara M. | Social Media & Content Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 30, 2025

**What do you like best about Basecamp?**

We’ve been using Basecamp for a while now, and what I love most is how it brings everything into one place. Instead of chasing emails, searching for files, or trying to remember which chat thread had the update, Basecamp makes it easy to keep our team organized and on the same page.

The most helpful feature for us is the way projects are set up. Each project has its own space for tasks, discussions, files, and deadlines. It keeps communication clear and focused, which means fewer things fall through the cracks. I also really appreciate how simple it is to use—our team didn’t need a long learning curve to get up and running.

Basecamp has become our go-to hub for collaboration. It helps us feel connected, stay accountable, and work more efficiently without the overwhelm. It’s not just a tool—it’s like having a friendly assistant keeping everything tidy and easy to find.

**What do you dislike about Basecamp?**

If I had to pick one thing I don’t love about Basecamp, it’s that sometimes the simplicity can feel limiting. Because it’s designed to be clean and easy to use, it doesn’t have all the advanced bells and whistles that other project management tools offer. For example, if you’re someone who likes really detailed reporting or heavy customization, you might find yourself wishing for a bit more.

That said, I actually appreciate that trade-off most days—it keeps things from getting overly complicated. But every now and then, I do wish I had just a few more advanced features at my fingertips.

**What problems is Basecamp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Right now, Basecamp is helping me manage a big project that involves more than 20 clients—all of whom are set up as clients directly in Basecamp. Having everyone in one place has been a game-changer. Instead of juggling endless email threads or trying to track updates across different platforms, everything lives neatly in Basecamp.

Each client can see what’s relevant to them, and I can keep communication, tasks, and files organized without getting overwhelmed. It not only keeps me on top of deadlines and deliverables, but it also gives my clients a clear, simple way to stay informed and engaged.

Honestly, the biggest benefit has been peace of mind. With so many moving parts, it could easily feel chaotic—but Basecamp makes it feel manageable, structured, and even a little easier to breathe.

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Basecamp?**

Basecamp makes it easy to organize tasks and communicate in one convenient place.

**What do you dislike about Basecamp?**

There can be a learning curve trying to integrate the product into our business, especially if users are new.this can feel overwhelming.

**What problems is Basecamp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were able to streamline communication across our teams and various projects.

 ### 44. Simple to Implement, But Too Basic for Complex Projects

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Basecamp?**

Very simple, easy to use, and straightforward to roll out across the studio. It’s a great option for small studios that need a PM tool for managing simple projects without extra complexity.

**What do you dislike about Basecamp?**

This program feels almost too simplified for managing complex projects. I found it more challenging to set up a project that needs to flow across multiple teams, or one with multiple contingencies tied to dates and deliverables.

**What problems is Basecamp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We used basecamp as a project management tool

 ### 45. Basecamp makes the teamwokr easy!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 23, 2025

**What do you like best about Basecamp?**

Basecamp is a great tool for managing projects and communicating with both teammates and clients. I’ve been using it at my company since 2016, and over the years, they’ve added very interesting features that have made our daily work much easier. It’s a very complete and great tool.

**What do you dislike about Basecamp?**

I think one thing that could be improved is notifications. It doesn’t happen often, but there have been times when we’ve missed some of them, maybe due to caching or something similar. The same when we change your status to out or replace an image, this takes some time for the change to be reflected.

**What problems is Basecamp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Basecamp helps me keep projects organized and ensures that we are all on the same page. I don't have to search through emails or jump between different tools, everything I need is right there. It saves me time and makes working with my teammates and clients much smoother.

 ### 46. Unmatched Customization for Every Project Need

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kristin B. | Marketing and Communications Technology Manager, Real Estate, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 01, 2025

**What do you like best about Basecamp?**

The ability to customize each project to the needs to users and contributors is virtually endless and amendable as a project progresses.

**What do you dislike about Basecamp?**

Nothing, truly, at this point - I find it very intuitive and personalble.

**What problems is Basecamp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Basecamp is a great home for our projects and can be customized by project and for each contributor's needs. The ability to work both inside and outside our organization feels seamless. The mobile app is unexpectedly easy and great for quick on-the-go usage.

 ### 47. Basecamp: Simple, Direct, and Effective for Small Teams

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** diane m. | Supervisor / Manager R&D, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 04, 2025

**What do you like best about Basecamp?**

What I love most about Basecamp is how easy it is to use. Right from the start, you realize you don't have to waste time configuring a million settings. Everything is organized so clearly—tasks, messages, calendars… all in one place. I really appreciate how you can see what's going on with the team without jumping through hoops. Also, the communication part is a big win. Everyone knows what they need to do and when, and everything flows without stress

**What do you dislike about Basecamp?**

Honestly, sometimes it feels a little too basic. If you're part of a bigger team or need something with more advanced features, Basecamp might not cut it. Also, the notifications can get pretty annoying when you’ve got a lot of stuff going on. It’s not a huge deal, but if you're looking for a ton of customization or deeper integrations with other apps, you might find yourself wanting more.

**What problems is Basecamp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before Basecamp, everything was kinda all over the place. We were using a bunch of different tools for tasks, messages, and files, and it was a bit of a headache trying to keep track of it all. Basecamp solved that by bringing everything into one spot, which honestly has been a game-changer. Now, I don’t have to waste time hunting through emails or multiple apps. It’s all right there. I can see what everyone’s up to, what needs to get done, and what’s coming up. It’s saved me so much time and stress, and now I can focus way more on getting stuff done, instead of dealing with a million tools.

 ### 48. Easy-to-Use Interface, but Group Ping Lacks Edit Options

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vaishnav H. | Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 16, 2025

**What do you like best about Basecamp?**

The one thing i like the most about basecamp is it's easy to use interface

**What do you dislike about Basecamp?**

It provides the feature to ping multiple people like message in the group of people but it does not provide the feature of edit that group means we can not add any other people to that ping or can not remove any people from it.

**What problems is Basecamp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

IT solving the major collaboration problem, as before we use basecamp our organization has only few employees but as our organization grows the collaboration issues are arise and for that we had choose the basecamp for smoothly moving forward.

 ### 49. Simple, but Could Use Some Power Features for Bigger Projects

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** winter n. | Software Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 03, 2025

**What do you like best about Basecamp?**

What I love about Basecamp is how clean and straightforward it is. Everything you need is right there tasks, conversations, documents no jumping between different apps. The to-do lists are simple, but they get the job done, and I love that I can easily see what’s coming up next. It’s really great for keeping everyone on the same page without overwhelming you with unnecessary features.

**What do you dislike about Basecamp?**

What I dislike about Basecamp is that it’s too basic for larger or more complex projects. The task management system doesn’t have enough depth—no advanced prioritization, subtasks, or dependency tracking. It’s also not great with integrations, so if you’re using other tools, connecting them can be a bit of a pain. Plus, the lack of detailed reporting and performance metrics makes it harder to gauge how things are really going in the long run.

**What problems is Basecamp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Basecamp solves the problem of keeping everything in one place, making collaboration easier without the chaos of multiple tools. It’s great for staying organized with projects, tasks, and communication all in a single platform. For me, it helps streamline workflows no need to jump between emails, Slack, or task managers. Everything's clear, with fewer distractions, and I can easily keep track of what’s being done without wasting time. It’s simple, but effective, especially for smaller teams or straightforward projects.

 ### 50. Easy Project Setup with To-Dos, Pings, and Versatile Project Options
