"Smooth Self-Service Onboarding and Time-Off Requests in BambooHR"

What do you like best about BambooHR?

When I joined, all of my onboarding paperwork, e-signatures, and policy documents were already in BambooHR, so I could complete everything on my own without having to chase HR over email. Since then, it’s become my go-to place for requesting time off, checking my personal records, and looking up people in the company directory. I also believe it connects with our payroll and other internal tools, which helps keep my information in sync without needing manual updates. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about BambooHR?

There isn’t much to dislike. The app feels so comfortable to use that it doesn’t really need much attention in terms of improvements. Whenever I open it, it’s easy to navigate through the options and get the answers I’m looking for. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is BambooHR solving and how is that benefiting you?

Before BambooHR, even simple HR tasks—like checking my leave balance, updating personal details, or finding a policy document—meant emailing HR and then waiting for a reply. Now I can handle all of that myself in just a couple of minutes, whether I’m on my laptop or using the mobile app.

Time-off requests go straight to my manager for approval, and I can also see when teammates are out, which makes it much easier to plan work and manage handoffs. The company directory and org chart help me quickly track down the right person to contact, especially when I need someone in another team.

The newer AI assistant is a great addition, too. I can ask plain-language questions like “how many PTO days do I have left?” or “what’s our holiday policy?” and get an instant answer instead of digging through documents.

Overall, it probably saves me an hour or two each month and takes a lot of repetitive questions off our HR team’s plate. The system has also been reliable for me—I rarely run into downtime or errors. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
