  ### 3. Designing with assemble

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Trey H. | Sales Representative, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Assemble?**

Being able to make a 3D preview of the design allows you to estimate the cost structure, make improvements in it thus facilitating the implementation of the project, since its management is simple and allows the participation of all those involved in the project from the team to the final consumer.

**What do you dislike about Assemble?**

The interface of the program sometimes gets slow slow slowing down the work, large loads of information collapse the system, there are options to edit the design that do not always work.

**Recommendations to others considering Assemble:**

If you want to involve consumers in the design process to obtain full customer satisfaction with the result, you should use the assemble tools.

**What problems is Assemble solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It facilitates the design execution process since the final consumers will be able to have a preliminary image of the product, thus allowing them to make changes that will improve the cost and the final image of the product.

  ### 4. Autodesk's Assemble review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Keerthi S. | VDC Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 25, 2020

**What do you like best about Assemble?**

. Assemble is a 3 D based modeling software and the best thing I like about the software is it has 3D model based take off ability. It can pull off the data from elements that was fed to the elements in Revit. It is a very user friendly easy to user software. It can also be used as an alternate model viewing software. You can also extract the meta data from the

**What do you dislike about Assemble?**

While assemble is a good estimating software, it does it have a material library that we can use to fill out the items that were not modeled in revit software.

**Recommendations to others considering Assemble:**

Assemble cannot be used as a stand alone estimating software but the estimates from Assemble can be used to verify the estimates from other software that are made purely for estimating purposes

**What problems is Assemble solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With assemble, we are trring to save all the data on cloud. The estimates can be accessed at any time and any place with good internet connectivity. Also, the take off process is very easy if all elements with proper information are modeled in Revit.

  ### 5. Assemble is a great program to help with visual understanding in the estimate phase of a project.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alexandrea M. | Preconstruction Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 17, 2019

**What do you like best about Assemble?**

Like the title says, it does a great job to help visually understand what is being proposed in the design for the project. When often the drawings can get messy and unclear in a 2D view, this program helps put the building in 3D and allows you to alter the view for a clearer understanding. I love that you can create multiple views for the project that show different aspects (i.e. walls/partitions, specialties and equipment, plumbing, etc.). It is also very convenient that the 3D view can work with the 2D drawings so you can click on things in either window to see where it is located in the drawing.

**What do you dislike about Assemble?**

There is so much that this program can do, but it is hard cramming it all in one little window. There are times when I want to see the 3D view, the drawings, the schedule, AND the materials and it can get crowded at times. Maybe I need a bigger monitor but that is something that can be aggravating at times. I use the program online and there are also times when I change something and want to undo but have yet to figure it out. In addition, if the architects send over a messy file, it can be fairly inconvenient for us, the general contractors, to make sense of the drawings if they did not clarify things as intended for this program. So if the architects are willing to work with you on their revit design, then it is worth it.

**Recommendations to others considering Assemble:**

I highly recommend this program for anyone who deals with project viewing on the daily, worth it!

**What problems is Assemble solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Assemble is doing so much to benefit me and my team by helping clarify what items are what on projects and what quantities to use. It runs smoothly and is very technologically advanced.

  ### 6. Assemble - a value added product

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 18, 2020

**What do you like best about Assemble?**

As a national, General Contractor, deeply involved in BIM and Virtual Coordination and Construction, it is very useful for our team to efficiently and accurately leverage a Design Team's models on the basis of quantities and costs.

**What do you dislike about Assemble?**

Not a fault of the software, but as the saying goes.... "garbage in, garbage out." As a profession, Contractors are in a great position to encourage the Design profession to embrace the concept of Model First Always. If you model it, model it accurately. If you model it, I can quantify and price it.

**Recommendations to others considering Assemble:**

The one key piece of advice I would forward is to thoroughly vet the models you are integrating into Assemble; garbage in, garbage out. If the modeled objects do not accurately reflect the scope being evaluated, your resultant effort for quantities etc. will not be accurate.

**What problems is Assemble solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are bridging the gap within our processes for quantity and cost take-off. The efficiencies of Assemble, have allowed our Pre-Con teams the ability to more thoroughly investigate the scope of the project and in a more timely manner.

  ### 7. The Quintiscential extraction tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** John J. | Director of Technology Optimization, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2019

**What do you like best about Assemble?**

The spped and efficiency of color coding and puling quantity and property data from model elements. The superb viewer tha can function on tablet as wellas desk tops and the ability to restructure data for estimators are a plus. Th greatest value we have found in tracking versions of model changes.

**What do you dislike about Assemble?**

Sometimes the server can lockup, at least it did in the past as we loaded larger models. We think this has been improved over time as server technology on how it was supported was improved. We wish we could highlight elements in a drawing not modeled, but merelky anotated. We also wish we could look at multiple buildiong models as they relate to each other and adjust the orbit point different than what was in the native models.

**Recommendations to others considering Assemble:**

Be sure to do a quality review of your model before publishing to Assemble.

**What problems is Assemble solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Extractions and change deviation for model comparisons suring hard bid sitautions as well as showingt change deviation and explaining what just changed to an owner. We have alos used it for sucessfull value engineering efforts.

  ### 8. Easy to use BIM tool for tech-savy users and non-techies alike, and a killer marketing tool.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Morgan G. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 25, 2020

**What do you like best about Assemble?**

Ease of use, getting up and running and sharing with users is a breaze. Hiding elements to focus in on desired areas is simple (pending how well the model is built...) - and an excellent marketing tool to showcase 3D design and intent.

**What do you dislike about Assemble?**

Nothing on the Assemble side, limitations are almost always based on how well built the model itself is and who built it.

**Recommendations to others considering Assemble:**

Watch some Assemble webinars or ask for a demonstration.

**What problems is Assemble solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Visual aids, cross checking quantities, marketing tool.

  ### 9. The best tool we've seen thus far

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** CJ B. | Construction Technology Program Manager, Construction, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 23, 2019

**What do you like best about Assemble?**

The ability to access our data beyond the authoring tool has been a huge breakthrough. Navisworks contains the data, but it is not easily accessible or exportable. Assemble has been able to accomplish both of those feats with a great web-based viewer.

**What do you dislike about Assemble?**

The additional publishing requirement is a downside. I'm hopeful that in the future, any models that are cloud hosted can be automatically published to assemble without using the local machines resources. Publish times can sometimes be in the 3-4 hour range (rendering your computer unavailable for other CAD work).

**Recommendations to others considering Assemble:**

If you are a company that is looking to gain access to your model data, then assemble could be the tool for you. If you have access to 3D models during bid time, then Assemble could streamline your estimating process.

**What problems is Assemble solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Progress tracking has been the biggest challenge assemble has enabled us to solve. We take that data and compare it to our budgets to get more accurate earned value tracking metrics.

**Official Response from Samira Tily:**

> Hi CJ,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback as well as writing such a great review. We really appreciate your insight and value your feedback to make our solutions better.

  ### 10. QTO

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 06, 2020

**What do you like best about Assemble?**

Linking between Revit to get updates in the models as the work is progressing, and Power BI to track quantities and communicate the change with team members.

**What do you dislike about Assemble?**

When you hide objects you can't go back and unhide the ones you prefer.

**Recommendations to others considering Assemble:**

I would recommend this product to be widely used as it speeds up the time and works live and simultaneously with the construction ongoing.

**What problems is Assemble solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Discrepancies in quantities between construction team and design team.
