Ashby's user experience is solid overall! We love that it's all-in-one, so we replaced separate tools for our ATS, sourcing, scheduling, and reporting and cut costs instead of adding more point solutions. We also love how easy it is to connect Ashby to our project management tool through its MCP.
The admin settings are easy to use while still being more flexible than other ATSs. Ashby has an enterprise-level foundation for security, reporting, and building repeatable processes. It seems like they've thought about everything!
Reporting is also a massive win, since we can report on just about anything in the hiring process.
I also appreciate how fast the company moves. They consistently ship new features and keep pace as the market evolves.
Lastly, working with the Ashby team has been amazing! Our CSM is hands down the best we've had across any of our tools. He knows our setup inside and out, advocates for our feedback with the product team, and helps us find practical workarounds when we hit a limitation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Permissions and approval logic are two areas where I’d love to see more flexibility.
In our setup, giving someone access to create jobs within a department also required broader access to historical jobs or candidate feedback, which creates extra admin work to protect sensitive information. We’d prefer separate options to grant access to current, future, or historical jobs in bulk instead of bundling them together. Someone should be able to create new jobs in a department/location without requiring access to historical jobs in that department/location. More granular controls would help us give people the access they need without exposing unrelated hiring data.
For approval routes, we'd love parallel approvals to offer the same flexibility as sequential approvals in Ashby. Ideally, we could send requests to multiple approver groups at once, list several eligible approvers in each group, and require only one approval per group. Today we manually swap in backups when someone is out, which adds admin work and can delay offers.
There are a few small things like this that could be improved, but overall Ashby's product has evolved quickly, and they've already addressed other gaps we've flagged. We're confident these will get there too. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
