**What do you like best about Asana?**

The ability to set flexibly recurring tasks, to set reminders for further out future dates, to keep track of delegated tasks, to add subtasks to note when action has been taken, even if the original item isn't yet done. I like being able to add tasks by email (though I wish there was a way to set a deadline via email). Access via browser or mobile device. Comparative easy for learning basic functionality for new users. Views for more visual people vs. more list or data-oriented users.

**What do you dislike about Asana?**

As you have added more functionality, it's become harder, more burdensome, to try to figure out how to best use Asana for my purpose. Id like more bite-sized training or examples, I'd like data sets I could play with to see if those formats would work with my data. I'd like a better sense of how to modify my data/format if I get started and then find it's not in the optimal format. As mentioned, I'd like tasks created from an email to have an owner assignment and due date (sending the task to myself creates another email). We're trying to test out setting up templates for projects that repeat themselves (e.g., all the steps before, during, and after hosting a webinar)... I'm not sure we've figured out the best ways to do this. I wonder about how we'll capture learnings from actual use to apply them back to our template and to activities based on the templates. I'm concerned that we'll create a monster... or require someone to be the manager of all the tasks and activities... rather than having each team member be reasonably self-sufficient.

**What problems is Asana solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Handoffs and complexity of how many people are contributing to a project are killing us! Having someone see that a task is assigned to another team member... that both see/know that task is being held. People forgetting to ask for inputs in a timely manner, or asking without providing all the necessary details. We are early in the process of trying to solve this. We're at the stage where lack of systems is so burdensome that it's hard to build the systems.

**What do you like best about Asana?**

I use it daily to build operations process for my organization.  Performance is excellent for pricing and the AI intelligence seems to function for my needs at a top level.  I have integrated it with other tools in my workspace without any issue. I did not utilize onboarding or support as I was trained internally. The day to day utilization has been extremely helpful for me.  If the AI doesn't understand or gets it wrong, I simply adjust my framing and we are back on track.  Day to day work on the goals section is not ideal.  We have a lot of trouble with updating and organizing the goals sections.  I utilize this as our primary onboarding tool.  We set up an onboarding board for all new EE and as HRBP, it helps keep the onboarding process repeatable, trackable and easy to follow.

**What do you dislike about Asana?**

I wish the rollups were included in base and I also would like to see the Goals section easier to organize and manipulate.  We revisit this section weekly. I wish there were ways we could track weekly updates/reviews to the goals.

**What problems is Asana solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Organizing operations and building HR portals.  We also have been utilizing for policy development headquarters and leadership business development.

Asana is very intuitive, and it makes it easy to manage tasks, timelines, and dependencies across teams. The different views—list, board, and timeline—add flexibility depending on how people prefer to work, while also providing clear visibility into ownership and progress. I find it especially helpful for keeping complex projects organised, aligned, and on track.

**What do you dislike about Asana?**

Some advanced features—especially reporting and automation—are only available on the higher pricing tiers. On larger or more complex projects, the setup can start to feel busy if it isn’t well structured, and notifications can quickly become overwhelming if teams aren’t disciplined about task updates and comments.

**What do you like best about Asana?**

It’s an all-in-one task management and calendar tool. It lets me delegate tasks to my team while also keeping track of performance, staying on top of what’s being done, and using the calendar as a way to plan our content. Iy also integrates with your Google calendar which I absolutely love!

**What do you dislike about Asana?**

I don't like that the pricing is per seat/user rather than an all-in cost. I also believe the onboarding process can be a bit more in-depth.

**What problems is Asana solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's allowing me to keep track of all of the tasks required across all of our clients and our team to avoid things falling through the cracks. The AI integration with Google allows us to have these tasks converted into Google calendar events for our team to make it even more seamless. The overall performance and UI/UX makeup of Asana is incredible allowing us to use it daily to add tasks, keep track and handle heavy workloads.

**What do you like best about Asana?**

Running a small business means wearing every hat imaginable, and Asana helps make that manageable. It’s intuitive and cuts down the mental overhead that comes with project management. The dependent task feature—especially when it’s tied to timelines or milestones—has been a real game-changer for me in staying on track.

**What do you dislike about Asana?**

The only thing that really bugs me about Asana is having to manually collapse tasks all the time. I’ll hover over a task, it opens automatically, and then I have to go back and close it myself. It’s not a deal breaker by any means, but it’s pretty annoying and adds unnecessary friction to what would otherwise be a seamless UX.

**What problems is Asana solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Each client we work with has a set of roughly 40–50 tasks tied to their portfolio, and being able to instantly create a timeline-dependent project through templates has been an absolute game changer.

I also handle social media, marketing, client relations, and business operations, so having everything in one place—and being able to keep track of it all—has been really remarkable.

**What do you like best about Asana?**

I like using Asana because it makes it easier to manage tasks and add collaborators. It facilitates task management in a more organized way and allows me to create sub-tasks, which help my manager understand the complexity of some tasks. I appreciate the fact that Asana also integrates with email, making it easier to create tasks without having to copy and paste. Furthermore, the integration with artificial intelligence, like the cloud, helps a lot. I appreciate the ability to create projects and share them with other teams. It helps me reduce the time spent creating tasks thanks to the integration with Outlook, allowing me to create tasks directly on Asana. The integration with artificial intelligence also makes it easier for me to summarize directly what I've done on Asana without having to worry too much about what to put in the description or comment. I find that the initial setup of Asana was quite fast and without issues.

**What do you dislike about Asana?**

At the moment, I find it more useful to use the web version of ASANA, because the app often crashes and I am forced to close it. Furthermore, I find it limiting that I cannot add filters beyond those already present by default. For example, I cannot filter tasks based on collaborators.

**What problems is Asana solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Asana to manage tasks in a more organized way, creating subtasks to help my manager understand the complexity. The integration with email and artificial intelligence reduces the time for task creation and improves organization.

**What do you like best about Asana?**

I like that Asana can be used very simply or in very sophisticated ways, making it adaptable to different needs. The different views are valuable because they allow me to look at project work from various angles, which helps facilitate different conversations with the appropriate presentation of information. I find rules to be very powerful and useful, although they require careful use. Additionally, the initial setup of Asana was very easy.

**What do you dislike about Asana?**

For someone doing a lot of project scheduling, the Gantt view is essential, and it is not as convenient to use as Microsoft Project used to be. In particular, dependencies and start/due dates need to work more smoothly together. Moving a task forward in time does move its successors forward (if configured), but moving backwards leaves successors in place, and creates a gap that needs to be closed by manual movement. On a large project schedule, that is a hassle.

**What problems is Asana solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Asana for reporting to the executive team and planning work, scheduling tasks, and monitoring progress, which alleviates a big headache.

**What do you like best about Asana?**

I like using Asana for task and project management as well as collaboration with multiple departments on daily and project-based work. I appreciate the organizational tools and the ability to look back at history for decision-making as well as the prioritization of tasks and project collaboration. One of the best features is the rules in projects, which save me time. Using Claude with Asana is incredibly powerful, as it can post comments, review tasks, create projects, subtasks, and main tasks, which speeds up my time tremendously.

**What do you dislike about Asana?**

I'm having a problem with emailing, forwarding, and firewall issues. We try to automatically forward emails from Outlook to Asana, and Asana's firewall blocks it.

**What problems is Asana solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Asana for task and project management, organizing and prioritizing tasks. It enables collaboration across departments and provides historical decision-making insights. Using rules and Claude with Asana speeds up our process tremendously.

When there are many projects, I feel it looks disorganized. It would be good if the structure were like a DRIVE where the main folder names appear in the left bar. Because in the left bar, all the projects appear, and sometimes there are so many that you lose track.

Sometimes with so many projects, one misses deadlines. I don't know if reminders could arrive on the phone or something else. Because sometimes with so much going on, one forgets to check.

It’s a really useful product for collaboration. We’re using it across multiple use cases and haven’t run into any issues so far. It’s user friendly and easy to pick up, there are also plenty of additional resources available to help you get up to speed if you run into difficulties. I have it connected with claude and it is really helpful to push tasks to asana without context switching or changing apps.

It is great for our small marketing team to stay on top of projects. The board view makes it easy to see all of the tasks in one view. 

I was able to draft code in Claude to create a recurring list of tasks, which I then imported into Asana to build out a series of projects in minutes.

The desktop app is seamless and updates in real time. 

It is affordable for small businesses and more than pays for itself in time saved.

I have not had to use Support because it is so intuitive.

**What do you dislike about Asana?**

To be honest, I haven't found a downside to Asana. It works nicely within our needs and keeps us on task.

**What problems is Asana solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With multiple projects and deadlines, Asana helps our team of two stay on task. It helps us stay informed on where projects are in the system and creates an easy review and approval process.

**What do you like best about Asana?**

The fact that my entire team is able to work together even when working remotely. This means that everyone can be on the same page about projects. I like the automations as well, and the user experience is very easy. They have many training courses online as well. I also like that it integrates with many of the tools we use. The fact that everything happens instantly is amazing as well. The performance is great. People are kept up to date on items in real time. The AI tools are also great because it helps streamline a lot of the work. This has definitely helped our team stay on track, boosting product completion and impacting our overall ROI.

There is a limit to how many AI items you can run, but other than that, it's great!

Asana is good for keeping tasks, timelines, and owner information well-structured and organized in a single place. The board, list, and timeline views are good for managing different types of work based on the team’s needs. This helps in tracking and keeping everyone aware of what needs to be done and by whom, which is helpful in avoiding confusion during task execution.

The reporting feature is not so strong for basic plans and needs to be upgraded to a high-tier plan for better reporting capabilities. The automation capabilities are not very strong compared to other tools. The tool also gets messy if not well-organized due to a high number of tasks and lack of proper tagging and organization of workspaces.

**What do you like best about Asana?**

One newer thing I like about Asana is how much more streamlined it feels for managing day-to-day work across a team. It’s become even better at giving visibility into priorities, ownership, and timelines without making the workflow feel too heavy. I especially like how easy it is to move between different views depending on what I need, whether that’s a list, board, or timeline.

I also appreciate the improvements around automation and project organization, since they help cut down on repetitive admin work and make it easier to keep processes consistent. Overall, I like that Asana continues to make collaboration, accountability, and visibility feel more intuitive.

**What do you dislike about Asana?**

One thing Asana could still improve is making the platform feel less cluttered when you’re managing a lot of projects at once. Asana has a lot of powerful features, but sometimes that also means important tasks or updates can get buried. I’d also love to see even better reporting and dashboard customization so it’s easier to get a quick high-level view without having to build everything manually.

Another area for improvement would be making automations and advanced features feel a little more accessible to everyday users, especially for smaller teams that want efficiency without a lot of setup.

I think even better documentation and training resources on things like teams would be helpful. One specific example is on how our organization should use teams - and how that affects notifications.

I love the projects board where I can see a list of all the tasks I'm working on even if they are not assigned to me. It's very helpful when collaborating with co-workers and making sure you have eyes on all tasks even if they're not in your inbox or under my tasks.

It was a big adjustment at first when I started my job that used this platform as the main project management software. There were a lot of pre-existing automations, projects, categories within projects, etc. that were already configured and I had to get up to speed with organizing everything.

Managing my projects and tasks, keeping on track with deadlines, being more in the loop of other tasks going on with various other projects in other departments that may be relevant to me.

I like being able to keep track of multiple projects at one time with Asana. It's helpful to track the time it takes to complete each task, preventing any projects from falling through the cracks. Recently, I’ve been making the most of Asana’s upgraded AI Teammates. Now I am able to pass on boring stuff—like risk reports or multilingual searches—to the AI while only focusing on the parts of web dev and marketing I truly enjoy. It’s a real time-saver.

The Timesheets & Budgets add-on? Honestly, it’s made tracking client hours and expenses way less of a headache. I don’t need to juggle a bunch of spreadsheets anymore, which feels like a small miracle.

And those new Role-Based Access Control updates? They’re a big step up for admin security, especially while I’m experimenting with team setups for things like WhatsApp API and SaaS projects. It feels like everything just clicks into place now.

**What do you dislike about Asana?**

Asana really needs to allow users assign a task to more than one person. Right now, you’re stuck picking just one, which slows things down when teams are working together—especially on web development or marketing projects. People end up creating subtasks or other workarounds, which just adds clutter.

Customer support could use a serious upgrade, too. Users often complain about slow replies, chatbots that don’t actually help, and getting the runaround with refunds. When you hit a snag with something like the WhatsApp API integration, you want real help, not more headaches.

It would also help if Asana had built-in time tracking and didn’t lag when you switch between views. Those fixes would make everyday work a lot smoother.

With Asana's AI, it helps break down big tasks into smaller achieveable ones making it much easier to progress.

Intergrations are key to our scaling business, and right now the Google Workspace intergration can be a little wonky. Attaching emails or refering them in tasks is key to anyone who doesnt have the whole company in Asana, or people less familliar with task managers and still email requests. I think with another look at the intergration, and with Asana AI to help flesh them out, would be super helpful!

While I generally enjoy working with Asana, one challenge I’ve noticed appears when projects grow significantly during execution. In technology projects, it’s quite common for scope and requirements to evolve, and when the number of tasks and subtasks increases a lot, it can become harder to quickly review dependencies and keep everything aligned with the original objectives that were defined at the beginning of the project.
Another aspect that sometimes makes things a bit more difficult is navigating very large project boards. When there are many tasks, sections, and conversations happening at the same time, finding specific information or understanding the overall structure can take more time than expected. It’s manageable, but it does require discipline from the team to maintain a clear structure and keep tasks updated consistently.
Asana offers many features, there are moments when managing complex dependencies or long-term planning across multiple projects could be more intuitive. In large programs where several initiatives are interconnected, it can take additional effort to visualize the full picture and ensure everything remains aligned. Even so, these challenges are manageable, and with good project organization, Asana still provides strong support for day-to-day project management.

It is "super useful" for software development projects, as well as for activities that require the participation of several collaborators and, in general, any task that needs continuous monitoring. We have been able to track development sprints with relative ease as we can assign tasks to those responsible for updating the progress of their activities.

One thing I really like about Asana is how it keeps everything organized in one place. The timeline view and task dependencies make it much easier to understand how projects are progressing and what needs attention next. I also appreciate the automation features that reduce repetitive work, like automatically assigning tasks or setting due dates. Overall, Asana helps teams stay aligned and saves time that would otherwise be spent in meetings or tracking updates manually.

**What do you dislike about Asana?**

One area where Asana could improve is pricing, as the monthly cost can be higher compared to some other project management tools. It would also be helpful if tasks could be assigned to multiple team members at the same time. In many projects, the same task often involves more than one person, so allowing multiple assignees would make collaboration easier and more flexible.

I absolutely love their UX. Everything is so clean and smooth, easy to use and learn. It has many integrations with our tech stack so I could easily sync things with Google and Slack. I never had any issues with the platform performance or the support team, and their assistant chat agent is great for questions and doubts. I'ev used many of their AI features as well, specially for Project summaries, updates, goals, suggested workflows.. and I think it's just SUBLIME

**What do you dislike about Asana?**

The only downside it's that it's somehow more expensive than some of it's competitors, so my company decided to keep JIRA for project tracking rather than Asana - Believe me.. I cried when this happened!

**What do you like best about Asana?**

I've really appreciated the upgrade in Asana that allowed us to use portfolios. It's made us more organized and ensures that things are in the right places. We've also been using the dual homing feature a lot, which has been incredibly useful for cross-functional work between teams. And the forms! We've been using the forms with the option to have multiple branches off of forms when asking certain questions, which has been really useful. Specifically for portfolios, they're great for organizing and maintaining all account management tasks across different product levels.

**What do you dislike about Asana?**

I think it would be useful if there was a better AI version of asking questions within Asana that gives you actionable answers instead of attaching to an article or something. We use HubSpot a lot, and HubSpot has a great AI tool that if you ask it a question, it tells you exactly how to do the thing you're trying to do. And that's become really useful in HubSpot. And I think Asana could use that. One thing I would say is that with Asana forms, I haven't figured out a way to be able to add photos and then have those photos become a part of the task. Maybe that's user error, but the Jotform has been much easier, and the presentation of the form if we're using it externally, has been better for Jotform. Also, most of our team is not very well versed in Asana. I've taken on the role of learning Asana as much as I can, and that's been a lot of trial and error. It is a bit of a rough start, and there's definitely different levels and learning gaps currently.

I use Asana to ensure my team reaches out to accounts correctly and within time frames. It helps us cross-functionally coordinate marketing and operations, ensuring everyone is on the same page for onboarding new employees.

Over time Asana has continued to improve its workflow and collaboration features. I especially like how easy it is to organize tasks, assign responsibilities, and track project progress in one place. The timeline and board views help our team understand priorities clearly.

Another thing I appreciate is the integration support with other tools we use for communication and documentation. It helps keep our work organized without switching between too many platforms. Overall, it has made managing projects and communicating with clients much smoother.

One area that could be improved is the search and task discovery experience when working with very large projects. Sometimes it takes extra time to locate older tasks or discussions.

What I value most about Asana is its visual clarity and its relentless focus on accountability. It's the ultimate tool for knowing exactly who is doing what and by when, without any friction.

UI/UX and Project Views: Its interface is clean, intuitive, and very smooth. I love being able to instantly switch between List view, Kanban board, or Timeline (Gantt). The drag-and-drop feature to adjust task dependencies on the timeline is a visual marvel that saves hours of planning.

Workload Management: It's one of its best features. It allows you to see in real-time each team member's capacity to balance tasks, avoiding burnout and optimizing resources in a very visual way.

Asana Intelligence (AI): The AI features add a lot of value. It generates automatic summaries of project status, identifies bottlenecks before they occur, and drafts professional status updates in seconds based on the team's progress.

Price and Payment Plans (Price / ROI): The pricing structure is very rigid. Advanced plans have a fairly high cost per user for medium-sized teams. Additionally, they force you to pay for seat blocks instead of paying exactly for the number of users you have, which unnecessarily increases the budget.

Limited Documentation (UI/UX): Asana is excellent for managing tasks, but it is terrible for creating long documents or team wikis. The task description has a very basic rich text editor, which forces you to rely on external tools (like Google Docs or Notion) for in-depth documentation.

Single Task Assignment: A task can only be assigned to one person. Although I understand that philosophies like Project Management seek a single responsible party, in real life many tasks are collaborative, and having to create identical subtasks for each team member generates duplication and visual noise.

Performance: agile and fast

Overwhelming Alerts and Notifications: If you don't configure notifications with a magnifying glass from day one, Asana's inbox and your email get flooded with alerts for every small change, comment, or like, making the system chaotic and easy to ignore.

Unexpected Frustration: The free version (Basic) has become extremely limited over time, cutting key features like advanced boards or task dependencies, which forces small businesses to pay before they are ready.

I love how Asana helps me keep everything organized and in control. I can easily see what my next task is, manage it, set priorities, and assign subtasks to team members. It makes me more proactive in my work by having everything in one place, allowing me to track everything I do throughout the day. Asana is practical, useful, and offers more information to better understand issues and tasks. The initial setup was really good, only taking about a week to train. I use Asana with Google and Slack, and it fits nicely into my workflow.

I don’t think there is anything. Maybe being able to connect an email as part of the notes of the task, not to create a task from an email but to add the email on a task
