I'm doing a master's degree and working part-time, so my thesis was progressing in bits and pieces, and I always felt lost. I set up a board in Asana with a column for each stage: to write, with my advisor, to correct, and done, and each chapter is a card. When my advisor sends me comments, I paste them on the chapter card and turn them into subtasks, so I don't have to remember what he told me in the last meeting. Last week I saw that I had three chapters stuck in 'to correct' and understood why I felt overwhelmed: it wasn't that I wasn't making progress, it was that I wasn't closing anything. At first, I put too many columns and color labels, and I spent more time organizing the board than writing the thesis. I had to delete half and leave only what I really used. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
