I have a small custom cake business and I used to write down orders in a notebook, delivery date, flavor, and if it had any special decoration. The problem was that sometimes I forgot to check the notebook on the day I needed to start baking something, and I ended up working at night to not let a client down. Now each order is a task with subtasks for each stage, baking, filling, decorating, and each with its own date. Last week I saw in advance that I had two big cakes on the same day and was able to organize my hours better instead of realizing it the night before. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
At first, I struggled to get used to creating a new task every time an order came in, it felt like an extra step compared to just quickly writing it down in the notebook, so some orders went unrecorded the first two weeks until I got into the habit. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
