## Applied Epic Reviews
  ### 1. Centralized Client Data

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jon R. | Agency Resource Specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2022

**What do you like best about Applied Epic?**

I find Applied Epic tremendously useful as a central hub for all client and policy data, effectively building a single unified client record. I appreciate its capability to eliminate reliance on paper documents by keeping a digital copy of all activities, which streamlines our operations. I like that Applied Epic truly functions as a one-stop shop for insurance agencies, offering an extensive product lineup under one roof. I also value that it is always adding or updating features, often based on user feedback, which helps keep the platform up-to-date and responsive to our needs.

**What do you dislike about Applied Epic?**

Some updates seem to be pushed out in haste before they are fully vetted and ready for agent use. Sometimes, it feels as though we are the unwitting beta testers of new products.

**What problems is Applied Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Applied Epic as a central hub, centralizing client and policy data, creating a unified client record, and reducing reliance on paper documents.

  ### 2. My Epic journey

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Louise C. | Agent, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 16, 2021

**What do you like best about Applied Epic?**

I still love that we don't need a separate application for storing files. I also like that you can view other employee's activities if you are asked to help out, no extra permissions needed. It's easy for management to update / add codes as needed and if you need help, Epic is very responsive.

**What do you dislike about Applied Epic?**

I wish they would quit changing things, and by that, I mean moving settings around. I hate getting used to finding a setting in one place, then they move it and I have to get used to it all over again. Also, when management does change / add / delete a code, I wish we would get a notice of what has been changed, because sometimes management forgets to tell us and we find out when we can't find the old code!

**What problems is Applied Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's nice to email a client from Epic and have that email automatically documented in an activity. This feature is a time saver and makes better use of my time rather than attaching an email from my Outlook.
The search-by-code feature is a time saver when looking for specific activities you don't want to miss. I also like the sorting feature. I use this when I am searching for certian activities that are more time sensitive, like an activity about a payment.

  ### 3. Frustrating User Experience with Applied Epic - MODERNIZED SCREENS

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 26, 2026

**What do you like best about Applied Epic?**

I enjoy the format and ease of access of the Home page in Applied Epic. But if that will be changing soon to the new design format, then this is no longer accurate.

**What do you dislike about Applied Epic?**

The newly “modernized” screen designs are terrible and have clearly not been tested well. They have an extreme lag that slows down work productivity. They also have glitches that cause workflows to not work properly, such as Remarks not saving. These things need to be tested extensively before rolling out changes. The newly designed screens are a major downgrade.

**What problems is Applied Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Applied Epic's updated screen designs have a lag, slowing productivity and causing glitches that disrupt workflows.

**Official Response from Kelly Powell:**

> Thank you for sharing your concerns about the modernized screens in Applied Epic. We are aware of the issues you've described and are actively working to resolve them. Your feedback helps us identify areas for improvement!

  ### 4. Applied Mobile: Easy to Use and Works Great

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

Applied Mobile and how easy it is to use

**What do you dislike about Applied Epic?**

No complaints so far. It’s easy to use so far

**What problems is Applied Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Working remotely. It’s easy for me to meet with clients and have access to all their files.

  ### 5. Effortless Setup, User-Friendly Experience with Applied Epic

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mason .

**Reviewed Date:** June 19, 2026

**What do you like best about Applied Epic?**

I really love how easy Applied Epic was to set up and integrate into my business. It makes everything a lot easier and is very easy to use. It just makes my day-to-day life easier with managing things that I do and customers.

**What do you dislike about Applied Epic?**

Maybe the requirements.

**What problems is Applied Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Applied Epic makes my day-to-day life easier by managing activities and customers. It is very easy to use.

  ### 6. Applied Epic is Agency Management at its best

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kalyn M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 11, 2023

**What do you like best about Applied Epic?**

The way the technology continues to evolve is truly impressive. Their investment in AI has elevated the platform to a whole new level. We can now integrate nearly all of our Office 365 applications and Adobe tools without any issues. Epic has significantly reduced the amount of routine work for our account managers, enabling us to serve our clients more quickly and with greater insight. I couldn't imagine a better system—one that makes adapting to change feel both natural and effortless. We also receive great customer support. Each of the features and new additions come with great success teams that make implementation less scary.

**What do you dislike about Applied Epic?**

While the price may seem a bit intimidating at first, the amount of time saved in other aspects really makes it worthwhile.

**What problems is Applied Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We can easily view all of our clients' accounts on a single screen. As an independent agency, our clients may have policies with multiple carriers, but we can access everything through just one account. The platform is addressing issues I wasn't even aware of before. With the new Epic Bridge, Epic and Outlook are now closely integrated, so there's no need to constantly switch between systems to handle daily documentation. The new Applied Book Builder will also help us save hours by eliminating manual data entry.

  ### 7. Applied Epic has made my job easier

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jessica B. | Account Manager Supervisor, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 08, 2022

**What do you like best about Applied Epic?**

Applied Epic has made our workflows more efficient and they continually are improving it to add more features to help with efficiency. We were on Applied TAM before so I've only ever used Applied products but there are functions that would take me an hour plus in TAM that I can get done in 20-30 minutes in Epic. I also like how customizable it is with setting up which system events trigger activities and which do not.

**What do you dislike about Applied Epic?**

Some of the steps aren't consistent. For example: sumbitting a change request on a package policy requires that you highlight each line you don't want to submit and click a radio button that changes it to "not submitted," yet in Update Stage to Submitted, you can just uncheck boxes on the lines you don't want to submit and finish out.

**What problems is Applied Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Applied Epic has provided solutions for the commercial lines renewal process with the implementation of Indio. I can get supplements back from customers in minutes where it used to take weeks at times befoe. The Outlook Add In makes it so much easier to email Epic attachments to a customer and attach your emails into Epic. Epic also makes it easy to track everything that happens on an account and find the data.

  ### 8. Hands down best AMS

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Whitney O. | Vice president, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 07, 2025

**What do you like best about Applied Epic?**

Applied Epic is, in my opinion, one of the best insurance management systems available today. The platform is incredibly user-friendly, making day-to-day tasks smoother and more efficient for both staff and customer service teams.

One of the standout features is the excellent support provided. The staff and customer service representatives are always responsive, helpful, and quick to troubleshoot any technical issues that arise. It's clear that there's a dedicated team continuously working behind the scenes to improve the system, consistently incorporating the latest and most effective technology and they actually understand our industry.

Overall, Applied Epic delivers a top-tier experience and sets a high standard in insurance management systems!

**What do you dislike about Applied Epic?**

Not necessarily a dislike - would love to see the ability to upload an excel in the utility area to allow users to more quickly run workload reassignments.

**What problems is Applied Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

There are so many positive aspects that it's hard to list them all. Epic truly understands the industry and consistently develops solutions that help streamline processes and procedures, making everything more efficient.

  ### 9. Applied Epic helped us create consistency in our work flows with ability to audit our staff.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Deb W. | Office Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 18, 2020

**What do you like best about Applied Epic?**

I love the accounting features including the default/recurring entries. The Serivce Summary Rows also tell a story of the poilicy from effective to expiration date which saves so much time vs looking at activiites to try and figure out what is going on with the policy. The filter and search features in attachments is also a huge time saver. SMS texting integration has been huge for us and being able to store the messages between our staff and the client for E&O protection. Real time works great with most all of our companies. I have automated alot of our processes that used to be done manually, for example Ivans download and expiration reports. The renewal manager has been very helpful to our commercial lines staff when marketing accounts to various brokers and companies. Dashboards make it very easy to plan your day and see exactly how the staffs workload is for a particular period of time. The built in sales management using opportunites has allowed us to track a quote from start to the sale. This gives a great look at where our new business is coming from and why we are not

**What do you dislike about Applied Epic?**

It would also be great if you could create folders in reports to organize your reports.

**Recommendations to others considering Applied Epic:**

Clean up your database before you try to convert to EPIC.

**What problems is Applied Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Commission import is extremely easy and has saved us many man hours for the companies that do not download. The recurring and default entries have also been a huge time saver for accounting. We are now able to get a true retention on our book of business and are able to see what our book was at any period of time.

  ### 10. Growth supportive

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Laura R. | Agency Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 05, 2025

**What do you like best about Applied Epic?**

Epic has helped our agency grow in that the systems in place are very replicable across locations and easy to train. new inexperienced ataff are onboarded much more quickly than ever before. Reporting functions are phenomenal, and applied support is always available when we have questions. I also appreciate the integrations with other products, like raters, CRMs, phone systems and other similar InsureTech products. Epic's marketing submissions have been such a help in organizing our commercial and agriculture accounts, making it simple to organize and track individual carriers or LOBs while also reducing duplicate entry.

**What do you dislike about Applied Epic?**

My #1 gripe is the inability to search notes on Activities. You can only search the title of the activity.
Also - It is a very “clicky” system, and some process feel inefficient for those with experience. There are a lot of steps to perform simple changes. It can feel frustrating and stifling for those wanting to just "get it done", resulting in incomplete transactions within Epic. This is specific to our Producers who are not detail oriented people like our Servicers, but still leads to incomplete or missing data.

**What problems is Applied Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Fast onboarding and easy to find analytics help us to train new and coach existing staff, identifying errors and incorrect procedures quickly and allowing us to address them before they get out of control or habitual.
