**What do you like best about Appcues?**

I like the ease of use and versatility of Appcues. The integration with Mixpanel allows for quick targeting of users. Additionally, the in-app onboarding is a great tool for explaining the product's functionality to customers. I also find the in-app surveys useful, as they are contextual to the product area the customer is using.

**What do you dislike about Appcues?**

The text editor sometimes behaves unexpectedly. It's hard to understand why I can't anchor an element to a graphical interface. It's complicated to have an overview of what is online, where, and for how long when there are many flows and pins.

**What problems is Appcues solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Appcues to quickly target users thanks to the integration with Mixpanel, explain the product to customers through in-app onboarding, and conduct contextual surveys related to product usage.

**What do you like best about Appcues?**

I love how Appcues efficiently supports building onboardings, walkthroughs, and surveys while also tracking events. Its intuitiveness is a significant advantage, making it easy to use, which enhances our ability to onboard users quickly and gather their feedback efficiently. The flexibility of Appcues stands out because it allows me to cater to various product requests and create different flows and surveys, adapting them seamlessly to different topics and pages as needed. I appreciate that the initial setup of Appcues was very convenient and straightforward, and having the opportunity to review the setup with the Appcues team further added to the ease of adoption. Overall, I find Appcues to be exceptionally valuable, especially after comparing it with other products like Gainsight, and I can confidently recommend it to friends and colleagues.

**What do you dislike about Appcues?**

I would like to receive notifications when my Appcues flows encounter issues. Currently, there is no automated alert system to inform me if something breaks during a flow. An email notification system that specifies which flow and at what stage the error occurs would be beneficial.

I use Appcues to efficiently onboard users, gather their feedback, and track events. Its flexibility allows me to create diverse flows and surveys tailored to different topics, while its integration capabilities enhance our processes.

**What do you like best about Appcues?**

The Customer Support team is absolutely the best thing about Appcues. They always take you seriously, and escalate to the Tech Support team when needed, to give you the best possible solution. They also work based off of user feedback, so everything you input, they take into consideration as a future improvement. There's a lot of possibilities with the features they offer, I really like their product offering as it's in-product and out-of-product, with the same user base. So it's easy to keep an overview what you're sending to whom, and what they've already received. I use Appcues weekly, if not daily (depends on projects).

**What do you dislike about Appcues?**

Their CS-team is mostly US-based, which sometimes makes it difficult if you're having a pressing issue but they are unavailable during (most of) your working hours, being based in the EU. Localisation is also not available in all features, or the way to use it can be a bit more tedious.

**What problems is Appcues solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're using Appcues to engage with our users within our product(s). Tell them about new features, onboard new users, and re-engage existing users. Among others.

It is hard to know what level of customization is viable from the outset, and it takes some time to set up your own personal cues/tracking beyond the OOTB.

I really like how user-friendly the build interface is in Appcues. The flows are especially valuable because they fulfill a large number of product and marketing needs, while still being really easy to set up. It's a powerful tool that we're excited to continue to explore.

We have several different teams using Appcues, so it would be great if we could standardize what back-end settings users configure to help prevent errors.

Appcues enhances customer communications through in-app popups, boosts product adoption, reduces support tickets by providing in-platform support, and supports marketing efforts. Banners.  Less obtrusive.  Once installed fairly easy to use.

**What do you dislike about Appcues?**

The implementation REQUIRED us to hire JS Developers.  It was lengthy and confusing to set up.  We felt we had no help from Appcues because you expressed that you don't have a way to know of proper placement for the code, etc.  I offered to create you an acct but it became clear that implementation was more like buying the car and engine seperately.

**What problems is Appcues solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have double fields somehow like "company" and "Company" that need merged.  Same for "role" and "Role".  We are NOT developers.  We didn't invest to become developers.  We already have jobs as Admins and Support.  Logic strings are not so easy.  For example, you use matches RegEx but the way you use it is different than the standard use of a wildcard.

**What do you like best about Appcues?**

The experience got improved a lot, previously when we access some pages, it may sometime to load, but now the entire platform is loading much faster, no matter how big data we are fetching on the page. Also the localization feature helps us a lot to show messages, banners at the right time.

Appcues still not into AI yet, as all the products are now focusing AI features, appcues may need to work on it make the work more easier.

We are using Appcues for Onboarding our new users with the Onboarding flows, and checklists. We also use checklists frequently for newly shipped updates onto our platform. Sometimes, we do ask our users for feedbacks with the help of appcues.

**What do you like best about Appcues?**

Appcues has made it really easy for our Product Marketing team to build onboarding flows and in-app messages without needing developer support. The interface is quite simple and intuitive, and anytime I had questions, their support team was quick to help. Overall, it’s a great tool if you're looking to help users reach value faster.

**What do you dislike about Appcues?**

A couple of things I’d love to see improved: right now, all the flows are a bit scattered — having folders or a better way to organize them would make a huge difference (which I hear might be coming soon). Also, adding sentiment-based triggers would put it even more on par with some competitors.

**What problems is Appcues solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Appcues solves several challenges for us. It makes it easy to onboard new users and guide them through new features. We use it not just for onboarding, but also for promotions like pop-ups and banners, as well as hotspots to draw attention to key areas inside the product. This flexibility has helped us move faster, test different approaches, and improve our feature adoption. It’s saving us time, reducing dependency on devs, and making it much easier to deliver a more targeted/personalized experience to our users.

When a new user signs up, there is a checklist they need to go through and watch the videos listed.
When we update the app and we send out our realses notes to the users as a popup.
We use User Segments to categorize our users to send specific flows.
We use the webhooks to send us events when the user does something we want to track.

Helped us to increase our trial conversion rate. Before Appcues we are struggling with a way to retain our trial users after 7 days but it improved a lot after Appcues. We are now running more than 12K DAU .

We faced some integration challenges and other than that we are very happy with the product and the outcome we are getting. The tool is delivering more than the expected ROI

Appcues used to be really buggy but it has come a long ways. I'd love to continue to see performance improvements. Also, they started enforcing more pricing/team size limits which wasn't ideal.

We needed to help users get to a quick activation point. The existing code we had was too hard to update. This moved the onboarding from the developers hands to the hands of marketers and growers

We continue to use App Cues and it is a great tool for training and onboarding.

 It could be the combination of our software and design of AppCues, but sometimes it is hard to get the navigation of page changes to display exactly how we need it it.

**What do you like best about Appcues?**

Appcues allows me, a non-technical marketer, to implement product experiences that I would otherwise have to bug my engineering team to build. The builder is a smooth experience and I can see exactly what the flow looks like in our product *before I go live*. Most of all, I really appreciate that Appcues takes very technical aspects and makes it friendly for those of us with less technical aptitude. I understand CSS and HTML well enough but I can't write code and Appcues allows me to "write code" without writing code. It's saving my engineering team tons of time, I can test and iterate all on my own, and we're engaging our audience in ways we weren't able to before.

Getting started was simple and Appcues definitely dog-foods their own product which not only helps me learn how to use their product, it also gives me ideas of what I can do inside of mine!

Right now I'm in Appcues every day as I'm just getting setup but I can see how I'll become a daily user moving forward. It's just too easy to update and change things.

The integration with Hubspot is crucial for our marketing team too. I haven't dug into this as I'm still building our flows out but I can see where event tracking and triggering emails will help us connect with our customers wherever they are.

**What do you dislike about Appcues?**

The only thing I don't like so far is that I'm on an account with certain limits (like my number of segments I can target) and I want to upgrade sooner than I thought I'd have to. So now I have to go ask for more budget!

**What problems is Appcues solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Appcues is helping us give our customers a tour of our complex product. It's giving us the ability to empower our customers to feel confident using our platform. This has the potential to reduce support tickets and allow our CSMs to take on more accounts.

What you see is what you get. The chrome add-on builder tool is exactly what our team was looking for in terms of creating new experiences - and it also allowed us to get a sense for the platform before we bought. The analytics and A/B testing features are also giving us exactly what we need. We're new to the platform but so far, so good!

We don't have access to the same analytics functionality in our launchpads - which would be nice to have.

- The mobile experience needs some work, missing launchpads on mobile is painful
- The no-code experience doesn't always translate into reading elements easily
- The testing links used to preview flows and other creations is spotty
- The mobile testing debugger needs some work as it doesn't always function properly
- Implementation is completely dependent on your engineering team

**What problems is Appcues solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Appcues' primary purpose it to help us solve feature adoption and allow for less code dependent personalization experiences. This burden gets shifted to our product and marketing teams and takes the workload off of our development team. In addition, it adds a certain flair to our software/platform that makes it more appealing to customers.

I like the drag and drop feature when building a pop up on our site. It is pretty user friendly and we are able to build what we want easily.

I dislike the audience builder and the user lookup features. They are both pretty slow to populate and it takes a while to get a preview of what you are looking for.

Appcues is letting us reach an audience that is opted out of our other communications. We are able to reach them with pop ups, and guess what, they usually engage.

**What do you like best about Appcues?**

As a Product Manager, I can publish initiatives to my users with very little help from engineering or design. It allows me to communicate with users, segment the content I want to display, keep track of it, and has opened up a new way for us to reach out to users within our product. It is great that I always get a quick response from the Appcues team whenever I reach out. We're starting to use Appcues more for our user research strategies.

**What do you dislike about Appcues?**

Sometimes it's hard to understand what the impact of some settings will represent to a flow, like how I can show it repeatedly. It is also hard to create surveys within Appcues without the need for devs or a third-party app. Additionally, other colleagues constantly ask me if we can create buttons in our product with Appcues, and I always have to find other workarounds for their requests. It can also be frustrating that only one NPS survey can be live at once, there need to be at least 2 or more running so we can show them on our different platforms/products.

It allows us to send communications to users quickly, segmented, and without much need of interference or approval from other teams and stakeholders.

**What do you like best about Appcues?**

I like the customization of Appcues flows and the fact that I don't need to rely on devs for making quick and effective changes to our platform. Appcues support has been very helpful and responsive to all of my requests. I haven't had a single negative experience with Appcues support.

**What do you dislike about Appcues?**

I dislike how Appcues isn't optimized for clients who have a large number of flows. It's hard to stay organized with the current Flows tab. It would be helpful to have buckets or folders with sub-folders to keep flows in (I'l often have a overarching campaign with different regional and persona-based flows within it).

Appcues is solving our problem of users not knowing how to find information on our platform or use our industry research. We use Appcues to educate users with personalized tours.

- Missing the ability to skip/select a different flow stage depending on certain conditions.
- Sometimes the flow can be slow, with the next step taking 1 or 2 seconds to be displayed.
- Managing domains list in a small input text is not confortable.

What I really like about Appcues is how intuitive and easy it is to set up. It requires minimal involvement from our development team, which means the product team can quickly deploy in-app guides, surveys, and tooltips without any bottlenecks. The segmentation and targeting features are excellent, allowing us to create personalized user journeys that feel relevant and unique, significantly enhancing our overall user experience. Appcues also provides valuable data-driven insights that help us continuously refine and optimize our user flows. We can easily track how users interact with the guides and make informed adjustments accordingly. Additionally, the seamless integrations with our existing tech stack, including Jira and Slack, ensure that our teams stay in sync, which has been crucial for troubleshooting and product updates. The customer support has been excellent so I'll be using Appcues in the future no matter the project.

While Appcues provides a solid set of templates, having more design flexibility and customization options would be a welcome improvement. We often find ourselves wishing for greater control over the appearance of modals and tooltips to better match our branding and user interface. Additionally, while the tool is fantastic, the price can be a bit high for smaller teams or companies that are just starting out. There are many things that makes from appcues a complete toolkit for enterprises, but the ones that I find more remarkable are, versatility, usability, flexibility and user experience. It's a very intuitive tool that provides enhanced features to cover the most common scenarios of users navigating web and mobile apps. It's easy to integrate with any platform and you want to use it everyday.

There are still some issues when it's not used in hybrid mobile frameworks like ionic, however the support and engineering team are always willing to help to resolve problems for implementation.

**What do you like best about Appcues?**

The visual editor is very user-friendly. Building a Flow is so simple compared to what we used to have with another software that required us to know HTML. Tracking clicks within Flows and within our own software is super simple. We're a month into using it and as we get more comfortable with it (it is very different from what we were using previously), we're seeing more and more time savings.

Getting ramped up was really simple, too. And the support we've gotten and continue to get is super responsive and helpful.

**What do you dislike about Appcues?**

There are some things we were able to do with our old personalization software that we can't with Appcues, like embedding messaging on our pages, so that it looks like it's part of the site. Targeting Flows is different than we're used to in some ways, but that's more change management on our side of things. It's largely similar to what we've done before, as in they aren't doing anything too crazy.

**What problems is Appcues solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our old personalization software had become more of a hinderance than a help. We were looking for a visual editor that works. We were also looking for something that allowed us more robust messaging possibilities, including making new customer onboarding more easy to create. Appcues has ticked all those boxes. We're still discovering cool ways that Appcues can help us that we just didn't have before.

I primarily leverage Appcues for running in-app surveys and NPS, and the platform makes this incredibly easy. In addition, I run Appcues integrated with Amplitude; this enables the bi-directional flow of events that helps in two ways. First, the event data from Amplitude allows for very specific NPS and Flows targeting; second, having the Appcues data in Amplitude makes it very simple to analyze the survey results in-context with user behavior.

**What do you dislike about Appcues?**

Appcues is looking at adding support for  e-mail. If Appcues had email-based NPS then our company could leverage a single platform. This feels like a simple addition that we first requested almost two years. Another great enhancement would be a smoother survey experience; currently, the presentation layer is very basic.

**Recommendations to others considering Appcues:**

Know the problem you're trying to solve. Appcues isn't a product analytics tool.

**What problems is Appcues solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In-app NPS is number one. NPS data is crucial, and the Amplitude integration allows us to create very targeted cohorts that then influence outreach. Further, the in-app surveys have helped test product enhancements that prioritized new features that we didn't think were of high value; data-driven! In addition to helping with the roadmap, having the survey data within the app saved us weeks or months of manual effort.

Love Appcues! I just wish I had more time to spend on it! I found the system easy to use and implement in our system stack. Really quick and straightforward integration with our CDP and other systems. Setting up things like flows and modals is super quick and easy, and the targeting and general functionality are great. Appcues support is extremely helpful and quick to response, and they have a huge range of knowledge articles that are super useful and really easy to understand.

Sometimes finding the right/unique element to attach a step of a flow to can be a bit challenging, but this could just be the nature of our app. Not sure this is an Appcues fault!
