What do you like best about Amazon WorkSpaces?

Amazon WorkSpaces provides secure, managed virtual desktops without requiring organisations to run and maintain their own VDI infrastructure. I especially like Personal WorkSpaces, WorkSpaces Core, AutoStop mode, AlwaysOn mode, and the integration with AWS Directory Service, which together make it easier to provision secure desktops for remote employees and contractors.

The user experience is consistent across Windows, macOS, Linux, tablets, and web browsers. Performance is strong for general productivity workloads, and the ability to scale automatically removes much of the complexity typically associated with traditional VDI deployments. What do you dislike about Amazon WorkSpaces?

Graphics-intensive workloads often require higher-specification bundles, which can drive up the overall cost. The user experience also depends heavily on network latency, especially for remote users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Amazon WorkSpaces solving and how is that benefiting you?

Amazon WorkSpaces addressed our need to securely deliver managed desktops to distributed teams.

For example, contractors were able to use fully managed virtual desktops integrated with Active Directory, which provided secure access to internal applications without leaving corporate data on personal devices.
