What I like best about Amazon EC2 Systems Manager is that it centralizes server management tasks such as secure instance access, patching, configuration management, and automation. It significantly reduces the need for direct SSH access and helps standardize operational procedures across large EC2 fleets. The Session Manager feature is particularly valuable because it allows administrators to connect securely to EC2 instances through the AWS console without maintaining bastion hosts or opening inbound SSH ports.
