What do you like best about Alacritty?

Alacritty is a terminal emulator. It's a terminal emulator which was published in 2017 - which might seem a bit silly - but it offers features like GPU acceleration, serious customization and cross-platform support which are still unmatched.

It's fast. Alacritty's speed is unmatched. Compared to the macOS terminal, which I use daily, Alacritty is at least five times as fast. And thanks to the extensive customization, you can make it feel like the stock terminal.

What do you dislike about Alacritty?

Honestly - for someone who likes to point out tiny details in everything and suggest improvements, Alacritty truly has not shown me any flaws that are worth pointing out. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Alacritty solving and how is that benefiting you?

A good terminal is the backbone of all operations in the server administration world. While some utilities offer a GUI, CLI is still the go-to interface with unmatched flexibility and speed of use. Alacritty takes CLI to the next level by polishing this experience to the next level. It's fast and intuitive - and as such it eases routine admin tasks - and makes them look and run better, too.
