The useful part is that product, price, and quote can live in one process. We do not have to rebuild the same discount logic in a spreadsheet for every deal. Bundles and price rules help sales use a standard starting point, then adjust inside an agreed range. For our team, this reduced “which price list is current?” conversations. After the catalog and basic rules were stable, quote preparation became more repeatable than a file attached to an email. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Price rules look clean on a diagram, but real exceptions appear quickly. Too many rules make a quote hard to explain to sales. Catalog maintenance also needs an owner. If product names and options drift, the quote page becomes slow to use. The new product name does not reduce that work. I would not give rule design to someone who only creates quotes. Without a catalog owner, the system looks controlled and the numbers still surprise people. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
