## Adobe Media Encoder Reviews
  ### 1. Your video files in any format

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Robert Jose V. | Diseñador gráfico, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2021

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

Adobe Media Encoder works as an encoding engine for Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Audition, Adobe Character Animator, and Adobe Prelude. It can also be used as a standalone encoder.

It contains an infinite number of formats to encode your videos or multimedia productions, you can also add new plugins such as WebM to encode in that format, personally it is much better than the After Effects encoder since it allows you endless options and additional formats.

You can create a work queue where several files are encoded at the end of the one in progress, facilitating many tasks and allowing you to work on another project while finishing others.

I usually use the formats, mp4 and WebM in my productions, the main one is mp4 since it is a light format and recognized by all devices, while WebM I use it to create files with an Alpha channel used in live broadcasts or to superimpose others videos. or multimedia productions.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

Sometimes it takes longer than usual to render a file, but it will depend a lot on the capabilities of your computer. It could have a more friendly and intuitive interface, but with basic knowledge you will be able to navigate through the entire menu without problems, without touching something that you do not know to make it work, otherwise you may regret it.

Coding errors can occur, where you will have to repeat the process. Especially with the WebM in VP9 alpha channel.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Media encoder has helped me to encode all my visual productions, both animations, tutorial videos, documentaries, video clips.

I recommend this app, despite its few cons, since over time they have improved the software at a professional and amateur level.

  ### 2. Mandatory for video encoding

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Paulo S. | Video Editor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 19, 2021

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

Media Encoder is by far the best video encoding tool out there today.
If you work with video editing, VFX, or anything that requires encoding, this is an essential tool.
With a simple interface, vast options, and broad support for several codecs, Media Encoder will solve all your needs regarding video export for the most diverse media.
Integration with Adobe products such as Premiere Pro and After Effects makes the workflow very fast.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

Unfortunately, there is no interoperability between different software versions that integrate with it, so you must always have all the software up to date.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As you can imagine, all finished video projects use Media Encoder as the final export step.

  ### 3. Makes Batch Encoding Easy Peasy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bryce T. | Operations manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 06, 2022

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

Being able to encode multiple files with different video formats in one batch makes my work life so much easier.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

It's rare, but sometimes Media Encoder does hang up. A restart is required and your progress is lost.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Media Encoder:**

If you work with a lot of video files, Media Encoder will save you a ton of time!

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Media Encoder for batch encoding. On average I encode 150-200 video files per day.

  ### 4. A plugin that helps a lot to export videos from After Effects

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Xavier A. | Diseñador gráfico, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 03, 2022

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

The reduction in time when exporting a video

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

Sometimes there are errors or it takes a long time to start the program.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Media Encoder:**

Using the program reduces time when exporting videos from After Effects. When exporting a video in After Effects, it does not allow using the program until the video export is finished; this changes when using Media Encore.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The time it takes to export videos from After Effects or convert videos to another format.

  ### 5. Adobe Media Encoder Review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 27, 2022

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

When I need to brand my content, I can utilize image overlays in Premiere Pro to add a watermark or embed a logo in the corner of my frame, and I love that. Also, I can name overlays to label and organize my footage correctly.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

If I want to use it, I need an Adobe account and a Creative Cloud membership. Video encoding used to be very time-consuming and if you don't understand the principles of video encoding, utilizing this software tends to be very hard.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I tend to use it for basic editing. Also, to import, organize and classify all the media that I will use in my montages. I also create visual effects, color correction, design and animation of graphics and lettering, sound mixing and correction, and transitions.

  ### 6. Great fix for transcoding media

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Political Organization | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 10, 2021

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

Very clear and accurate software to transcode media to different file formats. I like especially that you can track progress, see the thumbnail, and enjoy a ding notification.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

There is not an option to transcode a webm file into an mp4, for example. That would be an added plus to have that capability. But other than that, no dislikes!

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's the fastest way to change a video to a different format, so it's definitely solving that issue. The benefit of having so many options to choose from is important in my line of work—often, we have different outputs. This is the way to go.

  ### 7. Adobe Media Encoder

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 08, 2021

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

These are some of the features I like in Adobe Media Encoder
• I like being able to use Adobe Media Encoder to convert media files to video and audio files for various uses and platforms.
• Adobe Media Encoder has many presets for different platforms, uses, and quality options.
• I like that the presets are customizable and that you can create and save your own presets.
• I like that you can batch convert multiple video files.
• I like that you can see the real-time progress/status of the conversion.
• I like how well it works with other Adobe Creative Suite applications, like Adobe After Effects.
• I can create compositions in Adobe After Effects and convert it for sharing right from Adobe Afetr Effects using the Adobe Media Encoder
• I also like that I can use other projects and applications, while Adobe Media Encoder is running.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

• Adobe Media Encoder can sometimes be buggy and I need to shut down the app or restart it.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Media Encoder:**

Use the Adobe trial, to try it out and see if the Adobe Media Encoder is a good solution for you.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am creating video assets for multiple uses and platforms.

  ### 8. the best media encoder for creators

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mariana F. | Executive Producer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 23, 2021

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

A significant gamma of codecs to choose from and the flexibility to fine-tune to the very details, quick and intuitively, is for sure the best thing about media encoder. Also, the integration with the other Adobe software as Premiere Pro and After Effects.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

It has to be the same version and other suite software. Not really a con, but it can consume some time if you are not all up to date.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Encoding for web and other media that don't need super high quality files, such as After Effects default export standard.

  ### 9. i use it to export videos from AE like motion graphics to mp4

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jonatan T. | Diseñador gráfico, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2021

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

is fast and easy to use, you dont need to learn anything extra

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

there are some interface things that could be more visual and easy to understand

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

i am rendering motion graphics for branding, it is good to export and keep working on AE

  ### 10. Great for batch export and for trimming the two ends

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Media Production | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 13, 2022

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

It's easy to send exports directly from Premiere Pro and queue them so videos can be exported in the background while the editing software is freed up.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

I wish you could set multiple in and out points in a single clip.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Media Encoder:**

It's a great tool to use along with the rest of Adobe CC. Highly recommend incorporating it into your video process.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Freeing up the editing software while batch processing exports

  ### 11. Encoding made easy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Media Production | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 13, 2021

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

I love being able to work on multiple projects in Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, Audition, etc. simultaneously and send them all to the render queu in Media Encoder CC and then actually render them all at once. Rather than hogging up computer resources to export an After Effects(resource heavy) project while trying to work on something in another app.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

I wish it had the ability to work with mkv files fluently. Some will work but come out with no audio.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Increased productivity by being able to queu up multiple projects from different applications and render them all at once when I'm done with everything I'm actively working on.

  ### 12. Very easy to use batch rendering software

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in E-Learning | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2021

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

Easy to use works without much training.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

I've had a few times where a video has exported with crazy pixelation or other weird rendering artifacts. But this happens very rarely, and it seems to be linked to when many ultra key effects are in use on the same clip.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For my job, I often have 20 or more videos I need to export overnight. Media Encoder lets me do that no problem. It also allows me to select all of those videos and make them into MP3s in just a few clicks compared to manually exporting a new MP3 file for every sequence in Premiere Pro.

  ### 13. This Software is Terrible

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ardi K. | Google Ads manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 30, 2021

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

you can import high-quality videos if it works correctly

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

It doesn't work properly and support is bad. It doesn't import videos

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Exporting videos from ADobe After Effects into the Media Encode, but then the video doesn't export well at all.

  ### 14. Easy, Smooth, and Reliable

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Media Production | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 22, 2021

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

This is the fastest way to encode and export media while giving me the ability to edit throughout.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

I dislike the very few times that the Media Encoder is unable to export. Oftentimes the reasoning for the failure to encode is vague and confusing.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am able to speed up my workflow and export multiple versions of my projects for clients and colleagues.

  ### 15. So close, but not quite

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Drew D. | Media Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 30, 2019

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

I do a ton of batch exports, and this is the best tool for a premiere workflow. When I'm exporting 50+ files at once, it's nice to be able to send files to Encoder, and then still be able to use Premiere. I even will export files in Media Encoder when just doing one or two files, just to be able to go back into premiere and keep working at the same time. It's a nice convenience thing.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

I have two problems with media encoder. The first is that you can't set the export location for all the files in the queue at once. It frequently defaults to the last place I exported files, which is often not where I want them to go. It's a huge chore to have to go back and do that for individual files.
My other struggle is when using custom LUTs in Premiere. I have found that media encoder frequently incorrectly applies or ignores the LUTs that I have used.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Media Encoder:**

I use this for direct linking with Premiere. I prefer Handbrake for shrinking files or converting them if they are separate from Premiere.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm a video editor by trade, so Media Encoder enables me to be more efficient when exporting, especially when my job often requires a lot of versioning and delivery of different formats for each project. It also allows me to save time when batch exporting stock clips.

  ### 16. Media Encoder CC Review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Elizabeth S. | Freelance Art Director, Designer, Videographer, Animator, and Artist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 28, 2020

  ### 17. Extremely powerful and capable encoder

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Josh W. | Video Marketing Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 28, 2021

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

I can export video or audio to my exact specifications that I want to.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

I wish there was more combatibility with less used video codecs like .avi

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can export video or audio to my exact specifications that I want to.

  ### 18. Media Encoder - The only choice.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Leisure, Travel & Tourism | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 27, 2021

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

It handles everything. It's dead simple with excellent queuing.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

When there is an error, the information given is not quite adequate to figure out what the problem was.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Media Encoder:**

Like the title says, it's the only choice as far as I'm concerned.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I encode proxies and many bulk video files in specific formats. There is no other solution that can do that work so efficiently.

  ### 19. Adobe media encoder - the power of multimedia

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alexandro B. | Auxiliaire d'enseignement, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 17, 2021

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

I like the versatility when working with different audio and video formats

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

it is a bit slow when the files are large and need to be encoded

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Media Encoder:**

I recommend media encoder because it is an excellent tool for encoding multimedia files

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

exporting after effects working videos

  ### 20. Adobe Media Encoder Review

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Taylor B. | Ministry Coordinator, Non-Profit Organization Management, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2020

  ### 21. Simply Amazing

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eddie M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 26, 2020

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

I like the following about media encoder
- complete integrations with adobe premiere pro and adobe after effects
- ability to choose from tons of codecs
- ability to customize audio and video separately
- option to choose codes like H.264 which is not available natively in after effects
- the option to upload directly to streaming platforms
- the rendering speed is much higher than native software

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

What I dislike about media encoder
- It usually got troubles when working with remuxed files
- It needs the other software to work like to process After effects project after effects must be installed already
- many external plugins are unsupported
- usually takes lots of memory but it's common in any rending software

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Media Encoder:**

If you use adobe premiere pro or adobe after effects, then you must use media encoder, no questions.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Adobe Media Encoder is mainly used to render out after effects and premiere pro projects.

  ### 22. An useful tool for clipping

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Graphic Design | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 07, 2021

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

It's straightforward to use, especially when you already know how to use Adobe PS or AI.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

Sometimes it takes a while to start this software.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm using Adobe Premiere for movie editing, and I also need ME to help with my clipping progress.

  ### 23. Easy and faster renders for adobe products

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nelson W. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 28, 2020

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

Adobe Media Encoder CC is fast, by fast I mean much faster than rendering with build-in render for adobe after effects. I mainly used Media encoder for adobe premiere pro and adobe after effects. I didn't know about media encoder CC for a while and been using the build-in render for after effects using AVI format. Then I started using premiere pro CC and using media encoder became a must if you want renders. for me it was a revolutionary change, for once there were a great selection of output formats and settings like the H.264 format which gives high-quality outputs with a fraction of the size of AVI. ever since I never used the build-in render engine.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

There are too many settings in there which can be overwhelming for a beginner, especially I had lots of trouble with alpha channel renders luckily there was a lot of help available around the web.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Media Encoder:**

It comes with the creative cloud products, so make sure you take advantage of it.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

as mentioned above, I mainly use it for rendering after effects and premiere pro projects.

  ### 24. Essential if you use After Effects

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Artur B. | Photographer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 02, 2021

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

The exporting options and features it brings to After Effects that is lacks.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

Nothing really.. it works well. Pretty much essential if you render videos.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

After Effects by default has only a few options when rendering videos and all of them generate big files.
Adobe Media Encoder brings the flexibility of many other codecs and options to the table.
You have all the exporting options that Premiere offers.

  ### 25. Why use Media Encoder for Premiere Pro users

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Zee M. | Test Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 27, 2020

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

Most of the render settings in Media Encoder also exist on Premiere. What I like about Media Encoder is that you can queue up many instances of your final video with different settings for different platforms, and have them all render in the background while you still use Premiere. Also, I recently started watermarking my videos until the client pays, and you can add these overlays and streamline them into your render process very quickly for future projects.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

I dislike that it's yet another program that has to be opened and it just seems superfluous that the extra features can't be implemented into Premiere or After Effects.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Media Encoder allows me to experiment freely with render settings until I finally get the optimal version for where it's getting published. Changing bit rates and resolutions or file sizes can be done easily and then you can queue all these up and render all at the same time. Premiere is only one at a time.

  ### 26. Works Seamlessly with the Entire Adobe Suite for Rendering

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jimmy A. | Senior Video Producer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 09, 2020

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

I love the granular control of the encoder allowing you to export video files with or without audio. It's also nice to be able to quickly generate proxy files for having a proxy workflow in Premiere. There are plenty of presets to get you started and there's also limitless options to create your own presets.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

Some might say it's overly complex but that's not an actual negative in my book. The complexity comes with versatility which is great!

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's hard to generate content that looks good on social platforms and with Media Encoder you have the best encoding options for making that content look good.

  ### 27. Forver Poor

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Liam P. | Animator/Editor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 10, 2019

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

First off, this is just a different version of Media Encoder CC, and much is the same both good and bad, first off, the speed of which you can render products is insanely quick, this is amazing for quick exports of multiple clips that are to be sent off to wherever in one go, the UI is also very clean and displays all the info you could ever want, such as formats, timecodes, small display window showing the current frame rendering, and all this is adjustable, you can scale, move, add and finally remove windows that you deem more useful or worthless this is all great stuff.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

The main problem with encoder is its main hook, rendering, if your doing a very basic render with little effects and next to no post production elements applied then this software might be alright, but if your wanting your final cut or basic cut with grades rendered out quick then you best just render it out your main editing software such as premire, yes it takes longer, but encoder is buggy to all ends, note some of these dont come up as errors within the software, some of the experiences ive had, edits rendering without grades and applied precomps from after effects links, renders having random black frames placed into the cut, footage just missing point blank missing, multiple crashes with very blank error logs as to why.

I honestly cannot reccomend this software when the main function of it, doesn't work at all. Youd be better off just rendering from premiere one at a time.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Media Encoder:**

I wouldnt even bother trying it, if your having trouble with render times and need to batch render I would reccomend a render farm service over using this software, yes it costs but it is better than having headaches trying to fix media encoder.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This software literally solves no problems as it is basically non functional.

  ### 28. Amazing encoder with lots of possibilities

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Samir A. | Freelance Editor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 02, 2019

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

I love the fact that you can choose precisely every single setting of your composition, in order to improve the bitrate and the quality of the video itself. It has made me improve my encoding by a lot! (decreasing sizes to a 66%)

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

I dislike that you can't actually see the difference of what a rendered element is without an actual rendering (looks like it doesn't calculate properly the difference between them, since the option is there)

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Media Encoder:**

You should test it (and possibly learn a bit of it), it's blazing fast how you can improve your renderings and encodings with this little tool.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps me improving the quality of my videos while lowering the size of them. It really is helpful compared to my other solutions.

  ### 29. All-in-one

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 16, 2019

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

The dynamic link server lets you queue exports to be rendered from multiple projects or different sequences and compositions, but you can also just throw in a video and encode it into a different format or compress it however you need.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

It takes a while to start up, and whenever I send items to the queue from a different software it usually doesn't show up immediately and I have no way of knowing if it's working in the background until it magically appears.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When there's a project that would take a long time to render, I just throw multiple versions into AME and leave to get coffee while they're all exporting, and when I come back they're all done! Also, if I need to change the codec of a video afterwards there are lots of options to do it from there.

  ### 30. A few bugs but great

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Diego I. | Visual Effects Artist | VFX Supervisor | Digital Compositor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 27, 2019

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

The key feature of Media Encoder is the possibility to batch a lot of render process, schedule it or playing in background without interrupting your workflow on other Creative Cloud Software. Another great feature is the possibility to chose ad hoc export preset or use the most popular on social network or broadcasters.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

Sometimes Dynamic Link with other software brakes and you need to restart softwares or even the machine to fix it. unfortunately this could be very boring because needs a workflow interruption. In addition media Encoder doesn't delete temporary projects files used for render the files and so you need to find and delete it manually after every render. Some problems with network renders if you work on multi os environment.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Media Encoder:**

I suggest Media Encoder to anyone need to render video files or convert existing ones without interrupting its workflow. It offers a lot of preset that allow you to quickly find the perfect package for your video filles, ready for publish on broadcast or social networks.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Adobe Media Encoder has the great benefit of allowing user to render projects without interrupting the daily workflow and export it in a great number of presets. In addition you can also set up the so called "Watching Folders" that allow you to simply render files by drag and drop from your local computer, external drives or other machines in your network. it is also perfect for multi machine rendering and render farms.

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

I love being able to batch export videos.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

Dislike how I cant select one "Style" of export and apply to all. It makes it a "new export" in addition to what I already have.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Media Encoder:**

N/A (No Advise)

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Crashing and Lag.
Benefits? Set and go if I need to step away from the studio.

  ### 32. Best Encoding Software Out There

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Canaan H. | Production assistant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 06, 2019

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

There are so many audio and video options to chose from your are bound to find the format you need to export in.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

Sometimes Encoder will take awhile to start the encoding process for no reason and it will occasionally crash and you will have to start the encode over again.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For work we make videos to share on facebook and other social media websites, to put on DVD's and CD's, and high definition digital files. Media Encoder can export our videos into all of those formats and more! The best benefit of this software is that it works with Premier Pro so you can send a premiere project straight to Encoder.

  ### 33. Latest update is buggy, but overall still time efficient

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gabriel J. | Director Of Photography, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2018

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

Media encoders cue building feature. The multitasking ability is incredible. I can edit for a few hours. Cue out multiple interations and sit back and catch up on emails.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

The frequent bugs and crashes. The latest version has been the most failure prone. Had 10+ videos crash out and fail in the last week.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Media Encoder:**

The latest version is probably the worst yet. Hoping for the best in the future.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to export long cues of videos simultaneously, while multi tasking.

  ### 34. Why use Adobe Media Encoder

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 25, 2019

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

I honestly just love how easier it is to use. As a marketing and Graphic Design Specialist, I spend hours and hours creating content for our website and social media platforms and exporting videos often takes a very long time. Whereas with Media Encoder compressing the files I am able to export and save my work quickly and effectively while keeping all of my projects organized.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

I really dislike how sometimes my videos are missing graphics when I export. In Premier and After Effects the video will be fine but when I watch the preveiw in Media Encoder I see that some graphics vanish and I can't seem to figure out why. Then I'll export it again and again and then it works. So it just gets frustrating but for the most part I love it!

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Media Encoder:**

I would recommend media encoder to anyone who is in the Graphic Design field.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I love being able to queue videos so that I don't have to waste time. I am able to continue working on other projects while I let media encoder do its thing.

  ### 35. The perfect software for rendering videos

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Douglas G. | Systems Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2019

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

I like how easy it is to use this program, as well as being perfectly integrated with all the other Adobe tools. Something I like very much is to be able to enter the After Effects files and be able to select which composition to render. I also like the amount of coding methods that the software has, allowing to change the screen resolution, and general aspects to obtain an optimal final result for the final use of multimedia work

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

I do not like that it consumes many computer resources and can leave other processes and applications paralyzed, sometimes it also leaves them hanging, having to perform a forced shutdown of these applications. At the same time it does not allow integration with other tools outside the Adobe platform, or I have not found a way to achieve this integration with other platforms

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Media Encoder:**

I recommend this software, it is easy to use, any beginner can use it with the help of tutorials on the internet, in addition to the excellent number of ways to encode the videos makes it an excellent tool to improve the creation of multimedia content

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In the company has helped solve problems mainly in the generation of own content, previously the rendering of videos and multimedia material in general was more complicated to perform and was not as efficient as when using Media Encoder

  ### 36. Lifesaver for anyone working on multiple projects at once

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jordan I. | Digital/Field Producer & Social Media Consultant/Manager - ME TIME WITH FRANGELA, Entertainment, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 07, 2019

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

The benefit of media encoder is obvious-- you can export as many projects as you want in the background while you keep working. While this can slow down your machine, at the end of the day, it generally works pretty well, and I use an old MacBook Pro and don't generally-speaking have any problems with it. It's fairly straightforward and easy to use, and gives you access to any export settings you could possibly want.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

I think the simple features, like choosing where a file goes, which export setting apply to a file, etc. are sometimes a bit overcomplicated. Even though it's a batch software, there are many functionalities that you should be able to batch, but for some reason or another, you can't.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Media Encoder:**

I recommend taking a moment to learn the layout, and making sure your default file location makes sense for you. If you like certain export settings, I also recommend building a default so you can use it again and again. I usually send things there via Premiere rather than directly on Media Encoder.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I often produce as many as 10 videos per day, and my day is greatly sped up by giving me the option to batch export in the background and keep working. I also am able to leave file conversions running overnight, and let the computer do the work for me instead of having to sit and wait for exports, which I have certainly had to do in the past.

  ### 37. Good for queuing but not always capable of finding all the files

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Peter K. | Freelance Graphic Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 25, 2019

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

I like the fact that you can make a list of things to render all at once and walk away. It's also great that you get to keep using programs while it renders, albeit a bit slower. It's also faster at rendering than the program itself most of the time.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

I don't like that it sometimes doesn't find all the files necessary to render a complete video. Sometimes it can't find a background or transition that is clearly useable if you render from Premiere, but it won't show up in the encoder. But at least it gives a warning if it won't do the complete video perfectly.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Media Encoder:**

It is a great addition to the Adobe software and it's been around for a long time. I would suggest checking for warning icons before your final queue render, but otherwise it is a top notch product abling you to keep working on your projects and then render when you have a break from work and come back to a full list of renders completed.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We've solved the problem of not having to render just one file at a time which allows us to queue a bunch of stuff and walk away. It saves a ton of time, allowing us to work on a bunch of things, queue them and keep working and then at the end of the day you can just hit render, go home and come back the next day and have all your renders finished.

  ### 38. Use frequently to export HQ videos.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 10, 2019

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

While I'm editing on Adobe Premiere Pro - I can still work while the HD/4k videos up exporting. It moves quite fast even on our older modeled Mac.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

The only time I ever use it is for exporting so I can't really give a bad review in that sense.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Media Encoder:**

Learn and watch Youtube videos. My response for anything to learn something new.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Only problem Ive ever encountered was when I was exporting more than 10 videos on the "QUE" list the project crashed. Then again, could have just been because of older MAC equipment. But I've yet to use it on brand new Mac.

  ### 39. Media Encoder handles a wide variety of codecs and is very stable.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 19, 2019

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

I like best being able to build presets for a wide variety of pixel dimensions since I work with a lot of different size screens. So, for example, if I export from After Effects a video that is 48 pixels high and 1920 pixels wide, and want it in an uncompressed avi then all I have to do is drag a preset over and start the job. It is also great how you can cue up multiple renders and then start them all at once.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

There isn't much to dislike. The program functions as advertised. If I had anything, I'd want it to be a little smarter. For example, it ought to be able to detect the pixel dimensions of the After Effects project it is being asked to render and offer suggestions as to which of its presets would be the best fit. I have 20 presets and always have to scroll down the list to find which one matches the pixel dimensions of the comp I am trying to export. Why can't that info just be sent along from After Effects.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Media Encoder:**

I think this is a great addition to the Adobe family of products. If you have After Effects or Adobe Premiere then you will f ind this to be an indispensable tool.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are making digital signage for a large number of different sized LED boards around a variety of sports venues. Our basketball arena has 13 different pixel dimensions on its various boards and we can use Adobe Media Encoder to export After Effects videos to all of them really easily.

  ### 40. Media Format Renderer/Encoder That Is Very Reliable

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nikki T. | Nikki Tiler, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 28, 2019

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

I like that Adobe Media Encoder outputs to formats with presets for YouTube and Vimeo, and is very reliable.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

It can take hours to export videos at the highest quality, so sometimes we have to leave the computers on overnight to encode, and we are not able to provide a same-day service as a result.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Media Encoder:**

You can export to multiple formats if you right-click a job and do Duplicate. This lets you output in less time than if you were to export each separately.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We export our motion videos to formats for various hardware media players for use in digital signage e.g. in takeaway restaurants. We have found that Adobe Media Encoder is reliable, and also able to output to multiple formats simultaneously, and upload directly to remote servers with presets.

  ### 41. Adobe Media Encoder: Multipurpose Encoding Solution

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Evan T. | Senior Video Producer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 13, 2019

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

Adobe Media Encoder seamlessly integrates with Premiere Pro and After Effects. Sequences can be exported directly from these programs to Media Encoder for rendering outside of the parent application. Project files can even be opened in Media Encoder bypassing other software, allowing for use on dedicated render servers. Media Encoder supports many-threaded rendering for high-core-count CPUs as well as GPU acceleration for fast exports.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

Adobe Media Encoder occasionally suffers from slow performance and crashes when loading sequences directly from project files. This behavior typically does not occur when launching Media Encoder from the export dialog in Premiere Pro.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Media Encoder:**

I would suggest Adobe Media Encoder to users planning to use Adobe Premiere Pro for editing, or Adobe CC subscribers who need an encoding solution for exporting projects or transcoding standalone files. Users of other software packages may prefer to use the encoder that comes with their packages instead.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Media Encoder is essential to my work as a video editor. It helps me work more efficiently by exporting projects outside of the editing software which allows for a more efficient workflow. It also serves to transcode files for proxy editing or different distribution targets.

  ### 42. Capable, but sometimes buggy.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Media Production | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 04, 2019

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

I often find myself using Premier, or After Effects. To export, I use Adobe Media Encoder. The file format options are plentiful, and the software is well rounded. Even beginners can feel relatively at home in just a few minutes.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

Over time, I've found the software to be a bit buggy. While I'd say it works 90% of the time, files I send from other Adobe programs in the suite fail to transfer over, and I find myself having to "send" the file more times than I would like. It also crashes on occasion, something that is of a rarity with the other Adobe programs I use.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Media Encoder offers a median to export my creative works. Nothing more to it.

  ### 43. Useful with Adobe After Effects

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Iulian O. | L1 & L2 IT Support Operational, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 19, 2019

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

Compatible with any kind of encoding and formats for rendering and processing of video files.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

Sometimes the Dynamic Link Server is a mess.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Rendering the productions made with Adobe After Effects CC.

  ### 44. The Best

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Online Media | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2019

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

Many formats, intuitive interface, easy to use

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

Could possibly be easier to sync up with Premiere and After Effects

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Media Encoder:**

If you can't find your specs in Adobe AE or Premiere, chances are you will find them in Media Encoder

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I worked as an Encoding technician for years and Media Encoder is one of the best tools I've ever used for encoding/transcoding

  ### 45. Deceptively Simple Video Encoder

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joan F. | Motion Graphics Specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 03, 2019

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

I like that Adobe Media Encoder CC is dynamically linked to Adobe Premiere and Adobe After Effects, so I can export a video without an intermediate stage, to the desired format.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

I think that the encoding presets for YouTube and Vimeo could be improved slightly, as sometimes it triggers recompression which reduces quality for viewers.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Media Encoder:**

You may need to tweak the presets for YouTube to get the best encoding, especially for 4K, as they don't match Google's recommended settings.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Adobe Media Encoder CC to encode my final output from both Adobe Premiere and Adobe After Effects. By having a dynamic link from these programs, I am able to save many hundreds of gigabytes of disk space and maintain optimal quality by not having an intermediate stage in the encoding process that requires uncompressed video.

  ### 46. There's not a file it won't convert

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 30, 2019

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

The sheer amount of options for files it will read, and output options

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

Sometimes it can be a bit slow and clunky, and often confusing

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Media Encoder:**

If you have specific video encoding requirements this is the software for you

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Converting files for social media campaigns

  ### 47. Coding made simple

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Broadcast Media | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 20, 2019

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

Adobe Media Encoder is my go-to software to use when encoding a video project. There are numerous settings, options and formats for videos, and encode exports take very little time. The investment is all-around well worth it, and I have never run into any issues.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

I wish pricing was a bit lower, but it is very much worth it.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Media Encoder:**

Definitely make Adobe Media Encoder your first choice. I have never regretted using it. As someone who knows and understands very little about video encoding, myself, it is super simple to use, and the tips and support Adobe offers has helped me tremendously.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to encode videos much quicker than with any other software. We are also able to access and implement virtually any format we need, and the options are endless. The preview mode also helps a great deal, and we save so much time through using that feature if it ends up not being the correct format or setting we are looking to develop.

  ### 48. Encoder land!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Broadcast Media | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 16, 2019

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

It is such a easy to use programme for any file exports needed. It’s such a great interface and it’s super quick.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

Nothing at all. It’s a really good programme, I wouldn’t say you need to fix anything.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

There are no problems at all. The benefits are fast exports for any needs. You can have preset exports too. It’s really handy when you’re in a rush.

  ### 49. Great media encoder for encoding H265

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David G. | David Grimes, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 06, 2019

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

Adobe Media Encoder works well with H265 codec, which is quite rare as it requires special licenses.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

It can be quite slow to encode video, and at times it can freeze up.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Media Encoder:**

Supports H265 codec.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Adobe Media Encoder to encode from my 4K videos to H265 format, which has benefitted me by giving smaller file sizes while still maintaining the same video quality. It was difficult to find a video encoder that worked with this encoding format.

  ### 50. Keep editing and save time

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Media Production | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2019

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

The media encoder is great for long renders especially when I’m editing on a Mac book with a slower processing system. I can keep working while the file is encoded in the background.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

There’s not much to dislike when it comes to Adobe Media Encoder. The platform performs well, I haven't had many hiccups or errors with it. I would say the only issue I ever run into is codec problems when updating Adobe Premiere Pro. Sometimes, commonly used codecs go away and we have to recreate presets.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Adobe Media Encoder can be a massive time saver when it comes to exporting multiple videos while still needing to edit. Especially on a slower processing computer.
