"Exceptional Layout and Typography Control for Polished, Client-Ready Presentations"

5/5

What do you like best about Adobe InDesign?

What I like most about Adobe InDesign is the exceptional level of control it gives me over layouts, typography, and overall document presentation. As an architect and interior designer, I find it especially useful for producing professional design portfolios, architectural presentations, project proposals, moodboards, and other client-facing documentation.

Being able to manage multi-page documents, keep branding consistent with master pages and styles, and place high-resolution images smoothly makes my workflow much more efficient. I also really value the precision InDesign offers for alignment, spacing, and visual hierarchy, which helps me create clean, sophisticated, premium-looking presentations. On top of that, its seamless integration with Photoshop and Illustrator is a major advantage, since it lets me build polished documents that clearly communicate my design ideas to clients. What do you dislike about Adobe InDesign?

What I dislike about Adobe InDesign is its relatively steep learning curve and how much time it takes to truly master the more advanced layout and formatting tools. As an architect and interior designer, I often work on image-heavy portfolios, design presentations, and project proposals, and handling large files can sometimes feel slow and resource-intensive. I also find that certain tasks—like resizing complex layouts, adjusting multiple elements at once, or making last-minute design changes—can be unnecessarily time-consuming. The subscription pricing is another drawback, especially for small design studios. I’d appreciate more intuitive editing tools, stronger performance when working with high-resolution images, improved collaboration features, and AI-powered layout automation to help make the overall workflow faster and more efficient. What problems is Adobe InDesign solving and how is that benefiting you?

Adobe InDesign addresses one of the biggest challenges in architecture and interior design: producing professional, visually compelling, well-structured documents that clearly communicate design ideas. As an architect and interior designer, I regularly create design portfolios, client proposals, moodboards, project presentations, and detailed documentation, all of which demand a high level of visual consistency and precision.

InDesign makes it easier to organize complex information—high-resolution renders, drawings, and text—into clean, polished layouts while keeping branding consistent throughout. Tools such as parent pages, paragraph styles, grids, and precise alignment controls cut down on repetitive tasks and noticeably improve my productivity.

For me, the greatest advantage is being able to deliver premium-quality presentations that reflect my design philosophy, reinforce my studio’s brand identity, and build client confidence. It saves time, streamlines revisions, and helps me communicate design concepts more clearly and professionally, which ultimately improves both the client experience and overall business efficiency.
