Overall, Adobe keep up with the needs of users well, introducing new features and updating the software often. Illustrator also has a 'Learn' section with many different tutorials. I recommend watching these so you can get used to where all of the tools are, and what the capabillities of the platform are. **What do you dislike about Adobe Illustrator?** I dislike that there are numerous seemingly basic features that Illustrator does not have, such as the ability to set the stroke to the outside of text rather than to the inside, and to add a gradient to editable text (technically both of these are doable, but the process is not straightforward). Platforms like Canva and Picsart have these features, so it's strange that Illustrator doesn't. Also, you can't raster edit - you'll need to switch to Photoshop to do this. Simultaneously running Photoshop and Illustrator can be a disaster for a laptop/computer that isn't very powerful. Also, it's strange that you can copy a vector object from Illustrator into Photoshop, but you can't copy anything (text, image) from Photoshop into Illustrator. While you can share a file with other users to edit, multiple users can't have the same file open at once, so you can't collaborate with others in real-time. As a self-taught designer, I encountered a steep learning curve while learning how to use the platform.
