"A Friendly Middle Ground Between Visual Editing and Clean Code"

4.5/5

What do you like best about Adobe Dreamweaver?

What I like most about Adobe Dreamweaver is that it feels like a friendly “middle ground” between working in a visual editor and writing raw code. I can drag, drop, and adjust elements on the page, then switch over to the code view whenever I need more precision.

It also helps me stay organized by keeping my website files, styles, and pages together in one workspace. That way, I’m not constantly bouncing between different apps just to make small layout changes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Dreamweaver?

The main thing I dislike about Adobe Dreamweaver is that it can feel a bit heavy and somewhat outdated compared to more modern web tools. The interface doesn’t feel as smooth or lightweight as some newer editors, and it can lag at times when you’re working with lots of files or more complex layouts.

I also feel it can encourage too much “drag‑and‑drop” thinking, so if you’re not careful, the generated code can end up messy and harder to maintain. For simple, clean websites, it often feels like more software than I actually need. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Adobe Dreamweaver solving and how is that benefiting you?

Adobe Dreamweaver solves the hassle of bouncing between design tools and code editors by putting both in one place. It allows me to visually build and fine-tune website layouts while still editing the HTML, CSS, and JavaScript directly, so I’m not constantly switching programs or guessing how changes will look.

For me, that translates into faster prototyping, easier testing of responsive layouts, and more straightforward file and site management within the same workspace. It also helps me keep pages consistent, and it makes publishing or updating them on a live server feel much smoother than handling everything manually. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
