Vulnerability scanning and patching of os and third party apps

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

Managing my small environment

 ### 2. Simple to Use with Great Integrations, but Cache Management Needs Improvement

The simplicty of usage and the broad spectrum of third party applications that it supports

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

Only downsize is the cache system that is not possible to configure. some endpoints taken up by 10gb of temp files

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

WSUS deprecation, replacing SystemCenter and endpoint patching and third party apps also.

 ### 3. Very useful platform with a rapid learning curve

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dario Amedeo M. | CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 30, 2025

**What do you like best about Action1?**

You can see a global situation of updates in a large inventory of VM , servers or users PC and you can define the policies to deploy updates and massive software installations.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

Just the users that sometimes dislikes updates forced by policies. But isn't an action1 issue.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

You can manage in a very easy way the updates of very large number of PC.

**Official Response from Kimberly Gonzales:**

> Hi Dario,

It's great to hear that Action1 is helping you easily manage updates for a large number of PCs. We appreciate your support and are dedicated to continuously improving our platform.

 ### 4. Effortless and Speedy Patching Solution

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User

**Reviewed Date:** January 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Action1?**

I find Action1 really easy to use, which makes it great for patching and software deployment. I also like that it's so quick and fast. The initial setup was really easy too.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

nothing

I use Action1 for patching and software deployment. It solves the problem of patching software.

 ### 5. Easy to use and effective, a pleasant surprise.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 03, 2025

**What do you like best about Action1?**

The user interface is quick and easy to move around in. I've used RMM's in the past that were slow to update information on vulnerabilities and missing updates, but Action1 seems to work in near real time. The information I want to see most is easy to find at a glance, and patching is simple with real time feedback. Deploying and organizing endpoints is easy. There are plenty of useful built-in reports, plus the ability to make custom reports. And the unlimited 200 endpoint trial is truly amazing.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

I'm not a big fan of how running Windows and Powershell commands are implemented. The remote control feature is fine, but I would like to see a remote command line and remote Powershell interface, rather than going through multiple steps to run a command. Viewing and interacting with an endpoints processes and services would be nice as well.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As an MSP, Action1 give us a simple and intuitive interface to keep endpoints patched and monitored, along with the ability to connect to a user's PC to troubleshoot and resolve issues.

**Official Response from Kimberly Gonzales:**

> We're glad to hear that you find Action1 easy to use and effective! We appreciate your feedback on the Windows and Powershell commands, and we will take that into consideration for future improvements.

 ### 6. Reliable and Full Featured Product

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nicolas P. | Director of Information Systems, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 01, 2025

**What do you like best about Action1?**

Action1 provides enterprise-grade patch management for teams of all sizes. My company has under 200 endpoints and have struggled to find a reliable and full featured product that is cost effective for our team in the past. Once Action1 was fully setup on our system (a very simple and quick turn around), we got more information then we have ever had access to in the past. The variety of analytics and the ease of deploying updates and new software is amazing for a free product (under 200 endpoints). It was very easy to integrate this product into our standard workflow, and assist with HIPAA and PCI compliance. I would recommend this product to any company, no matter their size.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

Not all software is easily updated through Action1 (some smaller niche software). The Mac setup process is somewhat confusing and not easily deployed for a standard end user.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have struggled to find a reliable and cost effective patch and endpoint management software and Action1 has provided a very cost effective and full featured solution to improve our HIPAA and PCI compliance.

 ### 7. An Excellent Application

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Automotive | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 16, 2025

**What do you like best about Action1?**

I started using Action1 mainly as a replacement for the depreciated Spiceworks Inventory (on premise) and wasn't expecting to use much of it's other functionalities, but I was quite wrong. After deploying the agent (which was easy to implement) I was quite shocked at how many missing updates, vulnerabilities and outdated software was on what I thought was a tidy network. It was very easy to start pushing out updates and soon the network was looking much better. I also enjoy using the software deployment facility which is much easier than using Group Policy. It really has made life as an IT admin much better and checking the console is part of my daily routine. I have had no requirement to contact customer support as I have found all the answers I need via their Reddit page. I almost feel guilty of using the free (for up to 200 devices currently) version and not paying a penny for it.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

I am really struggling to find much I dislike. I did almost run into trouble early on when it offered me a Winzip update which I deployed without realising our company license was for the previous version, so the updated version immediately began asking for a software key - this did work out well in the end as it turns out that the free 7-zip (deployed via Action1) can do everything we need so it actually saved the firm some cash.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Action1 solved the problem that Spiceworks was no longer useable (shame, it was great) so it provided a new inventory for me. it also solved the problem that I was totally unaware of which was the amount of vulnerabilities on my network.

 ### 8. Effortless Patching with Remote Capabilities

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Calin G.

**Reviewed Date:** December 07, 2025

**What do you like best about Action1?**

I like Action1 because it's easy to use and I find the ability to update OS and applications remotely very valuable. The setup was very easy, and it saves me a lot of hassle since it does the patching automatically for most applications.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

Remote Desktop is slow sometimes.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Action1 for patching; it helps me update OS and applications easily, remotely, and automatically.

 ### 9. Straightforward App with Instant, Human Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Behrouz G. | Consultant and Tech Support, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 30, 2025

**What do you like best about Action1?**

Pretty straightforward application and website. Instant support over the phone, not AI or useless copy pasted chat supports.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

I never had problems with the app or Action1 website.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am able to access customers' machines quickly and resolve their issues efficiently, without encountering any problems.

 ### 10. Game-Changer for IT Management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** paul w. | IT Architect and IT team leader, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 31, 2025

**What do you like best about Action1?**

Action1 has been a game-changer for our IT management needs. The platform is intuitive, fast, and incredibly efficient at streamlining patch management and remote monitoring. Its cloud-based design means we can manage endpoints from anywhere, without the hassle of VPNs or on-prem servers. Deployment was straightforward, and we were up and running in no time. The real-time visibility into system health and software inventory has drastically improved our ability to stay ahead of potential issues.

One of the standout features is the automated patching, which has saved us countless hours and improved our security posture significantly. The interface is clean and easy to navigate, making routine tasks simple even for less experienced staff. Action1’s reporting capabilities are robust and help us meet compliance standards effortlessly.

Customer support has been responsive, knowledgeable, and always willing to assist when needed. A special thanks to Dru for his exceptional service. He was always responsive, attentive, and made the entire setup process a breeze. Dru’s ability to stay in constant contact, explain processes clearly, and action requests swiftly truly enhanced our experience.

I also appreciate the regular feature updates—they clearly listen to user feedback and are committed to continuous improvement. For any organization looking to modernize their endpoint management, Action1 is a reliable and cost-effective solution. Highly recommended.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

After using it for about 1 year, there is nothing bad I can say about it really.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Patch management and vulnerability scanning as well as software updates. Action1 does these brilliantly and has replaced three other tools we were using prior to this.

 ### 11. Effortless Patch Deployment and Remote Connectivity

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adam D. | Systems Administrator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 13, 2025

**What do you like best about Action1?**

Vulnerability management - to easily deploy patches and remote connectivity.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

Nothing, just waiting for the Linux agent that is on it's way

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Identifying updates across our software estate that can be manually or automatically deployed for a fix.

 ### 12. Nice remote management and update software.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dennis G. | IT, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 25, 2025

**What do you like best about Action1?**

I enjoy the ease of remote access and scheduling updates on my terms. The free tier is also awesome. They give you a ton of free endpoints.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

Wish the remote access worked on mobile. (Its also been a while since I checked. So it may have been fixed.)

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Update's on my schedule rather than windows randomly wiping out work with forced updates.

 ### 13. Effortless Remote Management with Action1

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bill L.

**Reviewed Date:** December 10, 2025

**What do you like best about Action1?**

I like how Action1 allows me to determine at a glance whether a user is having internet issues. It's easy to set up; I just run it as administrator and let it do its thing.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

The software deployment repository could be bigger.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Action1 to patch and update software, and remotely control endpoints, solving patching issues and enabling remote connections.

 ### 14. Effortless Setup and Outstanding Support with Action1

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2025

**What do you like best about Action1?**

Action1 is easy to get started with, deployment of the agent is easy and built in actions out of the box work well. Customer support was very responsive when i contacted them.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

Uploading custom packages can be somewhat confusing and no hardware key support for MFA

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have a small number of machines I manage for a small number of users. This makes patching and support a 15min once a week task.

 ### 15. Excited for Action1's Efficiency in Patching

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Steven R.

**Reviewed Date:** December 10, 2025

**What do you like best about Action1?**

I think having the instant review of what's missing is critically important.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

As I do not have any opinion until I've used item. Have anything to share here

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm hoping Action1 will replace our outdated WSUS platform, identifying shortcomings in our environment and applying patches instantly, resolving many issues. I think having the instant review of what's missing is critically important.

**Official Response from Kimberly Gonzales:**

> Hi Steven,

Thanks for your review! We hope that Action1 will meet and exceed your expectations in replacing your WSUS platforms and resolving issues in your environment.

 ### 16. Clean Layout and Effortless Usability

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 25, 2025

**What do you like best about Action1?**

The clean layout and user-friendly interface make it a pleasure to use, and the fact that it's free for up to 200 devices is a great bonus. Honestly, there's nothing to complain about.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

So far, I haven't come across anything I dislike. My only recommendation would be to have the columns for issues sort in descending order on the first click, rather than ascending. This way, the devices needing the most updates would appear at the top.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We used to have difficulty keeping track of updates on our staff PCs, but this software now lets us view the status of all our computers at a glance.

 ### 17. Action has been my job saver when it comes to patching and the remote features!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brandon K. | Information Technology manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 09, 2025

**What do you like best about Action1?**

The most helpfull feature of Action1 is the remoting software and the hours that this software has allowed me to work remotely. If it was not for action my job would be impossible. implementing and getting started with action up is very easy and self foward.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

Honestly the only dislike or downside of which is uncontrollable is when the services go down. I beleive I have used Action for almost 2 years and only had one outage.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Action1 has provided our 59 endpoints the required patching and endpoint management at the best value of no fee. They actually give the services for free up 100 endpoints. With that said they are also saving our company thousands of dallors. The remote software was about the easiest part of ther servies to deploy and most the time I dont even have to mess with the firewall.

 ### 18. Best WSUS replacement

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Todd G. | IT Specialist III, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 26, 2025

**What do you like best about Action1?**

First of all, this is completely free up to 200 computers so this is amazing for any small company. Other WSUS replacement products are thousands and very difficult to move away from the free WSUS. Now that WSUS doesn't have drivers, we needed a better solution. As soon as we implemented this, Action1 started finding many more updates than WSUS did. It also updates a ton of normal programs like Adobe, Chrome etc, as well as Bios and driver updates. I'm amazed at how great this product is for free. It was easy to learn and they have monthly zoom calls where you can ask questions and see a demo etc. This is a must have product in my mind.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

Very little. I would love a way to be able to rollback an update if that's possible. Updating the windows store apps would be cool. There is a roadmap of items they are working on so a few of my ideas are already in the works... and you can vote for ideas.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

WSUS no longer provides any type of driver updates. Action1 has just about everything patch related.

 ### 19. Easiest Patch Management Solution to Deploy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Justin G. | Enterprise System Administrator, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2025

**What do you like best about Action1?**

Probably one of the easiest and simplest patch management solutions to roll out and implement across and org. The growing feature set and ability to remediate vulnerabilities makes it worth the free entry at a bare minimum. For larger orgs, the support is responsive and knowledgeable when you're above the free endpoint levels. The administrative overhead is low, as well.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

The documentation for the API is currently lacking and if you're wanting to do any kind of advanced scripting with the PowerShell module you're left figuring things out for yourself. Lack of pre- and post-automation actions to better handle things like snapshots and reboots or custom scripting without automation bloat would be an essential feature add.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Patch management for our server environment, better visibility into its patch status, and better visibility on known vulnerabilities in our environment.

 ### 20. Simplicity and Security at Its Best

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matt W. | President, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 12, 2025

**What do you like best about Action1?**

The simplicity of the interface is a wonderful—setting it up took just minutes, and the design makes navigating a breeze. We love the overview dashboards that gives us a clear, real-time snapshot of our entire endpoint environment at a glance.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

At this time we can not think of anything that we would wan tot change! We are so pleased to have found Action1

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Action1 has streamlined our support and endpoint management processes significantly. The automation features are a lifesaver, handling tasks like patch deployment, which has saved us countless hours. This has also bolstered our security posture, ensuring all endpoints are consistently updated with the latest patches to mitigate vulnerabilities.

 ### 21. Moved to this from Heimdal

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gary W. | Cyber Security Officer & IT Manager & Project Technologies Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 09, 2025

**What do you like best about Action1?**

Easy to use, great dashboard, free for 200 devices. Great patch management and vulnerability visibility.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

Cost is quite high above the 200 free on a monthly basis.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mass software deployment, vulnerability visibility, patch management.

 ### 22. Time savings through patch management with Action1

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 20, 2025

**What do you like best about Action1?**

Action 1 has amazing patch management and software deployment capabilities, adding software is simple, and deploying it is even easier

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

It's not so much an issue with action1, but deploying programs that lack silent installers can be a major painpoint. Programs that are installed on a user level rather than a system level are also a pain to dea with

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Action1 covers all of our patch management needs

 ### 23. Simplicity and power in a cloud solution

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pau B. | Gerente, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 31, 2025

**What do you like best about Action1?**

The speed of the interface, the simplicity of the actions.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

The least useful thing, I think, is the automation of patches, at least in the way it is currently designed.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Endpoint management is critical in a modern company. Combining it with vulnerability management and security updates is a great idea, as it greatly simplifies the tasks that fall on the system administrator. The Dashboard also allows for a quick view of the health of the endpoints and therefore, in general, of the company. This benefits me especially in environments with an ISMS implemented like ISO 27001, where it is necessary to proceduralize patch control.

 ### 24. Action1 Makes Update and Vulnerability Management Easy—and Even Fun

Patch and vulnerability management

 ### 25. One of the best alternatives to WSUS

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bogdan N. | IT Executive, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

Since it is cloud-based, you have the flexibility to manage system updates no matter where you are. Additionally, you can update and install different applications with ease.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

The absence of support for multiple languages in the agent.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Applying updates.

 ### 27. Great for Deployments and Restarts, but Remote Access Lag Slows Things Down

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Action1?**

Ability to deploy software and coordinate restarts, etc

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

It has slowed down considerably, sometimes experiencing lag while remotely accessing machines.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mass software deployment

Keeping our environment safe from vulnerabilities and up to date

 ### 29. Easy to use software that just works

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Manufacturing | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 08, 2025

**What do you like best about Action1?**

I value its seamless endpoint management capabilities without requiring a VPN, its intuitive user interface, comprehensive patch management, and real time monitoring features, which enhance operational efficiency and security management.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

Sometimes the cloud service has problems like being unable to use remote connections or even log in.

The connectivity alert for servers trigger randomly that a server is connected

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Replacing WSUS and handling Patch management for software.
For me the 200 seats for free is really great so I don't have an impact on my budget.

I also have a reliable remote support and remote desktop option for users in Homeoffice or abroad.
I also can patch machines that are not connecting to VPN frequently.

**Official Response from Kimberly Gonzales:**

> Thank you for your review! We're glad to hear that you find Action1 easy to use and appreciate its seamless endpoint management capabilities, intuitive user interface, comprehensive patch management, and real-time monitoring features. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the cloud service issues and random connectivity alerts. Lack of comprehensive reporting. Summary and Executive reporting are needed.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

WSUS replacement, Third-party patching, and endpoint inventory visibility.

 ### 33. Great patch management solution for windows

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Steven D. | IT manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 25, 2025

**What do you like best about Action1?**

It is super easy to implement, great dashboarding and the use of it to deploy software is so easy

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

There is no downside - I would see it also availble for linux machines then it would be superb

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's an all in one solution for customer support and followup the security baseline

 ### 34. Action1 - The best option for managing updates, compliance, and remote operations

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Erick P. | Consultor, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 06, 2025

**What do you like best about Action1?**

Action1 gives you the first 200 endpoints for free. Creating your own scripts is easy with PowerShell (and ChatGPT). Its community and support are active and have responded quickly to my questions about creating my own scripts. And the best part is that they have allowed me to update quickly and efficiently 100+ Windows servers with a single agent, easy to install, lightweight, and without having to open a single incoming port on my firewall.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

None at the moment. The needs for monitoring, patches, and compliance have been met with the current clients.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Patches and Compliance from a web environment, with execution logs.

 ### 35. Great Update Deployment Software

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2025

**What do you like best about Action1?**

Working at a medical nonprofit, it is imperative that our systems stay patched. My goal was to find a program that was constant and budget friendly. In the past we had an RMM that was budget friendly, however, the UI was hard to navigate and the patching success rate was inconsistent. Thanks to Reddit, I found Action 1 and was able to try it for free for an extended period of time before committing to the paid subscription. I have been nothing but happy with this software. Being able to create groups, approve and decline updates, and create automations for update groups has made patching a breeze. Being able to remotely connect to computers, push and uninstall software, along with deploy scripts have been added benefits. Again, I've seen and tested these features in other software programs specifically RMMs, however, their functionality was always hit or miss.

Action 1 is a solid program - the platform is easy to navigate, setup and configuration changes are simple to make, and the reporting feature makes it easy to determine what endpoints require attention.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

I think some of the built-in reports could be more robust.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One key area Action1 is helping is in updating third party software. There are multiple ways to schedule or push Windows Updates but we had one off software installs that were ridiculously out of date and posed security risks.

 ### 36. Outstanding automation for patching for zero cost

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Mental Health Care | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 22, 2025

**What do you like best about Action1?**

Firstly, as a smaller org, this product is free, which is amazing, I expected it to be crippled but it's not, so I can see and fix vulnerabilities across all my user endpoints in real time. The dashboard is clean and easy to use and the library of scripts is so useful and extendable. We used Intune to roll out the agent so it was seamless and just worked. New CVEs are logged quickly, so I automate most updates and check once or twice a day to make sure things are happening as they should. I haven't need to use their support but when I contacted them for their ISO and SOC credentials they were quick to respond.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

Not much, They don't have updates for everything we use but their library is growing and pretty extensive.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This product completely changed the visibility and effectiveness of our patching and vulnerability management. After struggling with the Microsoft tooling for a while, this is amazingly simple.

 ### 37. Very easy to set up and can't beat the price

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 24, 2025

**What do you like best about Action1?**

We are a small organization with fewer than 100 endpoints. We've been using Action1 for monitoring compliance across all our endpoints to ensure software is kept current. We're also using the remote control feature to assist users when needed. Could not have been easier to set up and use.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

The scripting function works but can be a bit clunky - I do wish I could configure the timeout for a script as they only allow something like 10 minutes before it terminates. This is fine for 90% of our needs, but try running a script to uninstall McAfee...

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We really didn't have any endpoint management software in place initially - this was easy for our end users to install for themselves for painless first rollout.

 ### 38. I recommend Action1 vulnerabilities management since it is easy to use and work efficiently

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** aunghtun o. | Information Technology Manager, Manufacturing, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 26, 2025

**What do you like best about Action1?**

Automation for patching and vulnerability management.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

Nothing special but only some limitions for free users

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

System patching and vulnerability management.

 ### 39. Incredible for Small Businesses

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Electrical/Electronic Manufacturing | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 06, 2025

**What do you like best about Action1?**

Action1 is free for up to 200 endpoints, making it ideal for small businesses. Running software updates and scripts remotely works seamlessly, and the built-in reporting is excellent. The ease of use and implementation are standout features, and the discord server for support is responsive and helpful.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

The remote access feature is limited compared to others, which is understandable since Action1 is a patch management solution, not a full RMM. Also, the built-in software repository could include more applications.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Action1 helps address several critical issues, including fixing vulnerabilities and ensuring consistent software deployment across all endpoints. The endpoint data reporting feature provides valuable insights, while remote support capabilities enhance our ability to assist users quickly. Additionally, Action1 offers alerts for endpoint resource exhaustion, such as RAM usage and disk space, which helps us proactively manage system performance and prevent potential issues.

 ### 40. Great Platform and easy to use.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lowell A. | IT Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 03, 2025

**What do you like best about Action1?**

I like that it is very easy to setup and easy to use and is very generous with it's free plan that allows smaller companies to have the tools they need to secure and support their endpoints that they would not have otherwise. It's patch management works great and has lots of options for accepting or denying updates based on needs. it has good monitoring tools and remote access support options to quickly help end users when needed as well. It helps with device inventory as it tells you the hardware and software info of all devices connected to Action1. I highly recommend it to anyone that wants a simple and highly effective solution for Patch management and with the bonus of also having some basic RMM features.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

I can't think of any major downsides. I do wish it had built-in support for updating the MS 365 desktop apps without having to set it up and configure it manually, though their database is still quite good and growing all the time. Other than that I can't really think of any right now.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is solving the problem of not being able to remotely patch Third party software and makes it quicker and easier to Patch Windows as well. It also makes remote tech support much quicker and easier for the end user and me.

 ### 41. A tool that does the job !

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gregory U. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 12, 2025

**What do you like best about Action1?**

Action1 is a simple, yet, powerful tool to manage a fleet of devices. From the dahsboard, I can get access to the status of my endpoints, if their up-to-date or not, and take actions. It is really simple to use it. It does a few things but it does it very well.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

I would love to have more features built-in.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With this, I can be sure that the endpoints are up-to-date and manage easily when those updates should be applied. I can also have a quick access to reports ( like low disk space and such) and take actions.

 ### 42. Providing excellent value and technical insight to stay ahead of security concerns.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ted K. | Technical Support Specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 27, 2025

**What do you like best about Action1?**

The ability to sort systems into groups can help provide at a glance for Servers (Offsite) for instance. The granular control to segment the org into sub-orgs while not leveraged I could see remote tech managers being promoted to manage their locality in this manner.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

Remote client lacks some advanced options such as back-ground shell or ps live command interface to perform forensics for instance without disturbing active user. The performance has greatly improved so really only minor quibble it copy and pasting to and from local to remote. Likely a result of the remote client interface being web based (thus dependant on web browser lockdown/security measures to block off such clipboard access by default). The clipboard (ctrl-c and ctrl-v copy and pasting) is a bit uneven at least at first - the remote client seems to have a new menu option when right clicking to get around this...The ease and simplicity of the remote instance kick off from action1 dashboard could be streamlined - had to hunt for the link for a few moments and always seems awkward because it is invariably involves a scroll to the right to find it and the computer name doesnt stick on the left side so I lose my place sometimes.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The compliance requirements to patch and or mitigate (with documented steps taken) is made MUCH easier with Action1. The dashboard is a powerful motivator to address the identified security concerns found! The default reports such as Client AV status arrive in a timely manner and a number of customized reports are possible. These can be a valuable source of information for team members who are likely directly affected (disk space or report on all clients reported network connections come to mind so a prepared Team can get ahead of issues).

 ### 43. Easiest Patch Management Tool out there.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Abishai F. | IT Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 09, 2025

**What do you like best about Action1?**

Wanted a Patch Management Tool for App + OS Updates, and from all we tried (Atera, NinjaOne, Solarwinds) Action1 seems to be the best so far.

Ease-of-use (Implementation + Integration included) is great.
No crappy bloatware in the UI.
Documentations are very good that I haven't required to use their Support yet.
Very easy to script in new applications to the repo.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

Only 2 things for now:
1 - MacOS updates are not enabled by default and you need to script it to the machines itself
2 - The Repo is very small.

However the company just started not long ago, and have a whole community roadmap with regular updates, so nothing to whine about there.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Updating Applications + Drivers
Endpoint reports related to what software are being installed, etc.

 ### 44. Review on Action1 Patching Experience

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Terrence A. | Head of IT and IT Security, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2025

**What do you like best about Action1?**

We've been using Action1 Patch Management for several months now, and it's made a significant impact on how we manage endpoint security and compliance. The cloud-native platform is intuitive and doesn't require any complex on-premise infrastructure, which was a big plus for our small IT team.

The real-time visibility and automated patching across Windows and third-party applications help us stay ahead of vulnerabilities without disrupting user productivity. Scheduling is flexible, reporting is clear, and the remote management capabilities are excellent—especially for our hybrid workforce.

Support from the Action1 team has also been prompt and helpful. Overall, this solution has improved our patch compliance rate and saved countless hours of manual effort. Highly recommended for IT teams looking for a cost-effective, scalable patch management tool

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

The only downside is the lack of executive-level reporting. While the technical reports are detailed and useful for IT operations, we would appreciate high-level summaries or dashboards tailored for leadership and compliance reviews.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Action1 helps us solve the challenges of keeping endpoints consistently patched and secure across a distributed workforce.

Before adopting Action1, patching was a time-consuming, manual process, especially with a mix of on-site and remote users. We struggled with visibility, timely deployment of updates, and ensuring third-party apps were patched alongside Windows updates.

Action1 solved these problems by providing:

Centralized cloud-based management – no VPN or on-prem servers needed

Automated patching – reduces human error and saves hours of manual work

Real-time visibility – we can immediately see which devices are missing critical updates

Remote remediation – helpful for supporting remote users without needing physical access

As a result, we’ve significantly increased our patch compliance, reduced risk exposure, and freed up our IT staff to focus on more strategic tasks. It's a major step forward in maintaining cybersecurity hygiene without overloading the team.

 ### 45. Best RMM on the market

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2025

**What do you like best about Action1?**

Action1 RMM is an intuitive and easy-to-use platform that simplifies remote monitoring and management.

One of its standout features is the support for custom repositories, which adds great flexibility to software deployment.

The ability to run custom PowerShell scripts on agents is incredibly powerful, making it easy to automate complex tasks. Additionally, the built-in software vulnerability assessment tool is a fantastic asset for maintaining a secure IT environment.

Highly recommended for IT professionals seeking a robust and user-friendly RMM solution.

What truly sets Action1 apart is that it’s completely free for up to 200 endpoints — a generous offer unmatched by any other competitor in the market. An outstanding solution for IT teams of all sizes!

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

While it may not support as many software titles out of the box as some competitors like ManageEngine Patch Manager Plus, the ability to use a custom repository effectively fills that gap.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Action1 is helping us solve the critical challenge of patch management across our infrastructure of approximately 100 endpoints, including both client machines and servers. As a software development company, maintaining a secure and stable environment is essential—not just for our internal systems, but also to meet the expectations of our clients in terms of data protection and compliance.

Before Action1, patching was time-consuming and inconsistent, especially when dealing with remote or rarely used machines. Now, we can automate and centrally manage patch deployment with full visibility and control, drastically reducing our exposure to vulnerabilities. The cloud-based platform eliminates the need for complex VPN setups or on-prem solutions, which has made the process more efficient and scalable.

Overall, Action1 has significantly improved our ability to respond quickly to security updates, reduced manual effort for our IT team, and increased confidence in the health and compliance of our systems.

 ### 46. Action1 Nails Fast Endpoint Vulnerability Scanning and Patching

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Action1?**

Action1 does one thing and does that well! Scan vulnerable software on end-points and remidiate / patch them fast!

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

That it only does patching and intall / uninstall in the standard configuration. Other remediation involves scripting. It would be nice to have fully managed registry settings / managed config file entries / apply GPOs from the Action1 platform.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Identifying and remediation software vulnerabilities on endpoints.

 ### 47. Patching made easy for non domain joined pc's in different different geographic locations

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** John M. | I.T Administrator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 17, 2024

**What do you like best about Action1?**

Now it is free up to 200 devices. mitigate MS bad patches before they strike.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

Action1 cannot be disliked, it has everything going for remote support spread over vast geographical locations

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Devices are dispersed throughout the country and not on any domain due to internet speed and availability, making this the ideal solution.

 ### 48. I didn't know patching could be so easy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Craig G. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 11, 2025

**What do you like best about Action1?**

The platform is very user-friendly when it comes to patching, making administration simple and ensuring everything stays up to date.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

Difficult to understand how things become critical when it is all automated

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Patch management of endpoints

**Official Response from Kimberly Gonzales:**

> Hi Craig,

We're glad to hear that you find our platform user-friendly for patching! Thanks you for the feedback that the automation process can be confusing at times -- we're always working on improving our platform.

 ### 49. As Action1 themself say : it just works !

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 11, 2024

**What do you like best about Action1?**

Action1 is very simple to implement and to use: configure wich AD OU's your want to monitor in Action. Then put the endpoint in the correct OU and the agent is automatically deployed to the endpoint. The only thing you have to do then, is create the right endpoint groups and couple the correct automation to this group and that's all. From then on all your endpoints are automatically updated.
A second feature we love is the fact that you can - again with the right automation - deploy software to your endpoints. Not only the action1 approved stuff, but you can also create your own packages. And you can also remove a piece of software from all the endpoints you want it removed....with just a few clicks.
They also continuously work on the product. Their roadmap is openly available and customers (even no paying ones) can upvote features.
And last, but not least, their support is great. For the free (100 endpoints) edition, it's via a discord channel, were several members of action1 (Serge and Maria) follow the discussions and try to help. If you're a paying customer, you get direct support by mail. And they respond/help within a few hours (even if you"re a European customer as we).

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

The only minor thing I see when using Action1, is that you can't mix scripts and updates in one automation, nor can you use more than one script in an automation. So If you want to 1) Wake on Lan, then 2) create a snapshot and then 3) run the updates, that"s 3 automations with some "fiddling" in the timings.
But they say they are working on these issues.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Automatically update 3th party apps and windows. F.e. Before action1 it took me almost two days to patch Foxit reader on all our servers. With action1 it happens automatically. Also install/remove software on endpoints is a serious plus. Before Action1 we completely imaged our new endpoints, now we only put windows and some company wide software in the image. The specific stuff per department we're going to deploy ith Action1.

 ### 50. Low Effort. High Return. It just works.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Mental Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 13, 2026

**What do you like best about Action1?**

Low effort. High return. It just works as expected.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

Updating uncommon software takes a while to learn how to do.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Meeting and exceeding requirements to minimize vulnerabilities.
