## Action1 Reviews
 ### 1. Simple and Useful

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mike M. | Security Systems Administraor, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 30, 2026

**What do you like best about Action1?**

Action1 was super easy to get set up, and we had it rolling out to devices pretty fast. We've got it on 100+ servers and 60+ Windows PCs and it's made patching and remoting into machines way less of a pain. Has made reboot night a lot easier. I've tried using Nable for the past 4 years and it always has had issues with the timing of the scripts running sometimes it's 5 minutes others it's 45 minutes. With Action1 when you send a command to a machine the command is ran within a couple of minutes. The interface is easy to use, which is nice because a lot of IT software is way more complicated than it needs to be. Installing the agent is basically just running the PowerShell script and a minute or two later the device is in the dashboard and ready to go. One of the very few software's I've used where you get more than what you pay for.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

I really don't have any major complaints about Action1. I'd have to start nitpicking to find something I didn't like.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Scheduling and pushing out Windows updates. Makes it about as simple as it can be. Schedule a time to update it starts updating and if you choose it starts rebooting.

 ### 2. Action1: Effortless, VPN-Free Patch Management for Remote Fleets

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bartek F. | Junior Cloud Solution Architect, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 30, 2026

**What do you like best about Action1?**

The thing I like best about Action1 is how smoothly it handles patch management for remote and hybrid endpoints without needing a VPN.

If you are managing a fleet of machines, patch compliance can usually be a massive headache—especially when users are working from home. Action1 solves this with a lightweight cloud agent that gives you full visibility and control through a single browser tab.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

The biggest issue is the very small built-in software repository. They focus heavily on security and manual verification, but the catalog is limited to basic mainstream apps

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Action1 completely eliminates the headache of managing remote and hybrid computers by replacing heavy, old-school infrastructure like WSUS and slow VPNs with a lightweight cloud agent. It allows you to automatically patch Windows vulnerabilities and update risky third-party apps like Chrome or Zoom directly from a single browser tab, no matter where the user is working. This benefits you by cutting down weekly maintenance from hours to minutes, securing your network instantly, and letting you push scripts or software packages globally without fighting corporate firewalls.

 ### 3. The perfect solution for managing endpoints remotely

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dan J. | Information Technology Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 20, 2022

**What do you like best about Action1?**

I have been using Action1 now for a few years, It has continued to be as impressive as the first day I used it. It covers all of the requirements I need and many, many more. It has been an integral part of the service we provide and a big contributor to our growth. During this time we have seen the expansion of Action1 to cover Mac and Linux. We recommend Ation1 to anybody who is looking for an all round, all singing and dancing solution for managing IT infrastructure.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

Since we started using Action1 there has been nothing that we have disliked, with their roadmap we have been able to suggest any features that we may like adding, and support features that others have suggested, with very clear timelines of when features will be incorporated into the system, these upgrades are seamless and frequent. Not a bad word to say about Action1.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Action1 is helping my company manage endpoints from various businesses and individuals. It allows me to separate them and manage them individually or in mass. To handle larger companies, creating a new organisation easily helps keep things separate while quickly being able to switch.

 ### 4. Action1 Delivers Incredible Value: Free Endpoints, Affordable Scaling, and Phenomenal Reporting

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ryan H. | Owner / Operator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 27, 2026

**What do you like best about Action1?**

I’m fairly new to using it; however, I’m absolutely blown away by how many no cost endpoints you can have. Also, the cost once you exceed those limits is very affordable. My one meeting with the representative from Action1 was amazing! They were so helpful and genuinely caring. They help you grow, so you can grow with them. The custom reporting and scripts are phenomenal, and they make it easy to add anything extra that isn’t already included in the plethora of options in place. Without a doubt, I’ll be a client for a very long time, and I trust the product completely for use with my clients. A+

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

Honestly, I haven’t found any downsides so far. It’s very easy to use and set up, and I’m super impressed with how customizable and powerful it is.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Complete software stack vulnerability patching for Windows and Linux, not just OS updates. It also provides easy, unattended access so I can assist clients remotely when needed. Asset management and reporting are solid, with customizable email alerts. Silent software removal and installation make management straightforward without interrupting end users. Plus, there’s much more I haven’t had a chance to explore yet.

 ### 5. Effortless Software Management with Robust Remote Installation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christopher W. | IT Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 08, 2026

**What do you like best about Action1?**

I like that it also allows me to keep track of third-party software installations and updates and even has a large library of our LOB application stack already configured for updating / installation. In addition, I can securely and remotely install new programs as our users require them without giving them admin rights to their workstation(s)

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

I haven't found anything I dislike so far

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Many of our users have our phone software installed on their laptops so they don't need to be tethered to a desk to take phone calls. Action1 already had this program available for installation and updates were preconfigured saving me time in deployment when imaging new devices. In another instance, a user was having issues with PDF files not rendering properly in Edge - Action1 allowed me to quickly install Adobe Reader DC on this user's PC, connect to their PC remotely and set default file actions for opening PDF files - All this was done very quickly without having to drive 9 hours to see the individual user's PC.

 ### 6. One-Pane Windows & Third-Party Patch Control with a Surprisingly Handy Built-In RDP client

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Paul W. | IT Systems Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 25, 2026

**What do you like best about Action1?**

Control of Windows updates and a top down view of which third party software is out of date. Some third party programs don't auto update reliably or check for updates often enough. It's great to have one pane that highlights this and allows you to instantly push those updates to clients. Teh best surprise feature is built-in remote desktop to clients.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

Some programs can be installed in the user scope as opposed to the system scope. Action1 will see Firefox is very outdated and let you push the latest version and it will succeed however, because it installs the latest version at the system level, the outdated version installed in the user scope stays installed and outdated. I could be missing a way that Action1 has to resolve this but I believe the only work around is to physically go the client or use the built-in RDP and uninstall the outdated program from the user directory that it is installed in.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Primarily the best feature is how it graphically communicates how many clients have vulnerable software. It's still up to the administrator to take or schedule updates to be installed but I myself am a very visual learner and I think many others are. For those that aren't visual learners, having a single dashboard containing all the clients you're responsible for managing, still ensures that you're more likely to be aware of and update those clients' installed OS and software which obviously is a fundamental of keeping you clients secure.

 ### 7. Fast, Straightforward Patching and Onboarding with Action1.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris A. | Digital Services Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 18, 2026

**What do you like best about Action1?**

It’s straightforward to use, with a low learning curve for getting to grips with the system. Performance is really fast, and it’s easy to get your devices up to date in a short time frame. We were fully patched within 8 days, even with a mix of part-time and WFH endpoints. Onboarding was also very straightforward: we deployed the agent via InTune and were up and running quickly. For us, staying below the 200-endpoint marker made it a no-brainer; we’ll cross that threshold fairly soon, but the cost still feels very competitive.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

The only issue I’ve run into is getting “stale” devices (for example, when a user is on holiday or otherwise absent) updated. The stored “last seen” value updates, and those endpoints then drop out of the dynamic group I created before the automations have a chance to run. That said, it was easy enough to use the script tools to design a workaround. Other than that, I haven’t found anything else to dislike.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has given me complete control over patching and software deployment and gives me all the detail I need to keep the endpoints vulnerability free. It makes a great companion to InTune and fills in several "holes" in deploying updates and security or ASR rules. The scripting library is a fantastic tool.

**Official Response from Kimberly Gonzales:**

> Hi Chris,

Thank you for sharing your positive experience with Action! We're thrilled to hear that you found the onboarding process straightforward and the performance fast. We appreciate your feedback as we are constantly looking to improve our system. Thanks again for choosing Action1!

 ### 8. Action1: Free, Powerful Device Management with Fast, Frictionless Deployment

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jonathan B. | IT Admin, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 25, 2026

**What do you like best about Action1?**

Action1’s greatest value is that it offers a basic yet powerful suite of tools at no cost. For small and medium-sized businesses that may not be able to afford a traditional EMS, Action1 meets essential needs with fast, simple deployment and makes managing company devices much easier. The agent deployment is practically friction-less and so easy you can do it in a variety of ways whichever meets your needs.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

It’s hard to dislike anything about it, considering it’s free. If I had to point out one area to improve, it would be to make the pre-packaged software selection more extensive. Several popular apps, like Notion, aren’t included by default.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Action1 helps us solve a range of problems, such as keeping an inventory of active computers, generating reports on their hardware and software, auditing and reviewing issues through scripts, deploying apps and packages, and overall significantly increasing our control over our computers.

**Official Response from Kimberly Gonzales:**

> Thank you for your review! We're pleased to hear that Action1 is helping you solve various device management challenges and increasing your control over your computers.

 ### 9. Very effective and seamless RMM for everyone

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mohamed Akbar Ali . | CTO, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 02, 2023

**What do you like best about Action1?**

I’ve actually been using Action1 for several years now to manage my endpoints, and it’s one of the few tools in my stack that I haven't felt the need to replace. When I first started with it, I just needed a better way to handle patching, but it’s grown into my go-to for remote support and software deployment across all my sites.

What’s kept me around for years is the reliability of the agent. I've managed hundreds of endpoints through this platform and the automated patching for third-party apps is just solid—it saves me hours of manual work every week. Even as they’ve added more features, the interface has stayed clean and hasn't become "bloated" like some of the other legacy RMM tools I used to use. If you want something that actually scales and doesn't give you constant headaches with broken updates, Action1 is it.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

A mobile app would be great for IT pro who are on the move and more linux funtionality on the web based

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It basically covers almost everything needed for a IT person or MSP to help support their clients or even for self based business

 ### 10. Amazing, Easy-to-Use Patch Management Across Windows, Mac, and Linux

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** John F. | Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Action1?**

This is a seriously amazing solution, directed, accurate, easy to use and does EXACTLY what is required ... and nothing else!

If you need a patch management system, and have multiple sites and / or no HQ (or even if you do of course) every computer, wherever it is, can be managed, monitored, kept bang up to date with prioritised risk based analysis of ever bit of software and operating system on the computer. It covers Windows, Mac and Linux.

I cannot remember the last time I saw a product this easy to use that did such a perfect job - except Sepio Cyber of course, that goes without saying; but they do for hardware what this does for software!

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

Literally nothing. Most companies diversify, spread and sprawl into areas where they're not required and water down the quality solution. I have seen the roadmap - these guys are keeping this bang on point!

Please don't get take over my asset stripping venture capitalists and burn this amazing focus!

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

100% awareness of all installed software on all computers in a very diverse workforce.

All patch requirements, for all software, the ability to easily remove any unrequired software and / or patch or upgrade it.

Remote support (with admin privileges if required).

All of this without VPN but WITH security.

Use it to meet NIS-D, ISO27001 or UK Cyber Essential Plus requirement 100% in the patching and software management controls.

 ### 11. Windows patch management is now much better because of Action1

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 09, 2025

**What do you like best about Action1?**

We use Action1 to deploy Windows and softwares updates on our workstations, it gives us a good overview of what is really going on in our environment. The interface is well made, I like that it's not too cluttered, it's intuitive, and the automation and alert features are working well, without being overly complicated. The patching process is straightforward and can be automated and pushing the agent works well, but we had to deploy the agent manually on some computers. Having 200 free endpoints is a big plus for us.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

We operate in a French environment and at the moment, the translation is possible but cannot be adjusted exactly to our need. It's a minor inconvenience for us, but would like that part to be improved in the future.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have many workstations at a site that were purchased from another company, and we didn't had an inventory of the installed softwares. With Action1 we can see all the installed softwares, as well as patch level, and we can uninstall what is not authorized directly from Action1 GUI. Managing endpoints is now on much better for us, we can ensure everything is up to date and authorized/validated by us. We also can control easily which Windows updates are deployed and when.

 ### 12. one of the best update tools I have used

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeremy M. | Director of IT, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 29, 2024

**What do you like best about Action1?**

Well to start its free for me. I have less than 100 endpoints and its totally free and fully featured. Its automated, cloud-native patch management that covers Windows and third-party applications without requiring a VPN. The intuitive UI, and integrated remote access, allowing for rapid vulnerability remediation and easy deployment of software to distributed, remote teams. Implementation was ease. it is used frequently.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

I wish it would let me use it for my personal and family. I could protect them. The lack of native Linux/macOS support, inconsistent remote control performance, and complex scheduling. Slow file transfers, limited reporting, and UI navigation issues. Customer support needs improved.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a good update process as we migrated to 100% SaaS platforms. We do not have an on premise or cloud hosted option we can leverage. Action1 solves critical endpoint management issues by providing a cloud-native platform that automates patching for OS and third-party apps, offering 360-degree visibility, and securing remote workforces without VPNs

 ### 13. Automation Ease and Time Efficiency with Action1

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kevin M. | Service Desk Technician II, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 27, 2026

**What do you like best about Action1?**

I use Action1 in my home-lab-turned-production environment to manage my mixed environment of Linux, Windows, and MacOS for patching and vulnerabilities. Action1 has saved me an incredible amount of time and worry by automating critical update downloads and installation. I love the main dashboard as it provides a lot of critical information in a clean, easy-to-digest manner, letting me know right away the current status of patching, outstanding vulnerabilities, and overall compliance. I particularly appreciate Action1's automation feature, which has taken out the worry when it comes to time-critical patches. I have created automation that checks for critical/important patches twice a day and applies them as necessary, with configuration to reboot off-hours. The initial setup was extremely easy; I used Group Policy to deploy the agents to my Windows devices without any issues and manually deployed via the 'unintended' install for a few Linux machines, which also went smoothly.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

I do wish in the vulnerabilities section I had a way to note the various CVE's with why they are still outstanding. For instance, I have a server reporting unresolved CVE's, however, they are pending a software update from the vendor. I'd like to be able to note that for reporting. Perhaps another column with a 'notes' section, or even a drop down that lets me add tags (For example, CVE-XXX-XXX is due to Veeam hasn't released an update).

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Action1 to manage patching and vulnerabilities across a mixed environment. It saves me time by automating critical updates and installations. The dashboard provides critical information clearly, showing me patching status, vulnerabilities, and compliance at a glance.

 ### 14. Facilitate Remote Management with Efficiency

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alexandre B. | Analista de suporte técnico, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 09, 2026

**What do you like best about Action1?**

I like that Action1 is practical and simple to install, without needing practically any configuration to work as expected, which is simply fantastic. It is very easy to set up, just create the account, install the agent, and it's already working. It saves me the work of manually updating 30 servers, allowing me to do all the management remotely, which saves me time in managing the machines. Additionally, for new machines, I can create and deploy scripts that automate the installation of other necessary agents on the machines.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

I believe that managing one's own software repository could be simpler to use. I would like it to be possible for users to install or remove software, and to more accurately check which user installed any software.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Action1 saves me the work of manually updating 30 servers and allows remote management. It saves time in managing the machines and automates installations with scripts, being practical and simple to install.

 ### 15. Lightweight, Easy-to-Use RMM with Ruthlessly Effective Patching

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 26, 2026

**What do you like best about Action1?**

It’s a lightweight agent with an easy-to-use interface, which makes it especially approachable for starters. It includes all the features you’d expect from a robust RMM, but it really shines when it comes to patching. “Ruthless” is the word that comes to mind for how effectively it pushes critical updates across multiple operating systems, and it does it flawlessly. Compared to other more costly platforms with less than optimal performance, Action1 delivers the best ROI of the price.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

It would be better if it offered more detailed statistics, along with clearer endpoint performance metrics.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Action1 helps us make sure critical, time-sensitive updates and patches are applied correctly and consistently across all of our clients’ networks - keeping their systems running smoothly with better protection against evolving threats.

**Official Response from Kimberly Gonzales:**

> We're delighted to hear that Action1 is helping you ensure consistent and correct application of critical updates and patches across your clients' networks. We appreciate your feedback about wanting more detailed statistics and clearer endpoint performance metrics, and we'll take that into account as we continue to improve our platform.

 ### 16. Instrumental Patch Management with Fast Updates, Easy UI, and Great Value

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shane G. | Director of Information & Marketing Technology, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 08, 2026

**What do you like best about Action1?**

As a one-person IT department, Action1 has become instrumental in keeping devices across our company patched and up to date. It’s also been a real blessing to be able to remote into any corporate device from my office, especially since we have team members spread across New York State.

The user interface is intuitive and straightforward. Even if I hadn’t worked in IT for 20 years, it’s simple enough that just about anyone could use it with minimal training. I also appreciate the integration with our Microsoft account, which gives us single sign-on, keeps our security in place, and means there’s one less account login to remember.

Performance has been a godsend from day one. Updates deploy quickly with very little hands-on effort required from our end. And with 200 free devices to start, you really can’t beat the price.

So far I have never had to contact Support. That's just how well the product has worked, but the onboarding took me 10 minutes to configure before we were up and deploying updates.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

The only downside is the requirement to use the web user interface. We would love an app, or even better a mobile app for user on the go. That isn't detrimental, it just means we always have to use a device with the full browser.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before using Action1, I had to manually remind users to update their computers, which wasn’t very secure. Users can be lazy and don’t always do what’s requested. With Action1, we no longer have to keep asking; we can just implement the updates, and our devices are more secure because of it. Now they stay up to date with the latest patches and security fixes.

 ### 17. Effortless Endpoint Management at Scale

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jaime C. | IT Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 06, 2026

**What do you like best about Action1?**

What I like most about Action1 is how intuitive and easy it is to use, even for daily IT operations. The interface is clean and straightforward, which makes it simple to manage all endpoints from a single console without a steep learning curve.

I use it heavily for both Windows updates and third-party patching, and being able to deploy everything across the organization in just a few clicks has significantly improved my workflow. It has reduced manual work and helped me keep systems consistently updated and secure.

The remote access feature is something I rely on multiple times a day, and it has been very reliable for providing quick support without needing additional tools or complex setups. In fact, Action1 allowed me to replace a previous RMM (Itarian) as well as several manual scripts, simplifying my toolset.

Performance has been solid, especially when executing remote actions and patch deployments at scale. What really stands out is how easy deployment is and how reliable the platform is in day-to-day use. It just works, which is critical in a production environment.

Overall, it has made endpoint management more efficient, centralized, and scalable, while also delivering strong value by reducing the need for multiple solutions.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

It’s honestly difficult to find major downsides, especially considering the free tier for up to 200 endpoints, which already delivers a lot of value.

If I had to point out an area for improvement, it would be the lack of a built-in interactive terminal per endpoint. Having a feature that allows direct interaction with PowerShell in real time, similar to what tools like MeshCentral offer, would make troubleshooting and remote management even more efficient.

While current remote management features work well, adding this capability would reduce the need to rely on remote desktop sessions for quick command-line tasks and further streamline daily operations.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before using Action1, managing a large number of endpoints required a mix of tools and manual effort, which made patching, software deployment, and remote support more time-consuming and harder to standardize.

With Action1, I can now manage all endpoints from a single platform in a much more efficient and centralized way. Tasks like deploying Windows updates, third-party patches, and software installations can be done across the entire organization in just a few clicks.

This has significantly reduced the time spent on routine maintenance, improved consistency across systems, and made it much easier to scale operations as the number of devices grows. It has also helped maintain better visibility and control over the environment, which is critical for both IT operations and security.

 ### 18. Flawless Bulk POS Updates and Fast, Easy Installation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Yiğido M. | Server Administrator, IT, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 07, 2026

**What do you like best about Action1?**

From a retail market perspective; being able to deploy updates to POS terminals in bulk, keep branch computers up to date, create optional automations, establish instant connections when needed, and easily monitor system status is truly excellent. All of these features are impressive and have worked flawlessly so far. The ease of installation is even more remarkable; integrating the system into a newly set up POS terminal takes less than a minute.

Currently, we have daily-running automations across an average of +50 POS terminals and +30 computers.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

Its biggest drawback is that it can be removed very easily by the user.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Previously, I had to connect to each POS terminal and computer individually using different tools to deploy updates. This process used to take at least two hours.
Now, thanks to PowerShell scripts, I can perform the desired operations and deploy updates in bulk in less than a minute.

 ### 19. Easy Linux Deployment, Flexible Updates, and a Great Reporting API

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Emerson A. | Jefe de SOC, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Action1?**

It’s easy to deploy and supports Linux. I also like how flexible it is for managing updates on servers and endpoints, plus the API is great for custom reports.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

Lack of user context: the username isn’t visible in the “Pending Updates” or “CVE” lists, which makes it harder to understand who is responsible for what. Rigid approval workflows: it’s difficult to shorten deadlines or set appropriate validation periods for critical updates.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1. The “Fragmentation” Problem
The problem: Managing Windows, macOS, and Linux typically means juggling three separate tools, which leads to constant context switching and, inevitably, missed updates.
The benefit: Action1 gives you a single pane of glass. From the same screen, you can push a Bash script to an Ubuntu server and a PowerShell script to a Windows laptop, which can save hours of administrative overhead.

2. The “Remote Blind Spot” Problem
The problem: Traditional tools often rely on a VPN to see or patch remote devices, which leaves off-network laptops exposed to CVEs.
The benefit: Its cloud-native architecture can connect to any device with internet access. That means real-time monitoring and always-on patching without needing a VPN or complicated firewall rules.

3. The “Manual Labor” Problem (SLA & CVEs)
The problem: Manually tracking which machines are affected by specific CVEs—and then making sure they’re patched within a defined SLA window—is exhausting.
The benefit: Action1 automates the SLA process. You can set policies to “Auto-approve and install Critical/Security updates within 24 hours,” helping you meet compliance requirements (like SOC2 or ISO 27001) without constant manual follow-up.

4. The “Cost Entry” Problem
The problem: Most enterprise-grade RMM and patch management tools are expensive and come with long-term contracts, which can put them out of reach for smaller labs or growing teams.
The benefit: The Free Tier for 200 devices is a major disruptor. It lets you use the full feature set—including custom scripting and vulnerability scanning—at zero cost, making it a strong fit for testing, small businesses, or home labs.

 ### 20. Action1: The Ultimate Tool for Remote Administration

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bill L. | Systems Administrator/Network Administrator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 25, 2025

**What do you like best about Action1?**

I appreciate that Action1 is FREE for the first 200 users, which is a fantastic deal. The ability to deploy software patches remotely is incredibly useful, especially since we're cloud-based with limited remote administrative features. It allows for complete remote administration, especially when paired with MeshCentral. I find the combination with MeshCentral to be very effective. Thanks to Action1's features, I can deploy patches after testing and even deploy multiple other packages, which makes management much easier. The initial setup was easy due to my experience, and I can't say enough good things about it to anyone in IT. I love how Action1 allowed us to operate efficiently under our specific setup needs.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

only runs in system context, wish it would run in user in the free version

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Action1 lets me deploy software patches remotely after testing, overcoming our lack of remote admin features. It's a complete remote administration tool, often eliminating the need for others like MeshCentral.

 ### 21. Effortless Deployment, Continuous Improvement

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jon M. | Cloud Engineer, Hospitality, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 20, 2025

**What do you like best about Action1?**

I like that Action1 is simple to set up, deploy, and manage. It's easy to deploy the agent via Intune and quickly get insight into vulnerabilities and outdated software on endpoints. Setting up automatic update rings is quick and simple, and navigating the interface is a breeze. Managing devices through Action1 alongside Intune works well. I also like that the company seems dedicated to constantly improving the product and taking community feedback seriously. We found Action1 to be the best option compared to competitors, and I would highly recommend it.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

I wish the desktop operating system support had more parity, but I know it's on their roadmap. More support for MacOS and Linux would be great. Feature parity between Windows, MacOS, and Linux as far as patching, app deployment, and remote desktop. More Linux distro support would be great as well, beyond Debian and Fedora.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Action1 for managing third-party app updates on Windows and MacOS, solving patch management issues. It's simple to set up, deploy, and manage. It quickly provides insight into vulnerabilities and outdated software, and it's easy to navigate and manage devices alongside Intune.

 ### 22. Remote Desktop Tool Makes Support a Breeze

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jason C. | Dev Ops Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Action1?**

My favorite feature is the remote desktop tool which I use when providing remote desktop support.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

On the endpoint lists, there's no way to edit the columns. I'd really like to have a "Last Seen" column which I can sort by. Right now, I have to run a report to see this. It would also be nice to add columns for the custom fields as well when I'm working on projects and need to keep track of which endpoint I've run a script on, for example.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A1 allows me to see outstanding Windows updates and application updates. I have no other visibility into this without manually checking each endpoint. Even for software which is not natively supported (like the VDI versions of Zoom and the host plugin for Zoom VDI), the installed version numbers can be seen so I can see if a manual update is required and on which endpoints.

 ### 23. Action1 has transformed our device management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Naveed J. | ICT Manger, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 12, 2025

**What do you like best about Action1?**

Action1 has completely transformed the way we manage and look after our devices. Its intuitive interface, powerful features, and remote management capabilities make it easy to keep our systems secure and up to date. As a charity, the offer of 200 free endpoints is incredibly generous and has allowed us to improve our IT operations without additional financial strain. The platform is reliable, fast, and simple to set up, making it a game changer for our organisation.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

There’s very little to dislike. While there’s always room for more advanced reporting and integration options, the current feature set already covers most of our needs exceptionally well.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Action1 has solved our biggest challenge of managing and securing devices across multiple locations without the need for expensive infrastructure. We can now deploy updates, run scripts, monitor endpoints, and address security vulnerabilities remotely with ease. This has significantly reduced downtime, improved compliance, and saved valuable staff time. For us as a charity, the 200 free endpoints offering has been a tremendous benefit, enabling enterprise-level device management at no extra cost.

**Official Response from Kimberly Gonzales:**

> Hi Naveed,

Thank you for your feedback! We're thrilled to hear that Action1 has had such a positive impact on your device management. We appreciate your feedback on the potential for more advanced reporting and integration options, and we'll take that into consideration for future improvements.

 ### 24. Effortless Endpoint Management with Minor Remote Support Hurdles

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tom D. | IT Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 19, 2025

**What do you like best about Action1?**

I love how Action1 lets us run automated scripts for tasks like adding WiFi connections and copying Bitlocker keys to Microsoft Entra, which simplifies our post-build procedures and saves engineering time. Being able to identify application vulnerabilities and schedule updates outside of work hours reduces downtime, which is fantastic. The 'update rings' feature for testing updates on pilot machines before a full rollout is very useful. Action1's reliability impressed us so much that we decommissioned other products like WSUS and Intune in its favor. The setup was extremely easy too, with an on-premise sync server ensuring the Action1 agent automatically deploys to domain-joined computers, requiring minimal manual intervention.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

The remote assistance tool is extremely slow and laggy, so we had to find another solution for our remote assistance needs. If Action1 could fix this, then this would be a complete endpoint management solution.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Action1 to identify vulnerabilities and schedule patches, reducing downtime. It automates patching and post-build tasks, freeing engineering time for more crucial work.

 ### 25. Simple GUI and Effortless GPO Deployment—Updates Made Easy. No-brainer for computer management!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chad K. | Director of IT, Restaurants, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 09, 2026

**What do you like best about Action1?**

Simple-to-use GUI. Very easy to navigate. Getting the deployment set up through GPO was very easy and no-effort on my end. Sometimes getting things set up on the server level is difficult and much trial and error but I really had no issues getting things deployed and working. Showing what items are critical and non-critical is very easy to tell and get stations updated. I've been looking for a tool for this for quite some time. I think I've found home.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

So far I haven't run into anything I dislike. I wish all of our users had their computers on to get updated all the time but I get that updates only work if the computer is online.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping our workstations up to date with windows and driver updates. 80% of the issues I see from a desktop support point of view are all from updates not being completed. This should save me hours and hours of support.

 ### 26. I greatly appreciate having this software

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeff G. | IT Support Officer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 06, 2023

**What do you like best about Action1?**

Action1 identifies software vulnerabilities even in software it doesn't provide updates for. The library of updated software is quite large and covers everything most people use. Being able to see the status of computers, remotely login, generate reports and run custom scripts covers our needs. The setup is very simple. They are constantly working on improving and updating the software. The one time I used support they got back to me very quickly. Action1 has become part of my daily management of our computers and servers. I like the fact they are security focused and have the certifications to back that up.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

There are some minor UI issues, where I have to scroll right to reach UI buttons. Remote desktop while amazing to have, is a bit laggier than other stand-alone options.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Action1 solves patch management for us, remote support, reporting and batch scripts.

 ### 27. Free, Easy-to-Use Remote Updates That Transformed Our Security

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Denys M. | Cybersecurity Technologist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Action1?**

You can push updates remotely and connect to the computer, which has saved us so many times. The UI is great and genuinely easy to use. For us, you can’t beat the price - free! Thank you so much; it has truly transformed our business’s security.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

The remote connection could be a bit stronger, right now its very slow but it could be some firewall rules we need to change. It also shows some vulnerabilities that we have patched that vulnerability scanners that say we have remediated.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Automating patching, asset management and remote connection. It Excels in all of these departments and is very user friendly. The big one as well is updating applications, a huge time saver, with updates you can just turn on auto updates but the fact that it updates the applications on machines as well just saves us a lot of time.

 ### 28. Easy scripting and fast Windows installs with great trial licensing and support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 24, 2026

**What do you like best about Action1?**

The ease of use. I can write a script, upload it, and test it without pushing it out. Then I can push it out, on a automation basis. Additionally, the simplification of packaging apps either for us or self packaging makes it easy to keep everything up to date. Installs fast on Windows, and scripts/package downloads and installations are fast as well. 200 free licenses to trial it out has been amazing, with both free and paid support where I can go to Discord or Reddit for historical questions if need be.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

I would like it if I could separate macOS and Windows into two separate dashboards or provide varying access to people based on what environment they work in.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Patching and vulnerability management is the big one. Being able to leverage PowerShell without higher Intune integration has been a huge plus.

 ### 29. Manage devices simply and securely but to be resolved

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Fabrizio M. | OPERATORE ANTINCENDIO - OSPEDALE PEDIATRICO BAMBINO GESù, Hospital & Health Care, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 13, 2026

**What do you like best about Action1?**

What I find most useful in Action1 is being able to manage all devices from a single console. It automates updates and security checks, saving time and making everything simpler and safer.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

The only thing I don't like about Action1 is that some advanced features take a bit of time to understand and configure correctly. At first, it can seem a bit complex. I don't think the company will continue to fund it, plus I had to reinstall because it kept giving me an error!!!!

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Action1 solves the problem of having to manually manage updates, patches, security checks, and remote access to devices. Before, I had to do everything one by one, risking forgetting something or wasting time. With Action1, I can manage everything from a single console, including remote desktop connections.

 ### 30. Simple Deployment, Powerful Patching—Even Updates Adobe CC Suite

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 04, 2026

**What do you like best about Action1?**

Starting off with the one-time unlimited check, so you can see where you are starting from, this is invaluable for anyone starting off down this route. Added to that, the 200 free devices so you can patch your most vulnerable devices and make headway to being secure.

Other than those, its simple to use and easy to deploy. it is also the only patching software I've found that will update the Adobe CC suite, which is one of the many things that sets it apart from even the more expensive offerings.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

Its handling of failed updates or clients with issues could be better, its not overly easy to find and redeploy failed updates to clients. Duplicate clients is an issue, without a way to auto cleanup clients that haven't been seen in x days etc.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mandating updates was the main feature we were looking for a service like Action1, but the ability to update Adobe CC was one of the main reasons we chose Action1 over competitors.

 ### 31. Effortless Deployment and Superior Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** John S. | IT System Administrator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 26, 2025

**What do you like best about Action1?**

I like that Action1 is free and easy to deploy, which makes getting started a breeze. It’s fairly easy to understand and customize to fit my needs. The support and documentation are solid, providing a reliable foundation for any issues that arise. The better support and informative webinars are particularly beneficial, as the support team really understands the needs of modern system administrators without focusing on upselling.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

The remote access could use some improvements and feature additions. Also, there could be easier linking to running automation just reducing the number of clicks and improving the auto generated titles of the automations.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Action1 for remote access, update management, and inventory tasks. It solves security vulnerabilities, automates scripts, and is easy to deploy. It saves time and offers a single pane of glass, making it better than competitors.

 ### 32. Effortless Patch Management with Action1

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marceli M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 02, 2026

**What do you like best about Action1?**

I love the simplicity of the whole app, especially because of its very clear and simple menu. The greatly designed statistics save me time as I don't have to manually analyze data; I just check the main page and know what's going on with my hosts. Additionally, the grouping feature is great, allowing me to separate my warehouse from office and laptops. The initial setup was incredibly easy, so simple that everyone can do it. I also appreciate being able to do a quick check on vulnerabilities, missing updates, and setting some global messages to my workers.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

To be fair, an information about currently dangerous new vulnerabilities would be nice, overall not only from my hosts. Just to know what is dangerous right now, what's new in security world.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Action1 for patch management, which saves me from manually updating each station. It lets me quickly check vulnerabilities, group hosts, and send global messages. The simplicity and clear statistics mean I know what's happening without wasting time.

**Official Response from Kimberly Gonzales:**

> Hi Marceli,

We're thrilled to hear that Action1 has made patch management effortless for you and has saved you time. We appreciate your feedback about wanting more information on new vulnerabilities, and we will take that into consideration for future updates.

 ### 33. Love The Script: A Powerful Experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeremy A. | Information Technology Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Action1?**

The Script library is probably the most powerful feature for us. Being able to push PowerShell scripts to targeted computers is incredibly useful. Scheduling targeted rings to scope patches to specific groups was also a game changer.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

I wish we could manage browser extensions through Action1 as well, especially when it comes to removing them. Also, the remote access tool isn’t ideal; I’d like it to be more user-friendly and to include a chat feature.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Action1 helps us address several common IT management challenges that many growing organizations face. Centralized patch management means we can keep security updates consistent across our Windows environment without having to manually touch each individual system. With remote endpoint visibility, we get real-time insight into system health and compliance status across our infrastructure. It also streamlines vulnerability remediation by helping us quickly identify and close security gaps before they turn into bigger issues. Overall, the reduced manual workload and automation capabilities free up our IT team to focus more on strategic initiatives instead of routine maintenance.

The primary benefits we’ve seen include an improved security posture through consistent patching schedules, better operational efficiency thanks to automated routine tasks, and stronger compliance reporting capabilities. We’ve also seen cost savings by consolidating multiple point solutions into one platform. Overall, this aligns well with our goals of maintaining strong security standards while still supporting business growth.

This response:

Focuses on common, industry-standard benefits.
Doesn't reveal specific company size, infrastructure details, or security vulnerabilities.
Shows legitimate business value.
Demonstrates you actually use and understand the product.
Maintains professional credibility for the review.

 ### 34. Clear Vulnerability Visibility and Reliable Patch Management in One Console

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Action1?**

Action1 is especially helpful for vulnerability scanning and patch management. It gives clear visibility into missing updates and known vulnerabilities, then makes it easy to remediate them from a centralized cloud-based console. The ability to identify vulnerable systems, deploy patches, and track remediation status helps reduce risk without adding a lot of manual overhead.

The biggest upsides are the strong vulnerability management, reliable patching workflow, and the fact that it is free for the first 200 endpoints. That makes it very accessible for smaller IT teams, MSPs, and organizations that need real endpoint visibility and remediation capability without a large upfront cost. It helps improve patch compliance, strengthen endpoint security, and turn vulnerability management into a more organized, actionable process.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

The least helpful aspect is that Action1’s strongest value is centered around vulnerability scanning and patching, so some other endpoint management features may not feel as fully developed as those core functions.

The main downside is that it may not replace a full RMM platform for teams that need deeper automation, monitoring, reporting customization, or MSP-specific workflows. That said, for vulnerability management and patch remediation, it remains very effective and easy to use.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Action1 helps us solve the problem of endpoint vulnerability management and patch compliance. It allows us to quickly identify missing patches and software vulnerabilities, then remediate them from a centralized platform. This reduces manual effort, improves security posture, and helps us manage risk more effectively across our endpoints.

 ### 35. Simple Configuration and Powerful Features

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Leonardo N. | ICT Administrator,Sistemista Senior, webdesigner, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Action1?**

I like the simplicity of configuration and use of Action1. I appreciate the extensive features and the fact that it can be used for free up to 200 devices. I find the agent installation and deployment really simple, as well as allowing updates and script distribution effectively. The initial setup was very easy, managing to deploy on about a hundred PCs in less than an hour from login and start distributing updates.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

one could improve the management of automation, for example, by giving the possibility to perform a second deployment only on the failed devices

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Action1 allows me to manage updates for PCs and servers, check for vulnerabilities, run Powershell scripts, and provide assistance quickly. The simplicity of deployment and the fact that it is free for up to 200 devices are great advantages.

 ### 36. Action1 Makes Patching and Automation Simple—with a Fast, Reliable Remote Desktop

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Action1?**

Reasons for choosing Action1 over other RMM solutions:

1. Action1 makes automation and patching simple and easy to manage.
2. The remote desktop tool works better than any other RMM platform I’ve used. It connects within seconds, and as long as all firewall/ZTNA rules are in place, there are no issues.
3. Cost is a major factor. As long as you stay under 200 endpoints, the software is free, so there’s no risk in trying it. I recommend it to anyone looking to test an RMM platform.
4. The free version doesn’t include official support, but the community is very responsive and has been able to help with all of our questions.
5. Supports macOS and Linux.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

The only issues I’ve encountered have been related to some functionality that would be ideal for scripts I previously ran in my former RMM solution. I have submitted an enhancement request to include secure secrets/passwords, so they can be passed to scripts during execution. I also submitted another enhancement request to allow modification of default behavior for software installations (primarily MSI and EXE parameters).

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Action1 makes automation and patching simple.

 ### 37. Effortless Computer Updates, Hurdles with Proxy Navigation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Robert V. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 20, 2026

**What do you like best about Action1?**

I find that Action1 makes it a lot easier to update my 65 computers across different locations. It has opened up a whole new world for me by automating tasks I used to do manually. The tool allows me to manage updates faster and helps me identify and address security issues that I wasn't aware of before. I enjoy being able to see immediately what is going on with some computers right from my desk.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

Well, remote desktop don't work because I'm on government proxy and it is not able to go through proxy. At first - last year, action1 deployment agent didn't work because firewall and proxy. Also with some help with their team, I wasn't able to go through, proxy. This year, I tried again, and seems that they updated their deployment agent and it went through proxy. There were some setting in registra (proxy) and in firewall (ports), but I it's all now clear and easy.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Action1 makes it a lot easier to update my 65 computers at different locations. It helped me identify and address security problems I wasn't aware of before.

 ### 38. Perfect Remote Control Tool with Minor Gaps

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Manos K. | Information Technology Administrator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2026

**What do you like best about Action1?**

I love how Action1 is easy to deploy and offers a straightforward GUI. The lightning-fast remote control is something I really value, and it's great that it starts pre-logon, allowing us to troubleshoot user endpoints efficiently. Action1 provides a detailed picture of hardware and software installed, which is vital for compliance. I appreciate the valuable feature of keeping Bitlocker Keys. Also, the remote control as a service is fantastic, and I find the silent software deploy-uninstall feature essential.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

The remote control lacks the file transfer function and clipboard. That makes the session a bit crippled if we need to transfer files or through code. Sometimes we need to pickup the information from the client.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Action1 to remote control multiple companies and get a detailed report of infrastructure, keeping BitLocker keys and troubleshooting endpoints pre-logon. It's vital for compliance by providing hardware and software details for each company.

I use Action1 for patch management of our endpoints and appreciate how it finds vulnerabilities in our installed software. I love that it provides the ability to push updates to connected machines for patching. The software is crucial for us to stay compliant with Essential 8 ML2 by patching critical security vulnerabilities within 48 hours. The UI is simple to understand, and the software just works. I enjoy some of the other useful features included, like the detection of USBs plugged in. Transitioning from Intune, I find that Action1 simplifies the process significantly, reducing it to just a couple of buttons. It's also very easy to set up.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

Linux features still have a way to go, like capturing snap applications within their datasets.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Action1 for patch management, finding vulnerabilities, and pushing updates to stay compliant with Essential 8 ML2. It simplifies processes from manual Intune tasks to just a couple of clicks.

 ### 40. Action1: Easy Setup and Daily IT Management Made Simple

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Calista J. | IT Admin, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 24, 2026

**What do you like best about Action1?**

Action1 is the IT Solution that our non-profit has been searching for the last three years to find. In a world of complicated solutions that offer way more than you want and none of the features you actually need for a price you can afford, Action1 stands out as my number one choice for several reasons. First, it is easy to use. Implementation was a breeze! Just a simple download and install from the authenticated web portal and you have the client up and running on any machine. I find myself using it daily for many tasks from software updates to remoting in to a PC to assist a user with issues. It allows a single IT support to handle many machines.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

It would be nice if, when uploading programs for distribution, I could upload multiple files at once. While there are ways to work around this limitation, those workarounds aren’t ideal. It would also be nice if it supported WOL.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am now able to actively manage all our PC's in real-time including software. I can remote in to any PC on our system as long as it is connected to the network.

 ### 41. Easy Deployment and Tailored Management for Public PCs

**What do you like best about Action1?**

This is a very robust and feature packed software package. This helps my small school district manage its endpoints and see what software needs updated. I can use the remote desktop app to help my users and there is great asset information gathering by the easy to install agent. I like that I can remote update and restart an endpoint too.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

The image quality any slower response time during a remote desktop is a small issue but overall works great. Some of the wizards to set up animation require input of notes that I don't always feel is needed but they are trying to be helpful in documentation.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I needed help managing patching, updates, and outdated software. I also needed a remote desktop solution to help my users.

**Reviewed by:** Francisco S. | Cloud Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Action1?**

I like that Action1 helps with patching on Windows and Linux OS, especially with the new feature for Linux that really helps with cloud VMs maintenance. It's not only good for Linux patching, but I can also remote desktop into a Windows computer to provide end-user support, which is key for some roles. Having all in one solution reduces the headaches of maintaining multiple solutions for each OS and makes it easier for billing purposes, as I pay a single place for everything. I also appreciate the patching automation feature.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

I have not read much about VPN integration with third-party tools like NetBird, or MITRE ATT&CK evaluation/remediation.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Action1 simplifies infra and endpoint management, assisting with patching on Windows and Linux, especially cloud VMs. It consolidates tools, streamlining billing, and allows remote desktop support for Windows, reducing the need for multiple solutions.

 ### 45. Strengthening Endpoint Security Through Automated Patch Compliance

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Richard R. | VP/Chief Technology Officer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 11, 2026

**What do you like best about Action1?**

Our Network Services team uses Action1 daily, and it has become an integral part of our endpoint management and security operations. The platform is intuitive and straightforward to administer, enabling us to automate Windows and third-party patching with confidence and consistency. The real-time visibility into patch status and vulnerabilities, combined with built-in remote management and scripting capabilities, allows the team to respond quickly and proactively. Its cloud-native architecture eliminates unnecessary complexity, and overall, it has proven to be a reliable, efficient solution that our team genuinely values and trusts.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

From our Network Services team’s perspective, Action1 delivers strong patch management and endpoint visibility, but there are areas where we would like to see continued evolution. We currently leverage a robust RMM platform from another provider, and while Action1 meets our patching needs very effectively, some of the broader RMM capabilities are still maturing. The remote access and advanced management features, in particular, would need to deepen further for us to fully consolidate tools. That said, we see meaningful progress and would welcome the opportunity to displace our existing solution as Action1’s functionality continues to expand.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

From our Network Services team’s perspective, Action1 is solving the critical challenge of keeping all of our workstations and servers consistently patched across a hybrid work environment. With endpoints operating both on-premises and remotely, maintaining timely patch compliance is extremely important to our overall security posture. Action1 provides centralized visibility into missing updates and vulnerabilities and allows us to automate remediation for both Windows and third-party applications, ensuring systems stay current regardless of location.

Because it is cloud-native, we don’t have to rely on additional infrastructure or complex connectivity requirements to manage remote devices. This has strengthened our patch cadence, improved compliance reporting, and reduced manual effort for the team. Most importantly, it gives us confidence that our distributed environment is being managed proactively rather than reactively, which is essential in today’s threat landscape.

 ### 46. Indispensable for Tracking and Security of Patches

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Florent F. | DSI, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 06, 2025

**What do you like best about Action1?**

I appreciated that Action1 adapts to the real world, functioning in the real life of an administrator faced with a changing world and a multitude of issues. I also appreciate their collaborative roadmap which is accessible in two clicks. Everyone can comment on it, vote, add their wishes, and see the progress of the roadmap, which ensures that the features developed by Action1 truly meet the expectations of the clients. Another aspect I like is their consideration of security at all levels, because a tool as powerful as Action1 must be perfectly secure, also contributing to the security of the company's machines and servers. Additionally, the setup was quite easy thanks to the tutorials, and I felt no friction in developing the use of the tool with my team.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

The risk that the rate will increase significantly afterwards.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Action1 to monitor and automate patches and deployments, security is well considered. The collaborative roadmap ensures evolution focused on customer needs.

 ### 47. User-Friendly Patch Management with Fast, Accessible Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Desiree M. | IT Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2026

**What do you like best about Action1?**

Beyond the user-friendly interface, I really like Action1’s patch management. It makes it easy to deploy updates and patches, install or uninstall software, and remotely connect to a computer when needed. I also appreciate the easy and quick deployment of automations which we greatly implement in our organization. As a free user, I also appreciate that customer support is easy to reach and responds quickly. Just to add, the webinars also help a lot while navigating through the system.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

Based on our usage, the only real downside I’ve noticed is that remote chat isn’t available while you’re remotely connected to an endpoint. That said, as they mentioned in one of their webinars, this doesn’t seem to be a priority for them since they’re more focused on patch management than on being a remote connection tool.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Action1 helps me manage Windows updates more effectively, including controlling and deploying them, and it also makes it easy to roll out automations across all endpoints. On top of that, I can quickly check for vulnerabilities and manage them across our endpoints without much effort.

 ### 48. Action1: Simple, Cloud-Native Endpoint Security with Fast, Automated Patching

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bharath P. | Security Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2026

**What do you like best about Action1?**

its simplicity and effectiveness in endpoint security and patch management. It provides real-time visibility of vulnerabilities across endpoints and enables fast remediation without complex infrastructure. The cloud-native architecture eliminates the need for on-prem servers, which makes deployment and scaling straightforward.

From a security operations perspective, I appreciate how Action1 combines vulnerability detection, automated patching, and remote access capabilities in a single lightweight platform. This reduces tool sprawl and helps security teams respond quickly to emerging threats.

I also value its focus on proactive risk reduction — especially automated patch deployment for third-party applications, which are often the biggest attack surface. The ability to prioritize vulnerabilities based on severity aligns well with modern risk-based security practices.

Overall, Action1 supports a practical, efficient, and security-first approach, which strongly resonates with how I approach cybersecurity operations.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

Here’s a balanced, professional response you can use (positive but honest — good for interviews or applications):

While Action1 is very strong in patch management and vulnerability remediation, one area that could be improved is advanced customization and deep reporting capabilities for larger enterprise environments. Compared to some traditional enterprise tools, reporting flexibility and granular policy tuning can feel somewhat limited.

Additionally, organizations with highly complex infrastructure or hybrid/on-prem legacy environments may require additional integrations or complementary tools to achieve full coverage beyond endpoint management.

That said, these trade-offs are often the result of Action1’s strength — its simplicity and ease of deployment. For many organizations, especially those prioritizing speed, visibility, and efficient patching, the streamlined design is actually a major advantage.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Action1 solves the critical problem of delayed patching and limited visibility across endpoints, which are two of the biggest contributors to security breaches. Many organizations struggle with knowing which devices are vulnerable, whether patches are successfully deployed, and how quickly they can remediate emerging threats. Action1 centralizes vulnerability detection, patch management, and remote endpoint control into a single cloud-based platform.

For me as a Security Engineer, this directly benefits daily operations by providing real-time visibility into endpoint risk posture. Instead of manually tracking vulnerabilities or relying on multiple disconnected tools, I can quickly identify high-risk systems and remediate them through automated patch deployment. This significantly reduces our exposure window to known exploits.

It also improves operational efficiency — less time spent on manual patch coordination means more time focusing on proactive security improvements, threat monitoring, and compliance initiatives (such as ISO 27001 and SOC 2 readiness). Overall, Action1 helps shift the security approach from reactive to proactive, which strengthens the organization’s overall security posture.

 ### 49. Seamless Endpoint Management with Action1

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shelumiel Gaius J. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 27, 2026

**What do you like best about Action1?**

I love how Action1 allows us to maintain a record of our organization's PCs, especially for patch management, endpoint management, vulnerability detection, and ensuring all our PCs are up-to-date and secure. The ability to push important updates automatically to multiple devices with just a few clicks and to detect vulnerable or outdated machines is incredibly beneficial, especially for remote users. It saves us a lot of time. The end-to-end management through a web portal and a free tier for the first 200 computers is brilliant. One of the best values is the ability to remotely desktop and fix end-user issues, which is quite a helpful feature. The initial setup was pretty straightforward, and it's been a great addition to our tools alongside Microsoft Intune.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

NA

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Action1 for patch management, endpoint management, and vulnerability detection, ensuring PCs are secure and up-to-date. It saves time by pushing updates automatically to multiple devices and assists with remote management, especially benefitting those in remote locations.

 ### 50. Customizable patch management with easy setup

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tim H. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 05, 2026

**What do you like best about Action1?**

I appreciate the good interface and customizability of Action1. It is very easy to personalize the platform according to the organization, for example by uploading a different logo and adding or customizing scripts. I also find it particularly helpful to have the ability to manage updates dynamically through groups to ensure they always arrive when needed. Additionally, the initial setup of Action1 was very easy; I was able to set it up quickly and get started right away.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

It would be very nice to be able to connect my own OIDC service as a login source. I use Authentik and would be happy to be able to log in through it. There is a script for restarting Linux devices, but if I want to perform the restart via the GUI, it doesn't work. An integration with Docker would be very helpful.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I manage devices at various locations and keep track of security vulnerabilities and patch status.
