**What do you like best about Action1?**

I’ve actually been using Action1 for several years now to manage my endpoints, and it’s one of the few tools in my stack that I haven't felt the need to replace. When I first started with it, I just needed a better way to handle patching, but it’s grown into my go-to for remote support and software deployment across all my sites.

What’s kept me around for years is the reliability of the agent. I've managed hundreds of endpoints through this platform and the automated patching for third-party apps is just solid—it saves me hours of manual work every week. Even as they’ve added more features, the interface has stayed clean and hasn't become "bloated" like some of the other legacy RMM tools I used to use. If you want something that actually scales and doesn't give you constant headaches with broken updates, Action1 is it.

A mobile app would be great for IT pro who are on the move and more linux funtionality on the web based

**What do you like best about Action1?**

This is a seriously amazing solution, directed, accurate, easy to use and does EXACTLY what is required ... and nothing else!

If you need a patch management system, and have multiple sites and / or no HQ (or even if you do of course) every computer, wherever it is, can be managed, monitored, kept bang up to date with prioritised risk based analysis of ever bit of software and operating system on the computer. It covers Windows, Mac and Linux.

I cannot remember the last time I saw a product this easy to use that did such a perfect job - except Sepio Cyber of course, that goes without saying; but they do for hardware what this does for software!

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

Literally nothing. Most companies diversify, spread and sprawl into areas where they're not required and water down the quality solution. I have seen the roadmap - these guys are keeping this bang on point!

Please don't get take over my asset stripping venture capitalists and burn this amazing focus!

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

100% awareness of all installed software on all computers in a very diverse workforce.

All patch requirements, for all software, the ability to easily remove any unrequired software and / or patch or upgrade it.

Remote support (with admin privileges if required).

All of this without VPN but WITH security.

Use it to meet NIS-D, ISO27001 or UK Cyber Essential Plus requirement 100% in the patching and software management controls.

**What do you like best about Action1?**

Well to start its free for me.   I have less than 100 endpoints and its totally free and fully featured.  Its automated, cloud-native patch management that covers Windows and third-party applications without requiring a VPN.  The intuitive UI, and integrated remote access, allowing for rapid vulnerability remediation and easy deployment of software to distributed, remote teams.  Implementation was ease.  it is used frequently.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

I wish it would let me use it for my personal and family.   I could protect them.  The lack of native Linux/macOS support, inconsistent remote control performance, and complex scheduling. Slow file transfers, limited reporting, and UI navigation issues.  Customer support needs improved.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a good update process as we migrated to 100% SaaS platforms.   We do not have an on premise or cloud hosted option we can leverage.  Action1 solves critical endpoint management issues by providing a cloud-native platform that automates patching for OS and third-party apps, offering 360-degree visibility, and securing remote workforces without VPNs

**What do you like best about Action1?**

I like that Action1 is practical and simple to install, without needing practically any configuration to work as expected, which is simply fantastic. It is very easy to set up, just create the account, install the agent, and it's already working. It saves me the work of manually updating 30 servers, allowing me to do all the management remotely, which saves me time in managing the machines. Additionally, for new machines, I can create and deploy scripts that automate the installation of other necessary agents on the machines.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

I believe that managing one's own software repository could be simpler to use. I would like it to be possible for users to install or remove software, and to more accurately check which user installed any software.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Action1 saves me the work of manually updating 30 servers and allows remote management. It saves time in managing the machines and automates installations with scripts, being practical and simple to install.

**What do you like best about Action1?**

As a one-person IT department, Action1 has become instrumental in keeping devices across our company patched and up to date. It’s also been a real blessing to be able to remote into any corporate device from my office, especially since we have team members spread across New York State.

The user interface is intuitive and straightforward. Even if I hadn’t worked in IT for 20 years, it’s simple enough that just about anyone could use it with minimal training. I also appreciate the integration with our Microsoft account, which gives us single sign-on, keeps our security in place, and means there’s one less account login to remember.

Performance has been a godsend from day one. Updates deploy quickly with very little hands-on effort required from our end. And with 200 free devices to start, you really can’t beat the price.

So far I have never had to contact Support.  That's just how well the product has worked, but the onboarding took me 10 minutes to configure before we were up and deploying updates.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

The only downside is the requirement to use the web user interface.  We would love an app, or even better a mobile app for user on the go.  That isn't detrimental, it just means we always have to use a device with the full browser.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before using Action1, I had to manually remind users to update their computers, which wasn’t very secure. Users can be lazy and don’t always do what’s requested. With Action1, we no longer have to keep asking; we can just implement the updates, and our devices are more secure because of it. Now they stay up to date with the latest patches and security fixes.

**What do you like best about Action1?**

What I like most about Action1 is how intuitive and easy it is to use, even for daily IT operations. The interface is clean and straightforward, which makes it simple to manage all endpoints from a single console without a steep learning curve.

I use it heavily for both Windows updates and third-party patching, and being able to deploy everything across the organization in just a few clicks has significantly improved my workflow. It has reduced manual work and helped me keep systems consistently updated and secure.

The remote access feature is something I rely on multiple times a day, and it has been very reliable for providing quick support without needing additional tools or complex setups. In fact, Action1 allowed me to replace a previous RMM (Itarian) as well as several manual scripts, simplifying my toolset.

Performance has been solid, especially when executing remote actions and patch deployments at scale. What really stands out is how easy deployment is and how reliable the platform is in day-to-day use. It just works, which is critical in a production environment.

Overall, it has made endpoint management more efficient, centralized, and scalable, while also delivering strong value by reducing the need for multiple solutions.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

It’s honestly difficult to find major downsides, especially considering the free tier for up to 200 endpoints, which already delivers a lot of value.

If I had to point out an area for improvement, it would be the lack of a built-in interactive terminal per endpoint. Having a feature that allows direct interaction with PowerShell in real time, similar to what tools like MeshCentral offer, would make troubleshooting and remote management even more efficient.

While current remote management features work well, adding this capability would reduce the need to rely on remote desktop sessions for quick command-line tasks and further streamline daily operations.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before using Action1, managing a large number of endpoints required a mix of tools and manual effort, which made patching, software deployment, and remote support more time-consuming and harder to standardize.

With Action1, I can now manage all endpoints from a single platform in a much more efficient and centralized way. Tasks like deploying Windows updates, third-party patches, and software installations can be done across the entire organization in just a few clicks.

This has significantly reduced the time spent on routine maintenance, improved consistency across systems, and made it much easier to scale operations as the number of devices grows. It has also helped maintain better visibility and control over the environment, which is critical for both IT operations and security.

**What do you like best about Action1?**

From a retail market perspective; being able to deploy updates to POS terminals in bulk, keep branch computers up to date, create optional automations, establish instant connections when needed, and easily monitor system status is truly excellent. All of these features are impressive and have worked flawlessly so far. The ease of installation is even more remarkable; integrating the system into a newly set up POS terminal takes less than a minute.

Currently, we have daily-running automations across an average of +50 POS terminals and +30 computers.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

Its biggest drawback is that it can be removed very easily by the user.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Previously, I had to connect to each POS terminal and computer individually using different tools to deploy updates. This process used to take at least two hours.
Now, thanks to PowerShell scripts, I can perform the desired operations and deploy updates in bulk in less than a minute.

It’s easy to deploy and supports Linux. I also like how flexible it is for managing updates on servers and endpoints, plus the API is great for custom reports.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

Lack of user context: the username isn’t visible in the “Pending Updates” or “CVE” lists, which makes it harder to understand who is responsible for what. Rigid approval workflows: it’s difficult to shorten deadlines or set appropriate validation periods for critical updates.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1. The “Fragmentation” Problem
The problem: Managing Windows, macOS, and Linux typically means juggling three separate tools, which leads to constant context switching and, inevitably, missed updates.
The benefit: Action1 gives you a single pane of glass. From the same screen, you can push a Bash script to an Ubuntu server and a PowerShell script to a Windows laptop, which can save hours of administrative overhead.

2. The “Remote Blind Spot” Problem
The problem: Traditional tools often rely on a VPN to see or patch remote devices, which leaves off-network laptops exposed to CVEs.
The benefit: Its cloud-native architecture can connect to any device with internet access. That means real-time monitoring and always-on patching without needing a VPN or complicated firewall rules.

I appreciate that Action1 is FREE for the first 200 users, which is a fantastic deal. The ability to deploy software patches remotely is incredibly useful, especially since we're cloud-based with limited remote administrative features. It allows for complete remote administration, especially when paired with MeshCentral. I find the combination with MeshCentral to be very effective. Thanks to Action1's features, I can deploy patches after testing and even deploy multiple other packages, which makes management much easier. The initial setup was easy due to my experience, and I can't say enough good things about it to anyone in IT. I love how Action1 allowed us to operate efficiently under our specific setup needs.

I like that Action1 is simple to set up, deploy, and manage. It's easy to deploy the agent via Intune and quickly get insight into vulnerabilities and outdated software on endpoints. Setting up automatic update rings is quick and simple, and navigating the interface is a breeze. Managing devices through Action1 alongside Intune works well. I also like that the company seems dedicated to constantly improving the product and taking community feedback seriously. We found Action1 to be the best option compared to competitors, and I would highly recommend it.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

I wish the desktop operating system support had more parity, but I know it's on their roadmap. More support for MacOS and Linux would be great. Feature parity between Windows, MacOS, and Linux as far as patching, app deployment, and remote desktop. More Linux distro support would be great as well, beyond Debian and Fedora.

I use Action1 for managing third-party app updates on Windows and MacOS, solving patch management issues. It's simple to set up, deploy, and manage. It quickly provides insight into vulnerabilities and outdated software, and it's easy to navigate and manage devices alongside Intune.

My favorite feature is the remote desktop tool which I use when providing remote desktop support.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

On the endpoint lists, there's no way to edit the columns. I'd really like to have a "Last Seen" column which I can sort by. Right now, I have to run a report to see this. It would also be nice to add columns for the custom fields as well when I'm working on projects and need to keep track of which endpoint I've run a script on, for example.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A1 allows me to see outstanding Windows updates and application updates. I have no other visibility into this without manually checking each endpoint. Even for software which is not natively supported (like the VDI versions of Zoom and the host plugin for Zoom VDI), the installed version numbers can be seen so I can see if a manual update is required and on which endpoints.

There’s very little to dislike. While there’s always room for more advanced reporting and integration options, the current feature set already covers most of our needs exceptionally well.

Action1 has solved our biggest challenge of managing and securing devices across multiple locations without the need for expensive infrastructure. We can now deploy updates, run scripts, monitor endpoints, and address security vulnerabilities remotely with ease. **What do you like best about Action1?**

I love how Action1 lets us run automated scripts for tasks like adding WiFi connections and copying Bitlocker keys to Microsoft Entra, which simplifies our post-build procedures and saves engineering time. Being able to identify application vulnerabilities and schedule updates outside of work hours reduces downtime, which is fantastic. The 'update rings' feature for testing updates on pilot machines before a full rollout is very useful. Action1's reliability impressed us so much that we decommissioned other products like WSUS and Intune in its favor. The setup was extremely easy too, with an on-premise sync server ensuring the Action1 agent automatically deploys to domain-joined computers, requiring minimal manual intervention.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

The remote assistance tool is extremely slow and laggy, so we had to find another solution for our remote assistance needs. If Action1 could fix this, then this would be a complete endpoint management solution.

**What do you like best about Action1?**

Simple-to-use GUI. Very easy to navigate. Getting the deployment set up through GPO was very easy and no-effort on my end. Sometimes getting things set up on the server level is difficult and much trial and error but I really had no issues getting things deployed and working. Showing what items are critical and non-critical is very easy to tell and get stations updated. I've been looking for a tool for this for quite some time. I think I've found home.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

So far I haven't run into anything I dislike. I wish all of our users had their computers on to get updated all the time but I get that updates only work if the computer is online.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping our workstations up to date with windows and driver updates. 80% of the issues I see from a desktop support point of view are all from updates not being completed. This should save me hours and hours of support.

**What do you like best about Action1?**

Action1 identifies software vulnerabilities even in software it doesn't provide updates for. The library of updated software is quite large and covers everything most people use. Being able to see the status of computers, remotely login, generate reports and run custom scripts covers our needs. The setup is very simple. They are constantly working on improving and updating the software. The one time I used support they got back to me very quickly. Action1 has become part of my daily management of our computers and servers. I like the fact they are security focused and have the certifications to back that up.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

There are some minor UI issues, where I have to scroll right to reach UI buttons. Remote desktop while amazing to have, is a bit laggier than other stand-alone options.

You can push updates remotely and connect to the computer, which has saved us so many times. The UI is great and genuinely easy to use. For us, you can’t beat the price - free! Thank you so much; it has truly transformed our business’s security.

The remote connection could be a bit stronger, right now its very slow but it could be some firewall rules we need to change. It also shows some vulnerabilities that we have patched that vulnerability scanners that say we have remediated.

Automating patching, asset management and remote connection. It Excels in all of these departments and is very user friendly. The big one as well is updating applications, a huge time saver, with updates you can just turn on auto updates but the fact that it updates the applications on machines as well just saves us a lot of time.

What I find most useful in Action1 is being able to manage all devices from a single console. It automates updates and security checks, saving time and making everything simpler and safer.

The only thing I don't like about Action1 is that some advanced features take a bit of time to understand and configure correctly. At first, it can seem a bit complex. I don't think the company will continue to fund it, plus I had to reinstall because it kept giving me an error!!!!

Action1 solves the problem of having to manually manage updates, patches, security checks, and remote access to devices. Before, I had to do everything one by one, risking forgetting something or wasting time. With Action1, I can manage everything from a single console, including remote desktop connections.

2. The remote desktop tool works better than any other RMM platform I’ve used. It connects within seconds, and as long as all firewall/ZTNA rules are in place, there are no issues.
3. Cost is a major factor. As long as you stay under 200 endpoints, the software is free, so there’s no risk in trying it. I recommend it to anyone looking to test an RMM platform.
4. The free version doesn’t include official support, but the community is very responsive and has been able to help with all of our questions.

The only issues I’ve encountered have been related to some functionality that would be ideal for scripts I previously ran in my former RMM solution. Also with some help with their team, I wasn't able to go through, proxy. This year, I tried again, and seems that they updated their deployment agent and it went through proxy. There were some setting in registra (proxy) and in firewall (ports), but I it's all now clear and easy.

First, it is easy to use. Implementation was a breeze! Just a simple download and install from the authenticated web portal and you have the client up and running on any machine. The setup was super easy; I just had to put a bunch of people in a group on Intune, download the MSI package, and add a few options like no restart and quiet, and it just works. It's great.

One of the things that I don't like is that we need to deploy custom scripts for letting users know that we are connected, as well as when we disconnect. It would be nice if we had some type of banner or some sort of remote management indicator that we are connected.

I like that Action1 performs its essential functions well without overcomplicating things with unnecessary features. The free tier is fantastic for smaller organizations, and it contributes to making everyone safer, which benefits all of us. I especially like the update rings feature, where updates are progressively rolled out in rings only once a certain number of successful updates have been completed. The installation process was nice and easy, with good documentation to help set everything up.

Overall it's pretty good but it would be nice to have a mobile app for those times when you are away from your desk or office and someone needs assistance. Getting back to your desk and PC may be inconvenient where a remote session via a mobile app may resolve the issue quickly.

It gives us a centralized way to manage all updates for operating systems and third-party software, which is a big improvement over manually managing Windows updates and other software. Action1 is fully compliant with ISO27001, NIS2, GDPR, and SOC 2, helping us maintain high security standards essential for our requirements. It also provides a centralized dashboard for vulnerabilities and updates, which helps us support our company's regulations compliance like GDPR and NIS2.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

It would be nice to have an option to group the vulnerabilities by software in the endpoint description instead of having all the CVEs. It's kind of cumbersome to see them all listed individually. A summary that highlights '1 software with critical vulnerabilities and 3 software with non-critical vulnerabilities' would be more helpful.

I like the ease of use; the console is very easy to navigate. It's easy to set up, and the automations are great. I can see what software is installed and easily remove software. Adding items to the repository is pretty easy. Also, I appreciate the remote desktop assistance feature.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

Some of the things that could be improved are the console itself and the speed at which it refreshes from the clients. It's not always accurate and takes a while to display the right telemetry. It might be helpful for the console to alert users that it may take up to five to ten minutes, so there's no confusion about what's reported. Also, the reporting could improve. The navigation of the help desk site could be more streamlined for finding resources.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Action1 for inventory applications, remote desktop, and support. It simplifies software installation and removal, and the console is easy to navigate. Action1 replaced our remote assistance vendor, SolarWinds, and facilitates easy automation and remote desktop assistance.

The ability to patch third-party software and update Windows with just a few clicks has easily made this my go-to tool for getting machines into compliance. It works right away, unlike Intune. I also like that I can run scripts, review the automation history, and watch automations run in real time, which makes it easier to see what’s happening as it happens. On top of that, being free for life for up to 200 machines is a huge plus and makes it the best RMM I’ve ever used.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

The remote desktop features leave a lot to be desired. Latency is noticeable, and screen updates don’t feel as smooth or responsive as they should. Overall, the RDP experience could really use improvement.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Updating my entire fleet, including 3rd party apps, through patch rings really makes my life easier. It’s also straightforward to see which vulnerabilities each machine has, along with the total count. Now I spend about five minutes on Monday instead of endless hours trying to get installation scripts working in Intune. Deploying Action1 through Intune was simple to set up initially as well. Another nice benefit is that it’s free for the first 200 machines, and I can revoke licenses to stay under that limit.

I use Action1 to keep all my systems' third-party apps up to date for SOC2 compliance. It's a super easy quick software deployment tool that works well as a supplement for Intune. I love that it handles frequent browser updates because many users don't hit the "update" button or reboot often, saving me a lot of short calls to users. The ability to pick and choose who to update and when is fantastic as it allows me to stagger updates around big meetings, based on user feedback. I also use the remote desktop control feature a lot and appreciate that it connects with Intune for auto deployment. Starting for free was a big plus, and the initial setup was very easy as I just followed the instructions. I can confidently say I'd recommend it to a friend or colleague, rating it a 10 on the likelihood scale.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

Maybe a little better way to see systems that are consistently failing on updates. Sort of like a red flag would be nice.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The initial setup was very easy, thanks to GPO, and setting up groups in Action1 was straightforward. I highly recommend Action1 and would rate it a 10 out of 10.

It would be nice to have a progress bar for the update tasks. It shows what it's working on but doesn't provide an idea of how long each update would take. Especially with larger updates, it would be nice to see the download or update installation progress.

I really like that Action1 solves several problems for the small business I work with, such as providing updates and patches, remote helpdesk and maintenance, vulnerability monitoring, and inventory management. With Action1, I don't have to search for updates for various software and hardware. Accessing computers while staff are at lunch to fix issues and looking up serial numbers for warranty purposes is direct and easy. I also appreciate that all these uses work very well. One standout feature is that the first 200 endpoints are free, which is incredibly helpful when budgets are tight in IT. This feature allows for more flexibility in budgeting considerations. The initial setup of Action1 was very easy and user-friendly. It's also very fully featured, so I can focus only on the immediate needs without diving deeply into all the capabilities. I've paid for Action1 in the past and will likely do so again because it is so valuable. I want Action1 to succeed and support it since it has provided such valuable services.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

Some major and frequent updates are not built in for quick rollout. We've developed scripts to install some Autodesk updates, but it doesn't work for all the Autodesk updates. It would be helpful for Action1 to partner with Autodesk to the extent that all (many and frequent) updates are built-in to the software repository.

I don't need to search for updates, can access computers remotely, and manage inventory easily. Action1 is budget-friendly with 200 free endpoints, adding flexibility for small businesses.

I started using Action1 a few months ago, and I am happy with its capabilities. The tool can be managed by the IT team without requiring highly skilled personnel, and the user interface is very user-friendly. Once you install the agent on any endpoint, it starts to sync and push data to the console efficiently. I like the comprehensive device controls available for applying patches and the overall effectiveness of the UI. Action1 helps identify vulnerabilities quickly and allows me to fix them by applying patches. Features like taking endpoint remote access, managing scheduled reboots, auto remediation, and obtaining valuable reports for compliance are really helpful. Additionally, the initial setup was good and quick.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

I find it lagging in Remote support, especially since the screen doesn't refresh quickly when taking remote access. There is also a lack of filters on the vulnerabilities and patches screen to filter with device groups and export the filtered data in CSV. Additionally, Action1 is not helping to remediate or manage Linux-based workloads.
