The name change from LawPay to 8 am was one of the two worst decisions made by a company in connection with a rebranding that I have ever seen. The only worse decision was changing Twitter to X. The attorneys with whom I have discussed this name change are amazed at the decision to change a virtually a perfect name (identifies the market niche, the service and is short, pronounceable and created a great brand name) to a name that means noting and creates confusion about what this business does. The failure of anyone to push back on the new CEO who thought this was a brilliant idea has to say something (not positive) about her management style.
