It’s very easy to move tenants in and out, and the search engine in the title bar works good although being able to search by invoice and receipt numbers, phone number and additional contact name would make it even more versatile. Invoice and receipt numbers were in V2. Most of the reports are useful, from the email log to the daily payment report, and overall performance has been good. Pricing for 6S feels reasonable when you consider the benefits of the software, especially compared with other S/W. I’ve also consistently received great support from the 6Storage team whenever I’ve had issues or questions. We haven’t integrated it with our website yet because we’re currently redoing the site.
I like the statements for tenants with multiple stalls. In V2 the statement on the tenant screen was a mixture of all the stalls making it very difficult to read. In V3, the statements are by stall. Much easier!
One suggestion for 6Storage. I spent my career (now retired) in systems. Part of our ability to build the software we used was to be apart of an 'user' group. This group was made up of, in 6Storage's case of your customers. In the couple of user groups that I belong with, we met once a year to discuss good/not so good features of 6Storage along with future development. It allowed us as users to have real input into the S/W. Positive and constructive criticism along with new ideas were apart of the schedule. These sessions were held in person, in my case either Toronto or LV, where we would spend 5 days learning things we didn't know, helping other and talking over new ideas. some good and some not so much! We would walk away from the week with a list of 10 priorities made up of fixes and new ideas. It worked really well. Food for thought. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The ability to merge stalls on one invoice. In our case it is a big deal because many of our tenants have multiple stalls. Some have over 4 so when you have that many it is, in my opinion, unprofessional sending out multiple invoices and receipts.
The ability for the S/W to keep track of over payment. If someone owes us 75.50 and the send $80, the remainder is not kept track of. Allot of customers e-transfer funds to us. Some will round the amount so for example they owe us $75.50. They will send $75. That leaves .50 not paid so the reminder reports will go out to the customer. It would be nice if there was under tolerance built into the S/W, controlled by management, so that reminders would not go out if the tenants owes under a predefined amount. It's unprofessional to send out a reminder for 50 cents, in my view.
More reports on marketing would be nice. We put all this information into the database. It would be nice to get it out.
The master search is not as robust as in V2 where I could search on invoice number, receipt numbers and phone number on the tenants page. I really like the messaging feature but one thing to improve is where the list of tenants is. In V2 the list was sorted by tenant name which was good because I could see if a tenant had more then one stall. When I am doing a mass mailing I don't want to send out multiple emails to the same customer. This sort allowed me to un-tick those multiple occurrences. Maybe putting the ability to sort by tenant name or any column would be good.
In V2, I was able to turn off email reminders by tenant. In V3 I can't or at at I haven't figured that out. I can turn 'off'/'on' SMS reminders on the tenant screen.
When a tenant does a partial payment on multiple stalls, the program forces me to unselect all the stalls and only pay on a single stall at a time. If I don't deselect the invoices, the box where I change the amount owing is not editable. The system should be able to apply the partial amount based on the invoice age not me having to manually select the invoice. If I want to select the invoices manually then I can always deselect them.
I liked in V2 where the invoice was prefixed with INV, but this isn't a show stopper.
In V2 I liked the current monthly revenue total on the dashboard along with last months for comparison purposes without having to run reports.
Having the individual tenants payments is good but a total either at the end of the list or in the pane title bar would be nice.
I don't see the ability to un-move a moveout. In V2 I could un-move a tenant within 30 days. This has come in handy! Along with this the ability to pay down a moved out tenant or write a tenant off after the move out is done. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Hi Dave,
Thank you for taking the time to share such thoughtful and detailed feedback. We’re pleased that V3 has made tenant move-ins, move-outs, reporting, and multi-stall statements easier to manage, and that our support team has consistently been there when you need assistance.
We genuinely appreciate your suggestions regarding consolidated invoices, payment tolerances, partial payments, expanded search options, marketing reports, mass messaging, and dashboard totals. Your idea of forming a customer user group is also excellent. As a fellow storage operator, I believe direct customer input is incredibly valuable when identifying priorities and shaping future improvements. Thank you for your continued trust in 6Storage and for giving us constructive ideas to consider as we continue improving V3.
