VMix makes it easy to set up multiple inputs, including cameras, audio, and mixed media. Keyboard shortcuts make it simple to toggle back and forth between inputs.

The source inputs and outputs have a great deal of variety. Additionally, its many features allow you to do a great deal with live streaming. It broadcasts fairly seamlessly with several platforms and has a very smooth interface (once you get past the learning curve).

I like producing a live stream using both live speakers and prerecorded segments easily through this broadcast platform. I always recommend having the vMix operator control all content, including waiting room countdown videos, rather than using a separate person to run content on the platform where the content is streaming, Zoom, for example. The green room option gives speakers a place to connect and discuss the content before the live stream begins. That's especially helpful if a particular speaker cannot join us for the tech set-up ahead of the live event start. They can log into vMix and be added to the green room before their segment begins. This scenario has been a recurring one with the live events I produce that often involve people from different time zones and even other countries.
