Three things. 1) Value for the money. Alternatives were $5k+ /year. 2) It's very easy to set up the site and the judging criteria for anyone with any experience with WordPress or similar software. 3) The customer support is awesome - they make you feel like a million bucks even if they don't charge a million bucks. Customer support is needed to finalize launching the site (for us it involved integrating with Paypal and our webhost.) They also offer additional support, for example, they helped us make some changes to the submission form with conditional logic, and changed around what fields were visible to some users.

The emailing features, the interface for the users & the customer support were extremely beneficial and effective.
