Teuxdeux (the desktop web app) presents tasks in two rows, the top row showing 5 days and the bottom row, 5 independent columns. The wonderful thing about TeuxDeux is that it represents tasks along a timeline very effectively. Though this can be seen as just columns of tasks, it makes it really easy to see tasks within a chronological context. The bottom row of columns allow you to create buckets of tasks which you can customize to fit your needs. For e.g. one could be an inbox for you to do a braindump of tasks, another could be a list of tasks waiting on for someone. You can very easily drag tasks to any date above or to other columns. When a task is done, just click on it and it is striked out.
