String builds, deploys and maintains the shipping logic that runs inside a merchant's existing ShipStation account. It exists for the point where an operation's fulfillment rules become specific to that business, and ShipStation's automation rules can no longer express them. That usually shows up as a person deciding, order by order: which box a mixed order goes in, whether a carrier's flat-rate box beats standard rates for that order, how to split an order that won't fit one box, how to batch by zone, cutoff and pick path, when to hold an order for inventory, or which warehouse ships it. String is a third-party integration built on the ShipStation API. It reads each order, makes the decision, and writes the result back to the same order before anyone on the floor sees it. Orders are never rerouted, labels are bought in ShipStation on the merchant's own carrier accounts, and there's no dashboard or seat to license. The team keeps working in ShipStation.
