LetX is a browser-based collaborative LaTeX editor for research teams, university departments, and labs. Multiple authors edit the same document simultaneously with conflict-free merging, compile to PDF in seconds on managed infrastructure, and roll back to any earlier version. No local TeX installation is required on any machine. Organizations get shared workspaces with seat-based membership and role-based access control, so a department or lab onboards its members centrally instead of managing individual subscriptions. Collaborators are never charged per seat for editing. The library covers 442 publication and institutional formats, IEEE, Springer and Elsevier journal submissions, university thesis layouts, CVs, grant proposals, and Beamer presentations. So teams start from a compliant document instead of building a preamble by hand. Customer documents are never used to train AI models. LetX declares ai-train=no and is not tied to any LLM vendor, which matters for unpublished research. In production since January 2026, used across 90+ universities and research labs in 30+ countries, including INGV Italy, INPE Brazil, CAB CSIC-INTA Spain, UCSD, TUM and Korea University.
