Even with thousands of parts, both the Flattened and Tree views load quickly and stay responsive, without noticeable browser lag. Integrations: The CAD Add-in feels seamless in day-to-day use. Features like assembly-level structural file locking directly in the task pane help prevent teammates from accidentally overwriting active work across our design folders. Pricing & ROI: The data-records consumption model is very transparent and easy to understand. Since OpenBOM offers free read-only seats, we can share BOMs and ZIP packages with procurement and vendors without getting hit with hefty per-seat licensing penalties. AI & Support: The "Ask OpenBOM" AI panel is genuinely useful and doesn’t feel like a gimmick. When I switch it to Agent mode, we can run natural-language queries for instant quantity reporting and full-text searches across complex data.

I love the ease of generating PDFs and STEP files, which are stored in the OpenBOM cloud, allowing other team members to access the information without the option to modify it. I use the OpenBOM plugin in SolidWorks to make drawings and automatically generate 2D PDFs and 3D STEP files along with descriptions and part numbers, which streamlines the process. I also greatly appreciate that I don't need to use space on my hard drive or a local server since everything is in the OpenBOM cloud, avoiding cumbersome folder systems in Drive and providing greater security. The transition from Excel to OpenBOM helped us a lot and it has been a great advancement to eliminate manual editing errors. Whenever I've had issues, customer support has responded in a helpful and quick manner.

It’s easy to customize and align with our current process. While we work to fully integrate to OpenBOM we can still export to excel so our procurement group can proceed with its normal process.
