The Penetration Testing with Kali Linux (PWK/PEN-200) online ethical hacking course is self-paced. It introduces penetration testing tools and techniques via hands-on experience. PEN-200 trains not only the skills, but also the mindset required to be a successful penetration tester. Students who complete the course and pass the exam earn the Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) certification. This course features five recently retired OSCP exam machines now added to the PWK labs. These five machines represent an entire OSCP exam room.

Indispensable for Cybersecurity Pros, Caution for Beginners

I started using Kali Linux few years back, and it's been integral in my cybersecurity career ever since. What stands out is the unmatched toolkit it provides, with hundreds of preconfigured tools ready to deploy. It's a massive time saver, especially for penetration testing or forensic tasks. Kali Linux has always been the go-to in the toolkit for offensive testing and no other product matches its comprehensive nature.

An Essential Tool for Cybersecurity Professionals

I use Kali Linux for my everyday office work because it's kind of an ocean with several tools for networking and security. I like Kali Linux a lot compared to other operating systems. Tools like NMap and Wireshark make it easy to scan networks, analyze traffic, and identify vulnerabilities in real-time. This is especially useful in office environments where maintaining secure internal networks is critical. Instead of juggling multiple third-party applications, Kali Linux provides all kinds of tools pre-installed, which was the main reason we switched from using Windows 11 and Ubuntu. Even though the initial setup can be complicated for beginners during disk partitioning, the rest of the setup can be easily managed.

Best OS for Ethical Hacking, Simple Yet Powerful

I find Kali Linux to be the best OS for ethical hacking. It's easy to install and use, which I really appreciate. The operating system is clean, and I like the easy folder management. It's basically a clean Ubuntu OS, which can be started in any VM, making it very versatile. The initial setup is as simple as plug and play, which is fantastic.
