I salute that students have access to practise exams especially in the deep remedial mode where they may hone their skills and abilities.

The Lumos StepUp program is user friendly. It has tests that mimic the real standardized assessment which provides students with familiarity and the chance to gain confidence in their test taking skills. Furthermore, the Lumos StepUp program is proven to improve test scores. With so much emphasis placed on test scores, students need individualized instrutction which this software can provide. As students move through a plethora of questions, they become increasingly familiar with assessment styles and are able to see where their gaps are. Due to the vast number of questions, teachers and students can work to facilitate mastery in weak areas. I have seen the huge difference that this program can make in my students' lives, and I know that it has helped many students learn at their own pace. Two additional benefits of the program are the homework assistant and the coach. Not every student has a parent at home that can assist them, but Lumos StepUp's unique access to artificial intelligence (AI) makes it possible for those students to get extra assistance as needed. As a teacher, I also love that a coach will review their work from time to time and see how they are making progress. This allows students to see that their performance is not just to check off their list, but because people really want to see how this program is helping them succeed. Students today learn through gamiification type settings, and this platform provides just that!

Using Lumos StepUp gave my students much-needed practice on problems that were very similar to what they saw on the MAP test.
