JetBrains Air

0 reviews

JetBrains Air is an Agentic Development Environment where Codex, Claude Agent, Gemini CLI, and Junie run independent task loops without interfering with one another. It’s designed for developers who build with AI agents every day. Air provides a structured task loop around coding agents: precise task definition in real code context, isolated execution, and intelligent code review — all within a single environment. No more fragmented workflows where you have to stitch together multiple tools just to ship with confidence. With Air, you don’t have to choose between a powerful agent and a powerful environment — you get both. Air brings together popular agents with strong developer tooling — no vendor lock-in, fully agent-agnostic. You can use it with your existing subscriptions: - JetBrains AI (Pro or Ultimate) — includes Claude Agent, Codex, Gemini CLI, and Junie - OpenAI Codex - Google Gemini CLI - Anthropic Claude Agent (API key) Air complements your existing development workflow rather than replacing it. Use Air for agent-driven tasks, and your IDE for everything else. To get started, open a project, create a task, and review the proposed changes. Tasks run locally by default, or can be isolated in Docker containers and Git worktrees for safe, concurrent execution. Air is free to use and powered by AI agents, with a credit-based consumption model. It currently supports macOS (Apple Silicon and Intel), with Windows and Linux support coming soon.

Powerful Python Tools, but Heavy on System Resources

I use PyCharm for data cleaning and plotting graphs. With sales CSV files, I can clean the data and generate graphs in place. I like its smart autocomplete and one-click debugging because they make Python coding much faster. Autocomplete helps me write code without remembering everything, and the debugger helps me find and fix errors quickly by checking code line by line. PyCharm has better Python code suggestions and error checking, a powerful built-in debugger, and everything built in, so I don’t need to add many extensions. Setup was very easy: I just downloaded and installed it, Python interpreter setup was simple, and Git connected in 2–3 clicks. I find it very helpful for Python development and definitely recommend it to friends.

PyCharm Keeps My Django Backend Development Organized

I use PyCharm for Python and Django backend development. In a backend project, I work on helper code for reporting features and use Django ORM queries, permissions, and timezone-aware date logic. The project tree helps me move between modules, and the editor keeps the source and virtual environment in view while I implement and debug. I like having the project structure and code feedback available in one IDE, which helps me stay focused on the change I am making.
